05./00. [NSW] The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo) {2018.02.01}
It Is still mainly for young people and if you don't see it ...it's okay ) but you will never EVER see a game such teh last of us or something produced by nintendo...never accept itNintendo with the Switch are appealing to a much wider demographic, and yes they are family too, but if you look at the marketing for the Switch you can see it aimed at everybody, not just kids. In the past Nintendo focused on children as it was the main market, but since the launch of the original Playstation and Xbox that has not been the case for a while now.
What do you count as young people? In Nintendo's own survey in 2017, 83% of the people with the strongest desire to purchase a Switch were over 18 and 63% of them were over 24. In the NPD's latest survey 70% of Switch owners are 18 or over while nearly 40% are 30 or over.It Is still mainly for young people and if you don't see it ...it's okay ) but you will never EVER see a game such teh last of us or something produced by nintendo...never accept it
Genealogy of holy war is darker than anything that Sony has produced till now.It Is still mainly for young people and if you don't see it ...it's okay ) but you will never EVER see a game such teh last of us or something produced by nintendo...never accept it
Whenever somebody goes for that, they mean stereotypes. What do you count as young people? I agree with you that Nintendo's bread and butter are games aimed at all ages and they are unlikely to develop games specifically targeted at people 18 over. For that they rely on third parties mostly but they do publish some 18+ rated games themselves too.
Just swap CoD with TLoU.It Is still mainly for young people and if you don't see it ...it's okay ) but you will never EVER see a game such teh last of us or something produced by nintendo...never accept it

Yeah it's odd. At this stage in its lifecycle any successful console would have a wide variety of ages in its audience. Saying a console is "mainly for kid"is like saying a console is "mainly for people bin people in their 30s".You are totally correct, and it's a common misconception that's aimed constantly at Nintendo, mainly on gaming sites by core hobby gamers who don't like the fact games with cute graphics like Animal crossing new horizons, out sell triple AAA movie games like the last of us by massive amounts.
They just can't get their heads around the fact something they do not like personally, and is not technically advanced in the graphics department to their own standards would still appeal to millions of people. So rather than just accept it for what it is, and just think there is a wider audience outside of their own personal tastes, they put it down to "It must be kids buying these games", as they have little to no standards...sad really.

It's very awesome to see a new game with refreshing formula is selling really well in Japan while video games that relied heavily on graphics struggling to sell more than 30K physical copies.Switch stocks

I think there is a misunderstanding between us.Whatever data you show will never hinder the fact that Japan is a small market for Sony. While Japan is a big market for Nintendo. I mean all the data you are showing me includes Japan numbers. SMH.
Launch aligned, let's remove the sales from Japan for both? Tell me honestly which Console manufacturer will lose a lot of sales? Is it Playstation or NSW?
Also, I never said that Switch is not successful outside Japan. Take a look at my reply to Woopah.
I will say it again Sony doesn't need Japan as Nintendo needs Japan. My post is not even all about Nintendo for crying out loud.
And if you think that Japan is not a key ingredients for Switch success then LOL.
At the moment Switch is, launch aligned, ahead of PS4 which means there might be a chance that it will end up over PS4 LTD once the console conclude its life cycle. What does launch aligned have to do with what I have said?
Looks like the PS5 Is as popular as a rattle snake in a lucky dip, in Japan.Switch stocks

All of your post is irrelevant to what I have said. You are focusing on the words not on the context. Once again I never said that Switch is not successful outside Japan.I think there is a misunderstanding between us.
I know, as you do, what are the the consoles (PS4, NSW) sales split between regions.
My issue with what you said (first post of yours I've quoted) is the the expression "Sony doesn't needs THIS, Nintendo needs THAT" for describing PlayStation difficulties in the japanese market and the contemporary Nintendo's strength in the same market.
I just proceeded to explained why (Switch is a success at a worldwide level).
The key ingredients behind the Switch success are defined by the concept of the console and the software it has (with Nintendo's games being the key driver of the platform adoption as usual).
The formula is being warmly received everywhere because everybody regardless of culture, sex and age can instantly appreciate how Switch helps to play console games by adapting to each peculiar lifestyle.
At the moment Switch is, launch aligned, ahead of PS4 which means there might be a chance that it will end up over PS4 LTD once the console conclude its life cycle.
In that case it is likely that the NSW hardware sales outside Japan will be in the same ballpark of the PS4 sales outside Japan.
The reason why I have to use conditionals is that we are comparing two console at a totally different point of their life cycle (with one being at the end whereas the other is roughly in the middle).
True.It Is still mainly for young people and if you don't see it ...it's okay ) but you will never EVER see a game such teh last of us or something produced by nintendo...never accept it
I've already give you a possible answer when I talked about what might be the NSW LTD.Let me ask you this if we removed the Japanese numbers, do you think it will sell faster than PS4?
I will give you an answer that's centered on Switch and that may confuse or be unexpected:If ever Switch outsold PS4 then what market do you think will be used as a barometer?
I think we both understood our sides. Won't you agree?Do I need to explain my self more? Just tell me so I can explain it further.
Lol just for that narrative you had run down on this rabbit hole. All of your post is irrelevant to what I have said. You are focusing on the words not on the context. Once again I never said that Switch is not successful outside Japan.
So what if Switch Sell 1Billion,1 trillion sales. Japan numbers made it possible. I am talking about markets/region breakdown here. I am talking about sales data here. Why do you think I even bother posting numbers?
You also provided the sales breakdown. If you removed the sales from Japan, Switch will lose a large percentage of it's sales while if you removed it from PS4, It's only a small percentage. Which actually prove my point more.
Then to further explain if we removed NA numbers for both then both won't be successful because they will lose a lot of sales. Just like Playstation need the EU and ROTW market more than Nintendo. Just like Sony can afford to not prioritize Japan with Console shipments but you cannot say that for Nintendo. Nintendo will prioritize Japan more than Europe if they needed to choose.
All markets are important but there will be a certain market where both Console manufacturer will focus because they know they need that market.
Let me ask you this if we removed the Japanese numbers, do you think it will sell faster than PS4? If ever Switch outsold PS4 then what market do you think will be used as a barometer?
Do I need to explain my self more? Just tell me so I can explain it further.
If my math is correct you compared Q2 2020 of nintendo from Q1 of Sony 2017.I looked into this before and Switch was around 4 million behind PS4 outside Japan, but with one less holiday. So once we get the next update in Feb Switch should be around level and maybe a bit ahead.
1st paragraph see my post above.I've already give you a possible answer when I talked about what might be the NSW LTD.
Woopah slyly (I don't intend it as an insult) is suggesting right now they are already in the same ballpark (consoles sales outside Japan), probably because he is guessing (as I do) that launch aligned the difference between PS4 and NSW should be now roughly around 13-14 million units in Switch favor.
I will give you an answer that's centered on Switch and that may confuse or be unexpected:
One of the barometer that I'm interested to know how will unfold and that I believe will impact the final judgement on Switch is the "Other" region.
I think we both understood our sides. Won't you agree?
Did I tell something negative to switch for the hostility that I got from this thread? Lol.Lol just for that narrative you had run down on this rabbit hole.
We'll see how the numbers for the FY, then maybe a new goalpost from you?
No. Because the next numbers will be much much ahead of PS4 launch wise, if you substract the units from the Japan it will be kinda same with only 1-2 millions offset. The current number is skewed not the next quarter, the Switch having 1 less holiday compared to PS4 right now.Did I tell something negative to switch for the hostility that I got from this thread? Lol.
If you guys think that Japanese market is not key market for it’s success then LOL.
Guys...
GUYS
GUYS
What if JAPAN DIDN'T EXIST? Surely Nintendo would be fucked!
i know you wanna be blind but it's getting deeply pathetic
Very good and concise way to summarize the kind of ridiculous rationalization I've seen around here to explain away Nintendo absolutely anally devastating the competition.
Yeah, don't look switch numbers in uk,us, canada, spain, france ^^ regions from Japan, right?
Sing but nothing else, thx
This might be the most insulting thing anyone has ever said to me on GAFDude hold up, are you under the impression I'm actually AGAINST Nintendo? I'm probably the biggest Nintendo fanboy on GAF lol (in a threeway tie with MagnesG and Xaero Gravity ).
That sarcasm was totally missed by you lmao.Dude hold up, are you under the impression I'm actually AGAINST Nintendo? I'm probably the biggest Nintendo fanboy on GAF lol (in a threeway tie with MagnesG and Xaero Gravity ).

It’s amazing how we are on a Japanese and Nintendo breaking records with the help of Japan and some don’t want to acknowledge it because it doesn’t suit their narratives.
Enjoy your sales and the profit nintendo fans. LMAO.
Don't cry foul when you were the one who started this bullshit. So my point still stands that Nintendo needs Japan to be successful while it’s an opposite for Sony.
Good Job for a wonderful discussion.
When I never said that Nintendo is doomed without Japan.
Successful- accomplishing an aim or purpose. You said this:
Successful- accomplishing an aim or purpose.
english is not my native language but doing a quick search. Hmmmm....
"needs".Successful- accomplishing an aim or purpose.
english is not my native language but doing a quick search. Hmmmm....
focusing on the words and not the context.
That’s why I chose the word because it fits my comparison between Sony and Nintendo.
When I said successful I never once I said that Nintendo is failing without Japan.
I tried to show the difference between PS4 and Switch. My intent was not to discredit nintendo which a lot of you think I am doing.
I even highlighted my main point.
Difference of strategy between the 2. Because Switch is more tailored than Ps4 in Japan. Don’t you agree?
Softwares shows it, sales shows it.
That sarcasm was totally missed by you lmao.
Or am I the one who misunderstood?
whether they are for nintendo or against or any brand, it tires me but i love to hear you sing
i have a gift for you tooI do not know what's happening, I feel like I'm stoned.
You're awesome, please accept this gift:
