2 has a cool shape, but I'm not a fan of the black and white colouring. The fern is fancy but difficult to draw, I prefer the one in blue and black but only because the black and white looks dull and the blue and red looks like an American sportsteam-logo.

The problem at the moment is no-one likes the four (now five) picks the governments panel have made, so this entire process is probably going to go down in flames.

The problem with their current flag is that the union jack looks cropped in paint. The concept is not ugly, but it would be improved if you extended the arms of the jack to the actual border of the flag

Red Peak is best, with the black fern being second. The rest are too busy, look like they are designed by committee or both.

Excellent ballot design and display. I've done some work with with the NZ Electoral Commission over the last few months and they've been total pros and very helpful, can't sing their praises enough.
(On that note, if any older Kiwis who are also political junkies here are reading this, I'd love it if you could get in touch with me. I'm interested in talking about experiences voting before the MMP reform, ideally for people who were voting in the 80s.)

pretty sure I voted to leave the commonwealth. The Union Jack just doesn't look good to me, maybe because it reminds me of the British flag but it just looks so typically English, I would prefer the Aboriginal flag or something similar that is uniquely Australian.

I'd vote for it in a flash, great flag with heritage but it has been co-opted by the Union movement and therefore the other side would never ever ever ever ever allow it.
