So now that I've
killed the Dragon
, should I go to
Bitterblack Isle (haven't visited yet)
or
Everfall
?

Pawn: Isabell
Lvl: lvl 42

I was curious would the Duchess be down to clown with you if the PC is a lady?
Yep. Whether you're male, female, young or old, it's a non-factor. That quest is 100% scripted and it sucks. That's why I said I feel like it was put together by someone who doesn't understand the rest of the game at all.

It's up to you really. BBI is superior to everfall so do which ever you think is best.

Pardon this, but every class seems like it has its place and can be used on equal footing with any other class. Fighter could stand toe to toe with a warrior for ex.

So why is there both a mage and sorcerer? One seems like it's the evolution of the other. If sorcerer was say a necromancer who only did dark arts and summons that'd be cool.

Any tips for doing better damage as a magic archer? It feels like my attacks do nothing.

That class has a really low attack power growth for its supposed main attack stat, only 2 Magick Attack per level up.

To compensate, you need to:
- level up a bunch of times as Sorcerer.
- get Acuity from Sorcerer and Attunement from Mage.
- I would recommend to get Clout from Warrior as well since yes, you need to get physical every once in a while and Immolation is physical based.
- Find stronger equipment.

What is the quest I’m supposed to do early that I can miss?

Escort or something?

Thanks!

I think there are a couple in the starter town that become available after you reach the fort and fight the
Hydra
. That fight unlocks an escort quest that takes you to the capitol; go home first instead of jumping right into that one.

I thought there was an important quest though that can be missed.

What's the best gift your pawn ever got from assisting other Arisen? Mine is liquid vim or salubrios brew.

Actually someone turned to really like her and decided to give her full abyssinal set and Sigfried Mask.

Yea I was so excited to get to the Shadow Fort part that I raced to Gran Soren

Is the second part of Witchwood special?

I watched a video of L& F and it seems pretty meh

The really important part is that it gives you the quest that will lead to Arisen Bond. And AFAIK the only place you can find Metal Golems in the main game pre Final Battle.

I don't see the issue. seriously guys, by this time you had already been romancing her so many times it was leading up to it.

Yoy guys had plenty if opportunities to bail out that relationship.

Most people don't get lucky enough to even get this quest unless they pester her constantly.

Pester her constantly? LOL what?

You go from zero affection to max affection by speaking to her for a total of 3 conversation in one go, lol. She goes from not knowing you to claiming you are the love of her life in the span of 5 minutes, lol.

In fact, you need to actually do specific things in a specific manner specifically to avoid the game shoehorning her as your beloved, that is if you still want to complete all the quests.

The forced relationship with the duchess was so weird, but not as weird as my beloved being a merchant I found a bunch of items for instead of her. Just so damn random lol.

Laughing Banana

Weeping Pickle
Yea just a pro-tip: if you have A, B, C, D, E, and F at max affection, whomever you talk to before launching Deny Salvation will be automatically chosen as your beloved. So for example if you want Mercedes, you'd better be not raising any other characters' affection or talk to any max-affection character(s) after her quest is being concluded and before you finish Deny Salvation.

And yes, this disregard whomever you give the Arisen's Bond to.

There are 2 ways to get Arisen bond so I’m good

Plus my main is a girl this time so I’m not really focusing on romance. I got the Duchess at the end on 360 for my dude so I’m really just into combat/exploring/grinding

This, plus the fact that the quest is necessary to reach the Blighted Manse, which is honestly one of the best and most fun non-BBI dungeon to explore in the game, so it sucks to miss out on it, but you have to endure that ridiculous, out of character "romance" storyline to unlock it.

Heading to the Shadow Fort at night with my 2 Gaf pawns, my two girls, and Mercedes.

We are a five-lady wrecking crew.

This game has those Souls/Skyrim exploration feels. So good.

Totally optional tho.
Look I get it, but again if you don't like her , don't talk to her and ignore her quest.

If you don't mind, than deal with her hormones and easy way of falling in love with you.

Lol

I would not flat out say "don't use Guardian"
I mostly play solo, but If I'm playing with my pawn, I like him to stay close and not be wasting time looting for me, also sometimes pawns that wonder far off end up getting knocked out out of cliffs or are to slow to catch up when you simply want to run out harms way.

Bottom line is ,
if you like playing the game (often drawing aggro) with just one pawn and not have to baby sit them
I would choose Guardian/ utilitarian.

But given that most people prefer range type Arisens (magic archers, rangers, mages, ect) I could see how the guardian class has a bad reputation.
The only real use I can see for Guardian is if you want a pawn who doesn't fight. That can be useful if you're planning to run through areas that you're way underlevelled for, and don't want your pawn to engage any enemies. I tend to think that in that case you'd be better off killing your pawn and playing solo for that stretch though. The other behaviours you mentioned that you're trying to avoid are covered by the Acquisitor and Pioneer inclinations, so just avoid those.

So now that I've
killed the Dragon
, should I go to
Bitterblack Isle (haven't visited yet)
or
Everfall
?
Definitely start with the latter. It's a natural progression from there to the other option. You'd be wasting your time if you did them the other way round. Caveat though: don't actually complete the main quest in that latter area. Just explore it thoroughly, then head to the other place. Completing the main quest in the latter area will finish the game.

But why does no one’s mage have healing???
Mine does, and most Mages should. The healing spells are called Anodyne and High Anodyne. Sorcerers can't have healing though, so maybe you're looking at Sorcerers? Their class icon is quite similar, Sorcerer just has the extra flourishes on the staff. Sorry if you already knew those things, some people are just starting the game so might not be aware.

In fact, you need to actually do specific things in a specific manner specifically to avoid the game shoehorning her as your beloved, that is if you still want to complete all the quests.
Quests aside, the funny thing is that if you leave the castle the first time via anything but the main doors, you'll never even meet her.

I did a quest a while ago to find a grimoire for a fucken stranger on the street. I was in the middle of cult questing when I met him so I was totally convinced I’d see him later as an evil necromancer. But! I did see him later as a boss-fight buddy! He just appeared at the top of a tower in the middle of nowhere beyond a treacherous mountain pass... guess he was in the neighborhood? That was a nice touch though.

That whole tower was the Dark Soulsest part of the game yet. NPC summon for the boss, tricky jumps and falls to get to cool loot.

Lol nah. Beating off in the corner while watching her engage in some kinky ducal chokeplay was the second time I encountered her. Girl went from hat-snatching to snatch-presenting like *that*.

Not true. In my first playthrough after finishing her quests I went home instantly to gift Selene numerous time before proceeding to Salvation quest and yet Grigori chose her over Selene. And that's with me constantly throwing her into the sewer for lulz during the escape whenever she complained she couldn't walk.

I eventually had to grab and kick her in post game to get her out of the ending.

Regarding heals, I think it's worth noting sorcerer is the one that can cure petrification.

Grigori strikes again ladies and gentlemen!
LoL 5years later and this never gets old.

ahh ok that works. So Mage ould be great for pawns then. I saw both did enhancements and assumed both could heal and buff

Right, though since it's only a matter of equipping augments Sorcerers can become as effective as Mages should you choose. Mages also can't cure Petrification and stat lowering while Mages can.

Basically the most major difference between them is HP curing for Mages and high end highly destructive offensive spells for Sorcerers.

As for Grigori, you haven't experienced his full dating service yet if you never got Fournival, Caxton, or Asalam as your beloved.

I feel sorry for Grigori's fate, but that doesn't give him excuse to decide my marriage.

I never understand why Capcom decided to shoehorn her to the players.
Considering Quina, Selene and to some extent Mercedes are the only waifus who noticed the difference in the ending
Probably would have preferred Fournival if it wasn't the eye hurting scene after beating Grigori.

Romance is a powerful element in Dragon's Dogma and heck, even Dark Arisen's, lore, so it's a shame the underlying system for that in the game is so whack.

It's true, and I was so excited by the thought of that spell back in vanilla... but in practice I was hugely disappointed with it. If you're fighting a Cockatrice then potions are the way to go in my opinion.

The longer the fight, the more petrification you're going to get, so I prefer all pawns go in guns blazing for those fights, rather than having a Sorcerer taking their sweet time casting high voidspell. Too many casting interruptions can spell trouble, and if they die, you're in big trouble. Potions never let you down :)

Agreed it's pretty much useless in vanilla where cockatrice and evil eyes aren't even that common, not to mention pawns with sufficient knowledge would dodge the attacks effortlessly.

I only equip it onto my pawn when farming in hard mode BBI to save spaces for HP recovery items since I get 1-2 shot by pretty much everything as glass cannon assassin and would die before mages could heal me lol.

So after I beat the Gryffin, how far along am I?

I know things are different in NG+ but I probably don’t care to play it; I don’t know anything about B.B. Island but I’m definitely not up for a gear-grind.

Update on pawn:

PSN ID: LuckyDoobage
Pawn name: Aya
Pawn level: ~90
Pawn vocation: Mage
Utilitarian /challenger. Super healer; she’s decked out with an adept’s healing cloak, wyrmking ring, and mage’s band w/ grand anodyne.

Show her some love and bring her along your pre/ post Daimon BBI adventures. :)

You're almost done if you fought him at Bluemoon tower. Take your time in the final dungeon as there is lots of new, more powerful equipment even in mundane looking gathering spots.

I did a near perfect run this time using the steam guide and this game has so much to be missed that I never even knew about. The blessed flower item that is time sensitive for a full game day but doubles exp. Killing yourself on purpose with the godsbane item to reset chests and reduce the reloading process.

I have had a ton of fun all over again. I am doing the Everfall currently and I haven't even touched BBI. This is my first time playing through Dark Arisen too. I would've liked the 60 fps but it feels smooth as hell and the lighting seems a ton better.

Well this was painful
Sent over 28 BBI lv2 armor/weapon/gear and a couple of lv3 gear over to my alt account
Only 10 made it there

Guess I shouldn't have dumped all of that at once
Live and learn :/

10 items maximum send limit, across all gifts/pawns per sleep. So if you rent eleven pawns and all get a gift, one isn't arriving.
