It can't be a spiritual successor to suikoden without plant enemiesPotato plants from hell ... my immortal enemies ...
Murakami: I think that if heroes from all over the world gather, the scale will increase, so it will be necessary to have a set period, but even so, it will not be a long period like 3 or 4 years. think. The delivery on the Kickstarter page is scheduled for October 2022, so I hope to complete it by about that time.
It's miki higashino and it doesn't look as of now she's attached to the project, her wiki says she hasn't done anything video game related since 2007, it's a shame too since the music was such a big part of suikoden, she also did the music to the strategy rpg vandal hearts another great gameWho was the composer for Suikoden and is he/she still in the industry?
Sorta my thoughts. I'm sure there's a thread on this but...what happened to Konami? Half-a-million to release the game almost independently...that could take some time. I've seen kickstarter campaigns for deal but reviving Suikoden would be well-worth the crowdfunding.Sad that Castlevania and Suikoden have to go this route nowadays. Fuck Konami.
Early gameplay teaser. Updated OP.
But will the music be this incredible? 11 year old me will never forget hearing these for the first time.
My nostalgia for this game is incredibly high. First PS1 game I owned along with RE1 and Wild Arms.
This game just looks and sounds like the walls in that room!!
You can't tell me they didn't MAKE this game in my gaming room as a kid. My association with it and that room is too high for you to tell me otherwise!!
I dont do kickstarters but I hope its funded and I will def check it out later
Early gameplay teaser. Updated OP.
Game will be financed via Kickstarter on July 27th.
A lot of additional information in the article.

never played sukioden but love jrpgs and have only heard overwhelmingly positive things about it. i guess nows as good a time as any to dive into it
Apparently it's Michiko Naruke of Wild Arms fame, Motoi Sakubara and others. Michiko Naruke selling doujin compositions at Comiket was honestly depressing since she needs to do more full blown work she's so talented.I wonder who will handle the music.

I don't know what Yoshitaka Murayama did to Siliconera, but they were very passive aggressive in their interview.
If you distill the interviewers questions down to their essence they amount to:
- Nowa and Seign are rip offs of Riou and Jowy from Suikoden II, correct?
- Your past games are racist. What specific actions are you taking to ensure this new game isn't racist again?
- Your depiction of the only black character in Eiyuden Chronicles is racist. Does that bother you?
- Japanese Kickstarter games have a bad track record of becoming failures. What have you done to ensure yours won't be?
- Even though this game is a Suikoden rip off, how will you make it stand out?
That game itself sounds promising and I like the approach they took with the art style.
Exactly! That interview rubbed me the wrong way, what gives the interviewer the right to judge Murayama’s past work as racist? I never read or heard anything about Suikoden being racist before. These people have no idea how self-centered and pathetic they are, perceiving everything through their brainwashed SJW lenses.I don't know what Yoshitaka Murayama did to Siliconera, but they were very passive aggressive in their interview.

It’s awesome to see these two people involved in this project, their work is outstanding, but it’s also sad to learn about the lack of recognition for Michiko Naruke. I’m excited to discover what she composes for this game.Apparently it's Michiko Naruke of Wild Arms fame, Motoi Sakubara and others. Honestly this is amazing.

That was definitely the worst part of the interview, but nearly all the questions came off as unprofessional. They closed the comments not long after the interview was posted to stop it from blowing up further than it did. The interviewer's logic was that it was okay to accuse Murayama of being racist since that was only 2 out of 10 of the questions they asked.
If you have a Vita or PS3 pick up Suikoden 2. It’s probably the best in the series next to 5.Never played a Suikoden before but I've heard amazing things.
Love the art style here. Tasteful anime design still exists? Wow
