I reviewed your warnings you were given. You offered a lot of drive by posts which stir up console wars.

Thats the main thing that contributes to the bullshit on here. People offering some drive by comment which is obviously to stir up wars and get a rise out of hte "other side". Then when we try to moderate these actions these same people hide behind the same excuses, its either "It was just a joke" "It was just an opinion" "the other side is worse etc etc".

We wont tolerate these underhanded snide comments which are there just to stir the pot. If the other side is worse make reports or take it up with a mod with a well reasoned PM with some examples. Besides that we arent going to feel bad for you.

Are you mod team? ADMIT IT STOP HIDING

Thing is, digging up a old thread to just reply with a snarky smiley is the definition of console warring. If say you put a well thought out and reasonably researched comment that either qualititively or quantitatively show how the latest news about that retailer and what it means to XBOX strategy, in a current thread, nobody would have complained.
I don't think it is, if he brings up related topic that has been discussed here before.

Someone clicked that link, read the thread and felt it was an attack. (How fragile is this guy?)

For a while I was on the "we're taking the ban thing too far" but considering the number of straight up jackasses that no longer post, I think overall it's been a win. Sort of a restriction on free speech for the greater good.

I agree, I am so glad I dont have to go through essays off thelastword thelastword about why my purchase of PlayStation is so much better than my purchase of Xbox lol

Looks like OP just got some more free time to play games, which is why we're here.

Console wars were awesome...when I was in junior high and the 16-Bit era ramped up. But there's no sense in being loyal to a particular company that only cares about you in regards to your likelihood to give them money.

None of these companies are your friend. It's business, which I'm fine with. And unless they're doing something wildly unethical, there's no reason to dislike most of them.

It pains me to admit it, but apparently, I have been banned. Everyone told me it would happen one day but that’s simply not something I wanted to hear, much less experience. Once again I didn’t get things my way! That’s been the story of my life all my life.

So many important things in my life seemed of little significance at the time I've been banned. The memories I’m taking with me now are so precious and have more value than all the gold and silver in my jewelry box.

I’ll leave you with this…please don’t cry because I’m gone; instead be happy that I was here. (Or maybe you can cry a little bit. After all, I have moved to another account).

Today I am happy and I am dancing. Probably naked.

Love you forever.

Was this really necessary OP? Was it worth it? Is it really that hard to tone it down a bit?

People are tribal, it's in our history and how we survived until now. That's why we have religion, sports teams and console wars.

you have big balls to write the truth.

it is good that you got at least - ''bubububut noone'' whining from them, others getting childish and so immature for mods - ''wahaahaha'' respond.
I don't really see any truth in that.

From their tone alone, you can tell that any discussion they'll join about this nonsensical console warring will just be edgelordy bullshit. You don't need that, on any forum.
Doesn't matter if it contains a few bits of an actual news source.
They got a warning (or multiple ones?) and then doubled down on the crap, so got what was coming, really.

When confronted with that kind of trollish posting, why the hell would you demand of mods to put in the effort to create a full writeup of the situation?
Mods aren't some customer service that has to be professionally nice to people when confronted with their BS.

Locked thread with zero discussion allowed on the matter. Has anyone ever actually looked at the ban list? Petty stuff usually followed by trying to have a witty remark from the mod.

Console / system wars were fun when the systems were actually different enough to war about. C64 vs Atari 800. Super Famicom vs MegaDrive. Amiga vs Atari ST. I could war about these all day.

I get annoyed when a post get deleted for no real reason (ie mentioning a pc port in the ratchet runs on the slowest ssd thread), so I just let my gold lapse. :messenger_winking:

Gotta admit, sometimes I think some mods can be a little biased.

They let certain blatant console warring and fanboys keep posting and others get banned for little

"This was his reply:"bubububut noone wants to see you cry in public".

If this was true, then I do think mods should be a bit more professional then that tbh.

Nah, reading the ban justifications are a big part of why this forum is such a fun place, every time I browse NeoGAF I start exactly with the bans list, this stuff is priceless and often on par with some of the best posts on the board.

This was the second time a post of mine got deleted when all i did this time was post an older thread that exposed the PR crap of Phil Spencer

User actually posted this just ot cause a derail and drama with no comment etc.

The post was deleted with a reason of: bubububut noone wants to see you cry in public
The user was also issued a warning which was "Read the sticky. The only reason you aren't being given a break is because your account is [currently] clean. Next time you will be."

The user was treated fairly and even extended the benefit of the doubt in light of the recent new policy. If they had actually made the effort to make the point in the same way they have below then there wouldn't have been a problem. But it was more important to try and get a driveby in, in the hope that it would incite some reactions.

With regards to the edit notes, these are just a standard feature of the forum software. Just like this will say post last edited by a moderator. There is no big conspiracy, it is just how the software works, assumedly for privacy reasons we guess. The boxes have limited text values and we struggle to even fit the nuance of what we need to say in there without worrying about signatures etc.

People in charge set policies. You can oblige and participate or you can disagree and find another place. That's the way it is everywhere. I also disagree with some things but who cares? Once it becomes too much I'll stop. Bear in mind this is privately-owned.

I like you, man. And I too like the bans list. One day, I hope to see those two things I like....

To put it like this, when you're perfectly calm and just having a bit of silly fun, how seriously can you possibly take a mod saying "breh, stop being so triggered"?

The mods general behavior on here has made me think of them all like slightly immature teenagers, and that's not really something I respect much.

Maybe find another forum to console war?

I saw Evilore at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him to unban me or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly
Can we have more insight on this?
This really makes me sick why would one even get that insane amount of Milky Ways?
