I have an old Gateway desktop (upgraded with GTX1060 6GB and Corsair 650W psu) and the windows installation got so bad that I had to reset it to factory last week. I used to use SCPtoolkit before the reset and never had an issue.
In the week since the reset, Ive slowly been updating my PC. Im at the point where Ive got SP1, most of the major updates, .NET, DirectX, VC runtimes, Steam, etc all installed and running fine.
The problem is yesterday I tried getting my DS3 working with the PC and was met with endless frustration. I read about a DS3 driver from PSNow. PSNow doesnt work with win7 so I downloaded the standalone driver. No dice getting that to work in Steam.
I know enough about drivers that I always uninstall the drivers (DS3 driver in this case) before attempting to install a different one.
Decided to go back to SCPtoolkit and during the install was reminded that in Win7 you have to manually download and install the XBOX 360 controller driver. And I searched and searched and every single link was outdated or shady. I did download one driver that said 360 controller driver for win7 and ran the installer and got a msg saying it wouldnt work with my PC. I literally couldn't find a reliable link to the 360 driver and spent a LOT of time searching.
Normally I'd be too frustrated to bring this question up to anyone else, then I remembered GAF... some of you have to know either a better way that will actually work for my win7 pc, or at least direct me towards the 360 controller driver so I can proceed with scptoolkit like I used to.

Plz do not reply unless you have a method that you KNOW FOR SURE works on a Dualshock 3 + WIN7 - or are at least willing to help me nail down this specific problem. Most (all) searches on the internet will lead to solutions for either DS4, or Win8+
OR help me find a legit download of 360 controller driver for win7 so I can go back to using scptoolkit!
