Two words: Netflix. Hulu.

How is Xcloud any different?

Also, Google has Stadia--a direct competitor--and they still support Xcloud. Apple is just being greedy bitches like Sony.
Don’t worry their time will come too. Apple has its own streaming service and making movies and shows as we speak. Mark my words, a day will come, Apple will change its policy for movies and streaming etc. That day Hulu, Netflix etc will have the same destiny as Microsoft’s Xcloud. 😂😂😂

Have you seen Apple's TV offerings? I don't think focusing exclusively on PG-13 (or less) content will scare Netflix et al. anytime soon.

And that's their plan so far, no "adult" content (as in, targeted at adults, not necessarily porn - although of course they are against porn too, the prudes they are).

They are still very young in this industry. Like gaming, movies too need time to be made. They need more experience. I think that later on their output will contain more adult/sex content.

Go Go Neo Rangers!
I find it super strange they call out streaming in particular. It's almost like they want streaming games to themselves even though they have no product that does that.

Isn't this really down to that both Apple and Google want a % cut of all in-app purchases for every app that are hosted on eiter Playstore or Appstore? On android, MS can get away with it by not being on playstore, and just let users install the app through an sms or other means, but on an iDevice there are no orher way to install the app, but through AppStore. (without jailbreaking it)

There definitely is some hypocrisy on Microsoft's part, Apple iOS devices are basically consoles with the same rules.

Flip it around and if Apple had a cloud gaming service do you think MS would allow that on Xbox ?

Hell no they wouldn't same reason why GeForce Now or other cloud streaming services are not present on Xbox.

Steam Home streaming is allowed on iOS because its local LAN & it disables game purchase so only what you own from buying on PC works. Shadow (a cloud PC service) works on a subscription service so it basically a remote desktop and is also allowed on iOS.

So I think it a bit of a stretch for MS to call out Apple on this.

Don't you just love it when all these megacorps fight for a share of digital wallet while giving no shits about the end consumer?
Sometimes capitalism is taking it too far... Also, fuck Apple and their stonewalled gardens.

Apple Blocks Facebook Update That Called Out 30% App Store 'Tax'

Apple said the update violated an App Store rule that doesn't let developers show "irrelevant" information to users. The feature lets Facebook users buy tickets for online events directly through the app. Apple's rules say that purchases of digital content have to use the App Store's payments system, giving Apple 30 percent of the total. Facebook says it asked Apple to waive this fee so that all of the revenue could go to event organizers, but Apple refused. The feature is now available, but without the message about Apple's 30-percent cut. Earlier this month, Facebook released an image showing what the message would look like in the app. The planned message on Android was expected to read "Facebook doesn't take a fee from this purchase." According to Reuters, that message doesn't show up in the version of the app downloaded through Google Play, either.

Imagine if MS allowed a streaming service like Geforce now on their Windows OS!!!!!

Oh, wait they do. And PS now, and basically anything else under the sum.

The arguments and massive antitrust lawsuits coming Apples way is directly because they need to behave more like a OS, like windows does.

Can you make purchases in the xcloud app? If so that's your reason.

Actually I can confirm after using the Android Game Pass app for streaming that you can NOT make purchases through the app. When you try to go to the DLC store it tells you that feature is disabled.

That pretty much nullifies this entire argument.

Also I want to mention that I'm purchasing a Note 20 5G today and getting off iPhone specifically because they won't allow Game Streaming apps.
