Don’t worry their time will come too. Apple has its own streaming service and making movies and shows as we speak. Mark my words, a day will come, Apple will change its policy for movies and streaming etc. That day Hulu, Netflix etc will have the same destiny as Microsoft’s Xcloud. Two words: Netflix. Hulu.
How is Xcloud any different?
Also, Google has Stadia--a direct competitor--and they still support Xcloud. Apple is just being greedy bitches like Sony.
Have you seen Apple's TV offerings? I don't think focusing exclusively on PG-13 (or less) content will scare Netflix et al. anytime soon.Don’t worry their time will come too. They are still very young in this industry. Like gaming, movies too need time to be made. They need more experience. I think that later on their output will contain more adult/sex content.Have you seen Apple's TV offerings? And that's their plan so far, no "adult" content (as in, targeted at adults, not necessarily porn - although of course they are against porn too, the prudes they are).
Pls, most of those "toxic people" went and buy PS4...xbox live is known to have a toxic culture, im not surprised they don't want that toxicity permeating through their golden goose
Looks to me like MS doesnt want to pay that 30%
Everybody wants a piece of that pie.
I wouldn't be surprised if Apple was asking for a cut in sales made inside the app.
There definitely is some hypocrisy on Microsoft's part, Apple iOS devices are basically consoles with the same rules.
Flip it around and if Apple had a cloud gaming service do you think MS would allow that on Xbox ?
Hell no they wouldn't same reason why GeForce Now or other cloud streaming services are not present on Xbox.
Steam Home streaming is allowed on iOS because its local LAN & it disables game purchase so only what you own from buying on PC works. Shadow (a cloud PC service) works on a subscription service so it basically a remote desktop and is also allowed on iOS.
So I think it a bit of a stretch for MS to call out Apple on this.
The ironic thing is that iOS has never worked like an OS (in the traditional sense) and macOS is certainly moving to that direction.because they need to behave more like a OS, like windows does
Can you make purchases in the xcloud app? If so that's your reason.
