I'm also really tired of the "SEC owns all, Big Ten sucks" bullshit. Who could've known that OSU playing like they had never seen a football before in last year's championship would've had such an effect. Tasvo Highway is my favorite campaign level, so I've been replaying sections of it trying to get better at it. The other day I turned on a few skulls and tried to get through it on Legendary. My goal was not to get the highest score, but to minimize my total death count under hard conditions.
The skulls I had on were:
-Thunderstorm
-Tough Luck
-Catch Fog
-Mythic
-Fog
My final death total was 26. The thing that killed me the most were the Wraiths. I hate those things.

Sounds brutal. I had at least that many deaths on my two vanilla Legendary runs. I'm going to try a similar feat on The Storm (which is my personal favorite level) this week. I suspect I will die a lot.tak said:

I always have a ton of problems with that first large scale battle on The Storm (the one where you have to kill the single AAA tank). The majority of my deaths on The Storm come from that one encounter, mostly from those Ghosts.GhaleonEB said:

I found I can't engage more than two ghosts at a time and come out ahead. For the first courtyard fight, I head straight over to where the phantom drops off the wraith and plant a plasma grenade up its....exhaust port...right when it lands. I then head back to the building where the Marines were fighting and use the sniper rifle on top to take out the Grunts cruising around in ghosts down below.tak said:

I'm actually starting to get into MP, and found myself playing a little extra late last night just to rank up. I think I might have reached some kind of tipping point - I actually cared about my rank.

Has Bungie ever said which is correct, the number of online players displayed in matchmaking of Halo 3, or on Bungie.net? Halo 3 usually shows about 2x the number that bungie.net does. Right now the game says 463k players online, while the site shows 193k. The latter sounds more plausable, and I recall that the number of online players was doubled on bungie.net for a bit by error, so it could be the same way in Halo 3, just not corrected yet.

Allright, just got my overkill ach in Lone Wolves, finally. I can say goodbye to that mode for good. It was Crazy King on Guardian and I was right in the middle of the hill. I had a bubble shield and a shotgun, the ideal recipe for destruction. Bang, melee x4, running in circles. So awesome. I don't know why people feel they should boost things like this, getting the more challenging achievements are great moments in mp. Same with Two for One, which was a stroke of luck on my part. The only mp achievement I got left is Maybe next time buddy. I never even got close to that one. When I'm in a vehicle, people never try to hijack, they just you know... try to kill me.
