I've finished game on Series X in performance mode, yes - there are frame drops and yes - I have feeling that whole this drama is overblown, at least considering 60fps mode on XSX. It's a great game and if you don't mind few frames dropped here and there - you'll be fine. If you have VRR screen you probably won't even notice it. Game looks gorgeous even in performance mode. I've disabled motion blur because it's implementation is horrible, it blurs entire screen, even smallest movements smears entire screen - reminds me of PS2 days.Sounds pretty good to me, above 1440p and not locked 60fps but doesn't sound like it drop too much and hope VRR take care of that on PS5.
If I've had great time with the game on XSX, undoubtedly you'll have even better experience on PS5. And I don't have VRR TV (yet).
Did they drop the ball in performance mode on both machines - yes they did BUT the game is still great and runs good most of the time.
Funny thing is - if there weren't analysis like this one, no one would even care. Ok - 30fps is a mess on XSX - but to me, subjectively, doesn't mean much since 30fps for me is a no go. Also - that doesn't mean it's fine in the current state, they should resolve it soon with further optimizations for both PS5 and Xbox X/S, stable 60 would be great.
In my playthrough I didn't even have bugs, except one crash to dashboard which wasn't problem - game autosaves are quite frequent, so no progress lost.
So from my experience - in performance mode - only real blemishes were frame drops and that one crash - everything else was spot on.
State of PC version deserved the backlash it got - that is just unacceptable. Hopefully patch really works so PC bros can enjoy in this fine game.
This was longer post that I initially intended it to be.
