I don't see a reason for Sony to lower the price. That is the price of admission for access to Sony first party games and honestly I believe that $499 is worth it for Demon's Souls alone.
Bethesda and its subsidiaries has not cracked a 90 on Metacritic since 2012. They are not on the same level, in fact they were still an industry joke two days agoWe should at least be able to admit that none of those consoles have an impressive launch line up or we're not operating with the same set of facts.
The bottom line is what the Playstation has, Xbox since yesterday also has just as much or more, it's just a matter of whether you enjoy RPGs and shooters more or less than action adventure.
Xbox however can claim a lot of things that Playstation does not have and I refer you to my OP. It's legitimate to wonder if they should charge me the same. Casual gamers who wonder like me will start speaking with their wallet at some point. It's just economics.
Remains to be seen. They've made good acquisitions, I wouldn't deny that. Next gen is going to be interesting for sure. The gap is closing fast.
Yeah true, but with such a fair anlysis you cannot create Have you seen Titanfall reference : )Humm.. I would disagree that the PS5 pre-order numbers are anything to go by and I know very well how high they are, I'm still trying to pre-order myself.
First of all, Xbox sold out equally fast and we don't know how much stock manufacturers made available so the best we can do here is speculate.
Most importantly though, the mass market wasn't queueing at EB Games or launching the amazon app at 8 am this morning. Those were the most hardcore gamers, people like me (I did both of those things).
The mass market will start really paying attention about a year from now.
The gap is closing fast.
PS5 will release with games like Demon's Souls, Spiderman: Miles Morales, Devil May Cry V Special Edition, Sackboy, Godfall, Destruction All Stars, Cyberpunk 2077, AC Valhalla, CoD Cold War, Observer: System Redux, Dirt 5, Watch Dogs Legion or NBA2K21.We should at least be able to admit that none of those consoles have an impressive launch line up or we're not operating with the same set of facts.

Agreed. I think most Sony exclusives are boring AF.I think that comes down to the individual, for me I see nothing that compares in quality to God of War, TLOU, DeS coming from Microsoft or their new acquisition. If TES:VI is Xbox Exclusive it will grab my attention.
The old third party games are cheap. The first party xbox stuff has to actually interest someoneThe price of the games or the console, because next gen is looking pricey AF on the PS5. You can no longer ignore the extreme value gap between Xbox and Playstation.
Sony still has all the zenimax games either via BC (I would assume they're part of the 99%) or coming out soon so only ones released from here on out not named deathloop and ghostwire toyko. They didn't suddenly destroy all copies of doom eternal on PlayStation. So they both have those in their stable until...starfield? Maybe another wolfenstein before thatWell, what are we comparing here? It depends which ones you pick. Since yesterday it's at best a toss. Bethesda games metacritic particularly well. And Microsoft added all of them to its stable, so that argument has become outdated I'm afraid.
Whats the last 90 + metacritic game any of these acquisitions have produced? The gap is closing fast.
oh u think all these studios are going exclusive? cute. Skyrim 2 is going to be whored out to every platform just like that last one.Once people start realizing that Starfield is not releasing on Sony's console
what? were are you pulling this from?Once enough people start commenting about trying the latest FIFA and Battlefield weeks before people on Playstation, without paying anything extra, word will spread.

In addition to Astro's Playroom preinstalled and as PS+ games (most people will have PS+):
Battlefield 1
Batman: Arkham Knight
Bloodborne
Days Gone
Detroit: Become Human
Fallout 4
Final Fantasy 15
God of War
Infamous Second Son
The Last Guardian
The Last of Us
Monster Hunter: World
Mortal Kombat X
Persona 5
Ratchet and Clank
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Until Dawn
Not bad at all. Tell me a console with a bigger or better launch line up than this one. And for the first year it will have Ratchet, Horizon 2, God of War 2, Returnal, probably Gran Turismo 7 and all the timed exclusives plus other ones that who knows are going to be released like FFXVI and FFVII Remake Episode 2.
What is the Xbox console exclusive launch line-up? And what other new big console (also available in PC and Xbox Series S) AAA exclusives are going to have game Xbox and Game Pass for the first year other than Halo? From Bethesda Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo will be PS5 console timed exclusives, an in EA Play they put their big games a year after release or so, so they may put there Jedi Fallen Order.
What games are going to convince casuals to speak with their wallets?
It's been less than 2 years. Games take time to make.Whats the last 90 + metacritic game any of these acquisitions have produced?
Oh god, games have taken Xbox 7 years already... despite having the best E3's year after year...It's been less than 2 years. Games take time to make.
Flight Simulator was only a few weeks ago.Whats the last 90 + metacritic game any of these acquisitions have produced?
That’s it. It’s like people think the new acquisitions absolutely need an immediate response from sony or something. How very shortsightedWhy lower it when people are clamoring to buy it?
It's never too late to turn things around, and they have been doing everything right. Do you truly believe XBGS with 23 strong will not put out any great content in the next couple years?Oh god, games have taken Xbox 7 years already... despite having the best E3's year after year...
Asobo is 2nd party, though I expect MS will pick them upFlight Simulator was only a few weeks ago.
Not your type of game? I guess there goes the metacritic argument.
Bethesda is an outstanding acquisition.
And before they were acquired? It's been less than 2 years. Games take time to make.
You may be overstating their issues with one particular franchise but I think I see where you stand.Asobo is 2nd party, though I expect MS will pick them up
Bethesda is a good acquisition but they haven't made a 90 plus game in almost a decade
They were still the industry joke 2 days ago. Let's not disguise their issues now
Phil Spencer said case by case basis but I wouldn't recommend that Sony uses you as their negotiatoroh u think all these studios are going exclusive? cute. Skyrim 2 is going to be whored out to every platform just like that last one.
It's called EA Access. Part of EA Play which was added to Game Pass at no extra cost.what? were are you pulling this from?
I looked at GamePass lineup lastnight out of curiosity and I think I saw less tha 5 games that I had any interest in playing that I didn't have already, wasn't super cheap to buy or had been on PS+.Some other points to consider:
- US$ 70 games: price is more dynamic today. A US$ 70 game becomes a US$ 50 game in six months and eventually becomes a free game. Game Pass is a fantastic deal for sure, but there's an infinite offering of cheap AAA games these days in every platform, so from the economic perspective, as much as MS is being aggressive and crazy with Game Pass, they're fighting in a market where the consumer is already overwhelmed by the amount of quality games for cheap.
The real competition these days is for people's time, so offering them 100 games per month is not necessarily better than offering a much larger menu of good deals and the possibility of dedicating your time to one or two better games.
- Considering two of Bethesda's games will be PS5 exclusives for the next year and there's nothing we know yet that's coming out soon from them, when are the fans expecting to start collecting the fruits of this 5.7 billion deal? Probably will take 2 or 3 years to start making a difference. I have the impression that MS is a bit too late, but we'll see. This gen should be very interesting.
