Well, I'm having trouble figuring out wtf is going on. The way I got my gamertag is a little confusing so I don't have all the account info (my cousin gave me this gamertag)

Keep us updated on what's going on, dude. This is potentially extremely lame.

Yes, please do.

I just called to remove my Debit Card from my Live account because of this. Can't take any chances.

I hope everything turns up okay with you, Insaniac.

Maybe your cousin recovered it.

All someone needs is the gamertag, the email address attached to it, and your email password. Any chance your cousin wants his tag back?

no, he has his own gamertag, and I called him already.

anyway I can check what e-mail address is attached to what gamertag so I can make sure that I'm entering the correct e-mail address? it's been so long.

You can check it in your profile at xboxlive.com, but I think you need the email account to login to that in the first place.

Okay, wtf, my friend said he player searched me on B.net and it shows up as someone else, but my old halo 2 games are still the same, something is definitely afoot, but i'm having too much trouble trying to deal with xboxlive support!

Yeah, you need to have your information, or else they won't deal with you. E-mail address, last four digits of credit card associated, etc.

Pretty lame, seems the people with recon armor are being targeted by jealous losers. This is why we can't have nice things.

I hope you get everything fixed, maybe try emailing Major Nelson or something? He might be able to get you in touch with a higher up instead of dealing with tech support.

is the sign in password NEED to be the same as the e-mail one, or can it be changed different from the e-mail one? Cause I can sign in to the e-mail account just fine, but I can't sign into live or anything relating to xbox live
Your passport ID is the same for the e-mail account and your gamertag associated with that e-mail account. If you can sign into your passport e-mail account, then you should be able to sign into xbox.com. If you can't, then either you have the wrong e-mail address or he's changed the Live ID it was associated with. Your Xbox customer support agent should have a list of recent Live ID changes. But you probably have to have the original e-mail address and the last four digits of the credit card associated with that account.

well I've informed my cousin of recent events, he's calling 18004myxbox right now and hopefully straigtening things out since he will have the proper info to give them... this is super lame.

Don't panic.

Go to the "recover my gamertag" option from you Xbox 360 dashboard. Recover your gamertag onto your 360. Change your .NET passport password so no one else has access to your Xbox Live account if it was a breach.

No one can get into your CC information so calm down. All they would have access to is the last four digits at most.

Did you play with you gamertag on someone's 360? Did you perhaps transfer your gamertag to a memory card? I don't think anyone has "hacked" your account you probably just haven't recovered your gamertag from the last time you played it.

His fileshare has files from "DarkreaperBEAST" who's halo 3 service record is not found anymore. I think that was his previous GT?
Sounds like a possibility. Could it be that he somehow changed his gamertag to yours?

Yeah, I noticed that too. Make sure to let your brother know about that BEAST GT and tell your brother to ask customer support to see where the console is that recovered your GT.

well it's good they can't get the CC information, so at least there's no huge problem there. I can't recover my GT, it isn't recognizing the passport e-mail anymore (log in to e-mail account works, logging in to Windows Live doesn't)

If you can sign into your email address that is associated with your Xbox Live Gamertag then you can simply choose the "recover my gamertag" option from the Xbox 360 dashboard and recover all your gamertag information.

You should have no problem doing that if you can sign into the email address from your computer.

Wow that sucks hard, it seems if you get spotted with recon you're a target for lame account stealers nowdays.

Which is just absolutely absurd. Who the fuck would honestly hack one's account just to use Recon Armor? The whole notion just baffles me...

Hope everything gets sorted out for you, Insaniac.

Was your password for windows live something fairly simple or one of your fave things? since they would need that to recover an account to their machine?

Recon or not this makes me want to go update everything live related.

its just a random password, nonsensible chars.

PM me with what you go through tonight with Xbox support and when I get to work in the morning Frankie and I will make sure things continue to move swiftly.

If it's ANY consolation, when Skyllus had his Recon loaded account filled, his situation ended up getting resolved and everything is back to normal now.

That's good, I think this should get resolved fairly quickly. But that asshat should be banned :(

Wow this is better customer support then the whole "bill gates sends new 360 to customer" situation LOL

I don't know if this helps, but I read about this just a few minutes ago when people thought their accounts were hacked. (Article dated March 27, 2007 just to let people know so they don't freak out) http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/03/23/pre-texting-the-cause-of-xbox-live-account-issues/

I think this guy who hacked your account used 'pre-texting' (tricking customer support to giving out account information) on your account.

EDIT: Check your PMs, Insaniac.

Whoever did this is a REAL DOUCHE!

Okay here's the update. My cousin, who gave me this GT, called xboxlive support. His credit card was originally the one on it, apparently. Now, supposedly his credit card expired in may, and the account was renewed a few days afterwards. I don't have any recollection of ever renewing the account, and I've never had any problems with live till today. I dont' think that the account could have just expired, cause it isn't may yet.

Is comcast.net supported by windows live? I want to double check, cause I could've sworn that's what i've been using to sign in all the time.

Anyways, he said support told him that his name, his father's name, my name and his credit card are no longer associated with the account. So now, I have no clue what's going on, because, according to bungie.net player search (search Lintendo64) the account still exists under someone else. Also this new person's old Halo2 service record, still has all MY old information, such as the "Clan sc00g" tag.

Okay, i've confirmed which CC i used to purchase msoft points recently to buy the heroic map pack (map pack came out early dec right?), which was the only other credit card on the console, so I haven't seen any suspicious debts come up on my CC yet...

Good. And if any do, you let me know so I can send some money back to recoup some (or maybe all) of the losses.

One more thing, the supposed DARKbeastREAPER using the GT Lintendo64, apparently has the bungie.net profile "Lintendo_64". This is stinking of intentional.

Christ: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=12509800

This guy has been accused of being a BOOSTER too. Good god have people no morals?

Yeah, it's pretty clear he swiped your profile somehow. Has Xbox support said if they will do anything to help you? Or is it up to Luke/Frank/Bungie now?

I turned over xbox live support to my cousin, since he will have better knowledge of the info used when we/he created this gamertag. He had to sleep, so we can't be sure of what will happen till tomorrow. Tomorrow I will get the reference number and call them back. I also let Luke know.

This is extremely creepy.

why's that?

I think he is talking about what has pretty much happened to you today.

Hope everything works out for you. If you cant get verified when calling into Xbox Customer Service then they will be able to do nothing whatsoever for you. Chances are whoever stole your account arleady changed the name, cc, address, phone, and any other contact information they would use to verify a person.

Hopefully Luke/Frank can do something for you.

Sorry man.

Ah.

Well I appreciate the support and help all of you have given these past few hours. This has been a real hassle. If I happen to not get my GT back, I'll simply cancel my credit card, and get a new GT I guess. I'll lose my recon but oh well, that's life. Oh and if I did get a new GT, how would I access the custom maps on Halo 3, cause as far as I know you can't access the maps when signed on as a diff account.

Edit: Nice, "Lintendo_64" bungie.net profile has been active since... 2/10, coincidence?

So, is it just me or are there way too many BR starts in Lone Wolves? Do not want. Plus High ground does not belong in a FFA playlist IMO. This ranting has been triggered by me having 5 awesome games then 5 sucky (construct, isolation, highground, isolation, UGH) games.

Heh, I know a large amount of people that would argue that there aren't enough BR starts in Lone Wolves. Or that it should be all BR starts.
