From what I‘ve seen from the trailers and footage so far, it looks like Joel is gonna die pretty early in the game, with Ellie‘s girlfriend likely being responsible in one way or the other, which prompts Ellie to go full revenge mode against her.

The trailers kind of made it seem as if Ellie‘s girlfriend gets killed, and she (together with Joel) then go to find the killers. But I think that‘s a misdirection (a pretty obvious one), and it‘s Ellie herself who will kill her for her betrayal (which seems to be hinted at when Ellie’s girlfriend jokingly says „let me guess, you‘re gonna kill me“ to Ellie in the gameplay footage where the two of them are riding through that snowy landscape.


Regarding the whole ‚woke‘ thing, people should be glad that a lesbian protagonist is all they‘ll have to put up with so far. My main gripe with ND‘s recent titles are their hyper-masculine female characters. Nadine in U4 was especially ridiculous in this regard; that women fought like a terminator, lol. Then there‘s that women from one of the earlier TLoU2 trailers (the one where she almost gets disemboweled); she looks to be another of these she-men: angry face, ‚badass‘ demeanor, bulging muscles. At least Ellie and her girlfriend look like normal young women.

All I care about/ask for is that naughty dog improve the AI. Man was the AI stupid in the first game. Ellie got me caught way too many times, and enemies were just as stupid even without her tipping them off.

We had Days Gone just last year, maybe some other that I don't know... isn't spiderman white anyway? Apparently the black one is good anyways, so this is a transition that apparently worked in the comics at least.

Drake is very much a "normal" guy going on some adventures, Sully is the real star of the show conversation wise. I would not care that much (if it doesn't matter one way it should not matter the other way)... but what really irks me is the whole "revenge" portion, they sound more like a bunch of angry / jealous people more than people who want to do good, or tell better stories.

If it was just video games or movies it would not be so bad, but if you look for a job posting for pretty much any company that has HR they will have some diversity clause that basically stipulate that if you are from a minority group and you apply they will hire you, they may bypass white applicants, who may or may not be more qualified (I red somewhere that MS even gives bonuses to managers who diversify their team!). They often even have a diversity and inclusion portion on their site to show their credentials.

The funny thing is, when I go to work I tend to hang out with the "ethnics" (their word) and I love them, but sometimes I wonder if some of them are there just to fill in some diversity quota, I used to think that this could not happen, but this is really how Hiring works these days.

There's also prone stealth now too and it probably has the most advanced melee combat in its genre

I would agree on the so called "puzzles" (I would barely call them puzzles) but the actual gameplay especially on survival/Grounded difficulty really fun for me. But you say it gonna get "mix reviews" based on what exactly? Like or not lot people enjoy the original game and it got good reviews, so what exactly makes you think 2nd game might get "mix reviews" ?

I just feel that torture and gun porn isn't going to be universally lauded this this time around. And if the gameplay hasn't evolved much, I could see that putting off some people. I mean, it will score well, probably no lower than 85 overall, but I don't see it scoring near the first.
