I don't know why, but Hulk's face looks reeeally unimposing or angry. When I look at this picture of him, I imagine him having the voice of the gay dude with the mustache from Family Guy with a soft pitched roar to match.

I haven't really been waiting for this game to any sizeable degree beyond a passing interest. I didn't really see anything that increased my interest for it to be honest.

The game is out in 3 months and they're still hiding the fact that Kamala Khan is the main character in the game, and the avengers are just a side show. Hahahahahahaha. Talk about false advertisement. We all know why shes in the game. POLITICS.

What is this idea based on?

Still have to watch the full event but I watched the Thor mission.

The game sounds like a lot of fun to me. There is something a bit off on the animation, it lacks "weight". I want more impact. Also the flight controls looks quite stiff.

Still, looks like something I want to play

Still looks generic as fuck. I'm a huge MCU fanboy and this game definitely doesn't do it justice.

Nah, Kamala Khan is an interesting and funny character in the comics, similar to Miles Morales. I do think it's a strange pairing though, her with the "senior" Avengers. Spiderman or Wolverine would have been a better fit if they wanted to bring in a "special guest". I'm sure she will end up being fine within the game, I'm just not sure that it was the best choice. Where's Hawkeye? Ant/Giant-man?

Okay what's makes her interesting and funny? Her comics were so interesting that Marvel had to relaunch the series at least 3 times within the year. Miles isn't that great of a character either. He was better off in his own universe before merging with the 616.

Agree with you on the rest though.

I get the impression that this game had a really rough development. Remember when Square announced this like 4 years ago when Marvel was red hot?

It looks OK I guess?

Looks like one of those "High 7" games that were so prevalent in the 360 era, like Enslaved or Lost Planet

Absolutely serviceable, but devoid of any sort of spark (no Thor jokes pls)

Stop pulling this bullshit out of your arse by trying to use the fact that her book was "relaunched" multiple times. This is always a point to be made when talking about Ms Marvem and Captain Marvel books. The real fact is that for the past 5+ years Marvel gave been "relaunching" all their books in this manner. Thor, Spider-Man, Iron Man, captain America, Guardians of the Gakaxy, Black Panther, yiu name it, the books done it.
It has absolutely nothing to do with sales and everything to do with changing story arcs and/or new creative teams coming on board.

Not really bullshit, when their numbers 1 sell more than any other issue. It makes sense for them to do constant relaunches. Captain Marvel had a relaunch of the same team within the same year. This has nothing to do with changing teams or story arcs. For example, Venom had a change of team (Costa to Cates) (Remender to Bunn) and the direction of the current storyline but didn't relaunch. And hey comics in general have been on the decline for a while, in terms of quality and sales. Especially the Marvel side.

Ms. Marvel #1 ships 50k issues

vs.

Ms. Marvel #11 ships 27k issues

Not by much if you want more examples I can give them to you. And yes they've been doing this for awhile now but not because hey this story ends, lol, oftentimes series get axed too soon to make way for new number 1s.

Also I made a mistake, it was CAPTAIN Marvel that had the multiple relaunches within the year not Kamala. Although my point remains.

Game looked terrible aesthetically, and holy shit the framerate and stuttering was so bad even in their prerecorded trailer.

I can't remember the last time I saw a game have such bad performance at its own showcase.

An AVENGERS game and only 5 heroes. One of which is not an iconic character at all (didn't even show up until 2013). So really only 4 REAL Avengers. The Avengers had well over 100 members over the years. Only have 4 is criminal.

Where is:

Ant-Man (Goliath, Giant Man, Yellowjacket)
Wasp
Captain America
Hawkeye
Vision
Scarlet Witch
Hercules
Black Panther
Ms. Marvel
Wonder Man
Moon Knight
Namor
Quicksilver

Tons of others too

The problem with these numbers is that it doesn't include digital. We know that music, games and movies have substantial digital sales. Comics are the only mystery and we have no idea how many Marvel Unlimited subscribers there are.

The other problem is that people who try to push a certain agenda love to say that Ms Marvel and Captain Marvel don't sell well because of the constant #1's that they push out. The thing is, if a comic really truly is failing at sales, Marvel are more than happy to cut and cancel those comics. There are countless examples of Marvel comics being canned after 5 or 6 issues that weren't planned as a mini series. If the female Marvel books were bleeding money, why would they keep selling them?

Lastly, you changed your argument to say that comics in general are in a slump, thing is, you weren't saying that before. You were originally targeting only Ms Marvel and Miles, two "minority" characters. Why werent you targeting the Avengers as a whole? Why did you target them specifically if you believe the industry is in a slump?

Reason, why Marvel is pushing "new" female/ethic characters, is simply because they're been pushing agendas. Look at the state of current comics they've pushing a leftist agenda for years. Anyone who have opposing ideas are shunned. They start twitter wars with fans when they should just stick to creating books. They should be embracing opposing ideas not rejecting them.

And you never wonder why they cancel those books so early? Again that why I'm saying that's Marvel as a whole is bleeding but bleeding slow.

Reason being is because I target those two specifically is that everyone says they're great characters but never explain why. They don't have anything interest about them. Outside them being minorities. Their stories have been rehashes of older characters' stories with lamer results. Again, their comics don't sell even when current slump Marvel's in. They're not up there with current bigger comics. Ms. Marvel's first run was basically a boring slice of life comic. She doesn't have any faults as a character same as Miles. Her power set is garbage. It's even worst for Miles now that he's in the 616 universe, he can't be called Spider Man. He has to share universe 10 other spider man like characters. They're basically just made it clear that he's a token character in 616. These aren't major players in their own universe at all.

It is definitely not as polished as it should be at this point, and I don’t like the art style. I would have preferred they either went full MCU or full comic book. The characters as they are do not look good.

That said, I’m in a drought for comic book action adventure games. I will be picking this up and hope it ends up good overall.

Edit: Also, pretty sure NOBODY wanted Ms Marvel. How could SE opt for her over the likes of Wolverine, Hawkeye, Vision... really anybody else. Personally really wanted Agent Venom even though that was never likely to happen.

Problem with muslims friendo?
Is that a menace or what, friendo?
We’re not under Sharia, if he have a problem with Islam he should be fucking free to say it.

He's racist.
It’s an ideology, not a race.
What’s this kind of censorship going on here anyway? The gaming side is already a mess, if we now also have to walk on eggshells on certain topics just say it immediately so i can go faster than a lightning.

Complete nonsense.

We know from comichron sales tracking that most C list hero books like Ms Marvel sell ship around 20-30k copies to retailers. And that is being generous.

Yet somehow we are supposed to magically believe that digitally, these comics are selling hundreds of thousands, if not millions of copies, at the same price on digital platforms?

I have to agree with those saying that the playable characters roster is too small for an Avenger's game... there are so many that could be added.

As a fan of Marvel comics, and not just the MCU, I'll probably keep an eye on this to see how it is before deciding to get it. I do want more focus on the 616 universe again instead of just the MCU. I miss the first 2 Ultimate Alliance games.

No need to bring a religion into this , but agree it's pretty dull
Well Square Enix and Marvel started this, it's pretty much the only unique thing about this character and why she's desperately pushed for more people to like her.

Watch some more of the presentation, it looks like an Okish Avengers game awkwardly mashed together with a GaaS Destiny clone type game. Hopefully the story is good enough so it's worth it to pick it up once it's $15 to play through it once.

I wonder how it will do, I'm not a Destiny fun but I do at least thing the gunplay and core gameplay in that one is solid, which I think is a big reason why people continue playing it.... that doesn't seem to be the case here. The combat they show looks janky, floaty and lacking in weight. Also I know it's in development but some of the gameplay clips in the trailers look like they are running at like 15fps so I expect that much like Anthem this one will have framerate issues on current gen consoles.

I'm expecting the usual GaaS launch. People complaining about a lack of content, repetitive missions, tech issues, etc. The devs then promising fixes and new content and presenting some form of "Roadmap". I wonder how much difference the Marvel brand name will make when comparing this to say Anthem, Fallout 76 or The Division 1

-no faults? Are you serious? Kamala fucks up her life on a level that if Peter Parker weren't alive I'd assume he had been reincarnated into her. She loses quite a few battles, Christ her first attempt at stopping a crime results in her getting shot and being in serious condition. She's frequently late for important family events due to superhero-ing which causes her family to get increasingly frustrated with her. She starts getting so overwhelmed by trying to balance school, family, and superhero-ing that Tony has to talk to her and tell her she has to put her personal life as her first priority. She gets too worked up in a fight and leaves a criminal with severe injuries to a far higher degree than the situation called for. I forget the details, but there was one arc where due to misunderstandings Zoe doesn't trust Ms. Marvel. She trusts Carol when Carols starts using that program or whatever it was to "determine" if someone is going to commit a crime; she later realizes her mistake but only after ruining Josh's life (though fuck Bruno for trying to blame what happened to him on Kamala. Josh was being released the next day, so you wounding yourself by trying to free him was stupidity on your part and Kamala is not to blame for that).

Kamala not only has faults, she's probably one of the most flawed characters I've seen in a long while in Marvel/DC. Which is good, a young teen would naturally stumble quite a few times when first taking up superhero-ing.

-how is her power set "garbage"? It's perfectly serviceable for the sort of villains she fights. I think stretching/enlarging/shrinking makes for cool visuals for comic fights.

-yeah, a token character who was the lead of what many consider one of, if not the, best Spidey film, and is now getting the main focus of a PS5 launch title. Mindless Miles bashing is so 2015. Hell, I recently watched Linkara's review of the recent Champions book which has Miles and Kamala on the team and it sounded good, they took the whole "Spider-man makes a deal with Mephisto" idea from One More Day but actually made it make sense in the narrative without being insanely out-of-character as opposed to OMD which is arguably the worst thing to ever happen to Spidey, possibly Marvel as a whole, ever. Not to mention the whole deal from Mephisto comes from the fact that Kamala had been killed in battle and Mephisto can reverse it, oh shit, Kamala died in a fight? Just another flaw to add to the above list.

As for sales, it had been stated multiples times that her book sells quite high digitally, sometimes even reaching #1. Her primary demographic probably skews younger which is more likely to buy digital over physical so it makes sense.

Kamala Khan will be a main character in the 'Marvel's Avengers' game

In the story, it's five years after that event, and players will control the teenaged Ms. Marvel -- with her polymorphic powers and advanced healing ability -- as she attempts to put the Avengers team back together. Her "Embiggen" ability will see Khan grow to giant size in the game, complete with special animations for the enemies as they're reacting to a superhero that's three to four time their size.

This isn't a secret, people just want to fucking REEE and get mad a fictional bullshit. This article is 9 months old btw, they aren't hiding anything.

I think I'd take a smaller roster with better combat. Look at DMC, not to say that V wasn't an afterthought, but considering how many abilities Nero and Dante got V's moveset was just lacking so, so much.

Huh those storylines sound as though that sounds familiar like another character, like Spider Man. Real original. She is a character that isn't a major player. She sounds like any other character Marvel has pumped out and forgotten. Rehashed storylines. Mindless Miles bashing? Dude come on I've explained why he sucks in comics. I have said never he wasn't popular outside of comics. He can never be his own character as long Pete exists in the same universe. He'll play second fiddle. He'll be a token character until then.

Yeah her power set is garbage compare to other characters like Mr. Fantastic. Her powers don't make fights anymore interesting than someone with similar powers.

And actual book shipped show another story.

None of those stories are ripped off from Peter's, now you're just trolling. Being a B-lister is irrelevant, nobody outside huge nerds knew who the Guardians of the Galaxy were pre-2010's but that doesn't mean they sucked until casuals noticed them. Popularity does not automatically equate quality. You barely explained anything about Miles sucking in the comics other than his hero code name, wow, character "ruined" clearly. Also I guess all Green Lanterns suck based on that "logic" since there's thousands of them.

Why? Reed's powers don't let him become tiny or such. Also, honestly Reed is my least favorite of the F4, I think all the other members are more fun to follow than him.

Okay....and that doesn't equate TOTAL sales so basically you're admitting you choose to specifically focus on only one portion of the sales. And you didn't actually refute my argument that Ms. Marvel's readers are likely the kind to read digitally over physically.

Nah, you said yourself her "struggles" are pretty much like Pete's. Nah, she's a C-lister. Guardians were hugely connected to the Infinity Gauntlet storyline. Miles doesn't have his own universe to play off of like he did in the Ultimates. He has no rouge gallery to play off of. Now that's in the 616 he gets have Peter's hand downs. And essentially gets bumped down in the pecker of importance as a character. Well some of the Green Lanterns do suck.

Yes, growing tiny is an awesome power to have. Very unique. Very. /s I agree with you on that Torch and Thing were my favorites.

Well here's the thing digital sales are not that huge though. They haven't really proven that their Ms. Marvel out sells her physical ones.

Something being similar and flat out ripping off are two different things. Peter works for a newspaper, is raised by someone who isn't his biological parents, and his civilian identity has him as a glasses-wearing nerd. Well, guess Peter sucks because he "ripped off" Superman! Similar concepts are universal, Kamala being similar to prior superheros is no different from every superhero made post-Superman. Storylines are irrelevant, if your average Joe didn't know who the GOTG were pre-2010's, they were B-listers at best. So what if he fights the same villains, many legacy characters fought older villains and still had enjoyable comics. I mean, there's thousands of GLs so obviously not all of them are going to be winners (*cough* Kyle *cough*) but earlier you seemed to be writing Miles off purely because he was among 10 Spider-people so that's why I bought up GLs so if some GLs are interesting that negates the idea that "multiple characters of the same code name can't be interesting".

Okay, now you're agreeing with me. Which just confuses me, but whatevs.

They don't release digital numbers so you can't know how big their sales are. So if nothing's proven then you can't claim her book sells low when it comes to TOTAL sales. Sure, I also can't claim her book sells high, but regardless again sales don't equal quality.

Also, I missed this post earlier:

Kamala Khan sucks. I honestly think that the only reason people like Kamala is because she's Pakistani.

Please don't say shit like this. Just as people should be offended if not liking a character gets them called racist (unless they actually are being racist, or sexist or homophobic, about it), people should equally be offended by liking a character results in them being accused of being dishonest and only liking a character due to race/gender/orientation. Yes, the idea of a Muslim lead was intriguing to me as said culture had rarely been focused on in Marvel/DC, but I STAYED on the series because I genuinely liked Kamala and her book. I empathize with her, and can personally relate to her insecurity and anxiety she has sometimes. And it legit doesn't feel good to have my opinion dismissed in such a way. You're fine to dislike the book even if I disagree with lots of your points, hell at least you read it which is likely more than I can say for a good deal of the people bashing her in these game previews' comments, but I wouldn't call you racist or anything for doing so as you did nothing to suggest that, and likewise I'd appreciate it if you extended the same courtesy to us who are fans of her.
