At this point in time, who would even buy an xbox and why? Buy a switch 2 if you already have a playstation. It will probably be supported for a long time.

It's $20 cheaper, I'll say it again, why the hell is anybody going to buy a series s if they can just buy a PS5 for $20 more lolIt's not?
Is the digital PS5 not $599?The Series S costing the same as a PS5 is just mental, why on earth would anybody buy it now
This timeline totally sucks and I am not even planning on buying Xbox Next or PS.
Go get switch 2 quickly because they will also increase the price in the near future except Japan which they subsidizeI'll say it. Everybody on the fence - go get a Switch 2 ASAP. It's better than a Series S, the future is way brighter, and it's also cheaper… and who on earth is trusting Microsoft on anything at all right now. Even diehard fans have to be concerned. I'm fortunate to have multiple consoles and handhelds and as of yesterday, a PC, but Switch 2 right now looks like a steal in this climate. If I didn't have one, I would if it was at all financially feasible to do so.
Yep, at the PS Direct website! Is the digital PS5 not $599?
A 2027 or even 2028 launch for ps6 is impractical. 2029 looks more feasible
Yep. I've held off but we already know the Switch 2 is going up $50 in September. $450 for it now is suddenly a "steal". Honestly there's still so far no games on the system I care about but OoT is coming and eventually there will be some other must play games. Best to buy it now just to have it before they decide to up the price again.I'll say it. Everybody on the fence - go get a Switch 2 ASAP. It will be greenlit with even bigger certainlty, coz who u think those companies want and need to make majorty their cash on? Casuals that refuse to pay 800$ for xbox? Its all up to us, hardcore gamers, moving at the bleeding edge of industry, its called bleeding edge coz u gotta bleed money to survive thereThis is just depressing. I can't even imagine a next-gen being greenlit at this point.
Nothing would shock meSo expect PS5 prices to go up by $50-100 in 6 months?
The cadence of price increases for Series consoles seems to be a fairly unique thing tho?#literallyeveryone

Maybe bit earlier, like week or two before gta6 launch, when ppl will be hyped to the max and ready to make sacrificesSo expect PS5 prices to go up by $50-100 in 6 months?
Its always been like that. Xbox LONG ago pulled out of other markets...which is probably a big reason their growth has been so damn bad this gen.Outside of the US (and UK?), it's been impossible to find either the Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X for a year now. Only a few stores or retailers offer it, and even then, they have waiting lists. Not even the official Xbox store has any consoles available. However, Xbox ROG Ally consoles are available on retailers.
Basically, the stock they manufacture is allocated to the US and UK(?).
I wonder if we see a 512GB SKU in the future for PS5. Or hell... bring your own storage SKU.Nothing would shock me

Yeah, I am planning to stick with my 5080 and 64GB RAM PC for a long time.I've been a multiplatform gamer since the days of Atari, Intellivision, and Colecovision. I've come to the sad conclusion that this is likely my last truly multiplatform generation. Next generation I'm only going to be able to afford one. Sad, but I suppose it was inevitable.
I see the PS5 DE for $599Why? The retarded Series S cost the same amount as a PS5 DE. How can this be possible?
Series S is $100 cheaper. Why? The retarded Series S cost the same amount as a PS5 DE. How can this be possible?
Yep, they dragged price increases out as long as they could too. Basically everyone is screwed. I expect Sony to try and hold out through the Holidays but we will see.
PS6 might be higher than $1000 after all.
1TB Series X - Disc edition for $800
Asha has lost her fucking mind.
And it will still be the cheapest way to play GTA6.I just noticed the Series S is the original price of the Series X.

At 20fps and blurry 720p if you're luckyAnd it will still be the cheapest way to play GTA6.![]()
Right and no one in the consumer space could've dragged this out as long as they did so if they are folding its.. dare a say "over" lol
It's funny..
They went down to $220 at one point in 2023 (if you couldnt get one for $150 as a Verizon Wireless subscriber in March 2023).
That pc has same or better specs than rumored helix console in every scenario, including 32gigs of fast ddr5, 5080 with its 16gigs of vram(so total 48gigs), 2tb ssd, cpu that will put to shame next gen console cpu even if its zen6 based.Helix is now a $3000 device
They are designed to resist cold weather (that was the norm for ~2k years).
Very likely (and Switch 2 also)So expect PS5 prices to go up by $50-100 in 6 months?
It'll look and run like shit. And it will still be the cheapest way to play GTA6.![]()
Bad news for now, but eventually a bunch of factories will be built in China producing a ridiculous amout of ram modules for cheap, but it will take time for that to happen.
So next 2 - 3 yrs will be pretty bad, but eventually it will reverse course for the better. It will be interesting to see which tech companies survives at that point.
Rockstar is great, yeah.At 20fps and blurry 720p if you're lucky
