Why do you think that? It looks like a genuine open world with seamless transitions between areas instead of the level based structure of 3D World.Looks to be more like 3d world than mario 64
It does. It looks very similar to the 3DS games. For people who actually are familiar with those, it's not really that different.Looks to be more like 3d world than mario 64 which is fine, but it means it's closer to 2d than 3d design.
Looks cute, graphics could be better but i'm sure i'll enjoy it.
Not convinced at all. Looks rough as of now, but so do all games from the Direct. Is the Switch REALLY starting to get obsolete in terms of graphics?
That’s how the stages look to me, you can see at points how there’s not much room to move around. Why do you think that? It looks like a genuine open world with seamless transitions between areas instead of the level based structure of 3D World.
Pretty much. People should go look up the 3DS games on youtube. That’s how the stages look to me, you can see at points how there’s not much room to move around.
3D world had a few bigger open areas as well compared to just a corridor. I definitely do not think it’s the traditional 3d open style ala mario 64, let alone an open world.
The kirby games have been playing it safe for a long time so I kinda think the 3d thing is mostly window dressing, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be fun. I’m looking forward to it.
Well the 3ds games are completely side scrolling unlike here but they are good and looked good.Pretty much. People should go look up the 3DS games on youtube.
Just because they're a bit on rails, doesn't mean they aren't incredibly polished and fun.
True. But they had the layered backgrounds, and everything was modeled in 3D which kind of gave it a similar look. Just basically widening the ground and giving him 8 way run now.Well the 3ds games are completely side scrolling unlike here but they are good and looked good.
Just hope there’s a big variety of powers and not just the obvious ones. Would be nice if it had power mixing ala kirby 64 but it doesn’t look like it.
I don't know, the way this looksThat’s how the stages look to me, you can see at points how there’s not much room to move around.

Well, power wise it belongs with the 360 and PS3. Now that we're fully into PS5 and Series X, the graphics of these "current-gen" games are going to look pretty rough. Not convinced at all. Im not surprised. Its hal labratories first 3d game. They probably are not ready for something like odyssey. This also looks to have fixed camerasLooks to be more like 3d world than mario 64 which is fine, but it means it's closer to 2d than 3d design.

Kirby + The Last of Us
Let him absorb Abby, i want to see the crazy power he gets
Maybe so. Often times a mainline Kirby game is Nintendo's sneaky way of telling you that they're wrapping up whatever console it comes out on:Not convinced at all. Looks rough as of now, but so do all games from the Direct. Is the Switch REALLY starting to get obsolete in terms of graphics?

Ever seen enslaved odyssey to the west? You might think it’s open world by looking at the scenery too lol. But trust me, it’s not. Wayyyy too much of a leap for yhe kirby team right now, not that I think open world kirby is necessarily a good idea.I don't know, the way this looks
tells me there's huge environments with no forced route, like in that pic you can obviously go forward through the main road but you can also go left or right and even down the river there seems to be platforms in the water here. There's other pics too that imply it's very exploration heavy instead of the focused platforming challenges of 3D World. We'll see.
Of course it is. Its graphical power is about equivalent to what the competitors had two generations ago.
So depressing. Its very obvious even Nintendos own games are struggling with how shit the Switch is. But is a Switch 2 realistically a big leap?
Kirby looks all right. Low budget somewhat, (Edit : still looks nice for 60fps) but still HD assets and sharp colors. Odyssey shows that the switch can absolutely hang with the more powerful consoles (sans resolution, texture resolution) when fully utilized.I mean, the SoC on the switch is from 2015.
It was obsolete when the switch launched.
Yeah. I hope this is an early area or something. It just seems so vanilla considering Odyssey exists. It's nice that Kirby finally gets a 3D game; What's not as nice is that he seems to lack any new features in his moveset. The gameplay was drastically changed when Mario, Zelda and Metroid went 3D. This? No change seemingly other than it being in 3D. The level design and visuals also look pretty meh.

Not so sure about Zelda. I adore Ocarina Of Time, but it's pretty much 3D ALTTP in my eyes. It's nice that Kirby finally gets a 3D game; What's not as nice is that he seems to lack any new features in his moveset. But yeah, not much of a leap from Wii U ; about twice as powerful in the best case scenario when switch doesn’t hit bandwidth limits.
Bare minimum, Nintendo should have customized the memory system for more speed. At least then there’d be no gpu bottleneck. Hypothetically, having 6GB ram, on a 96 bit bus (vs 64 bit) would have helped a lot and given memory capacity parity with ps4 ; switch OS uses less than 1 Gb so both systems would have 5 for games.
Nintendo could have used TX2 and that would have been near xbox one levels in a lot of ways, but it probably would have pushed the launch date to end of year minimum and cost Nintendo a pretty penny.
It was leaked but only a few hours beforehand. HAL had gone on record that they wanted to make Kirby more ambitious so a 3D game has been expected for a while. Was this game not leaked?
Don't remember if it was a 4chan leak or someone on Twitter but I'm pretty sure I read on this site that Kirby was going 3D that the team wanted to make a more ambitious Kirby game for the next one along with other leaks that I'd like to see again...
I couldn't disagree more with that assessment. The dungeons, the overworld, the music, the characters and amount of plot was expanded upon ad infinitum. The game has so much more going for it than LttP did.Not so sure about Zelda. I adore Ocarina Of Time, but it's pretty much 3D ALTTP in my eyes.
