You've only played PlayStation games your entire life? Dude I'm so sorry to hear that.As a Playstation gamer for 25 years, and never played Halo in my life. Are you saying I won't have a good time if I buy it?

I think you are better off with playing Masterchief collection at least you get the full story.
As the overall lore is alright and fun at times.
Halo 1 alone? Honestly not really.

That's a child, man.Which way fellow incels![]()
Halo was primarily known for its multiplayer. I can't say I have much desire to revisit the campaign of CE.
That's a child, man.
Western devs seem like more normal people to me.
Most games at the time didn't. Goldeneye and Mario Kart were also known for their multiplayer, yet the N64 didn't even have online capabilities. The first Halo didn't even have online MP.
Maybe I heard the wrong discourse, but I played the campaign a few years after it came out (like 2 years later on PC) and it was alright. It was most certainly no Half-Life. I remember it for the split-screen matches or LAN partiesThe game was celebrated for it's SP campaign. I agree that the SP went downhill after Halo:CE, and it became more about MP then. But the series roots began in a stellar SP that was transformative for the genre on consoles.
SP 8the game sure plays like a old fucking game
Shit pathing
Shit controls for warthog
Cringe as fuck dialogue
I honestly don't want to play anymore and at the end of the second mission lol.
It looks alright but it all hangs together with paperclips
It's a 6.5 at best.
Whoever rates this an 8 is fucking high
Sorry if posted already, didn't want to derail the OT either but man... not even 5 mins into the video and it's insane how much of the original's charm is completely absent.
I'm sorry but people who gas up this slop (and yes I said the S-word) deserve all the bad the industry peddels them imo.

There are no invisible walls in Halo Combat Evolved. You can't ignore details like this it's super important.eh i mean... some of those complaints are a real stretch to be upset about.. I can drive slightly further out of bounds in the original.
man i wish that was the biggest issue in my life, 99% of people wouldnt even know that was a change. There are no invisible walls in Halo Combat Evolved. You can't ignore details like this it's super important.
Nah it's not. Not understanding concepts like this is why Halo today is in the trouble that is in.man i wish that was the biggest issue in my life, 99% of people wouldnt even know that was a change.
its very very very nitpicky...
You can attack the weak point for massive damage
The new controls for the Warthog are fucking atrocious.the game sure plays like a old fucking game

An I playing a different game? because it controls the same to me!The new controls for the Warthog are fucking atrocious.
The Warthog always had stick based and aim based controls. The new L2/R2 with stick controls are ass and putting it back to sticks made the Warthog feel way better. An I playing a different game? because it controls the same to me!
I didn't change any settings and it feels the same to me.The Warthog always had stick based and aim based controls. The new L2/R2 with stick controls are ass and putting it back to sticks made the Warthog feel way better.
Controlling the Hog in Campaign Evolved doesn't feel like the OG at all.
When is the last time you played CE?I didn't change any settings and it feels the same to me.
I play it most years. You just control the warthog with both sticks no? Whats different? When is the last time you played CE?
Just to make sure I wasn't imagining things I just booted up both MCC and Campaign Evolved and went back and forth with the default controls own both games. Campaign Evolved's new controls do not feel the same until you switch them in the menu to aim based which is how they functioned in the original.
The original controls were always moving with left stick and "aiming" where you go with the right stick. The L2/R2 + left stick does not control nearly as well and the warthog instantly becomes less slippery feeling when you switch back.
The original controls (or aim based in Campaign Evolved) have you moving the vehicle with forward/backward with the left stick and turning with the right stick/camera. The new controls use R2 for forward, L2 for reverse, and the left stick to control direction so like a modern racing game. The issue is the underlying physics for the Warthog are the same as before so the new controls make the Warthog feel more slippery.I play it most years. I know I'm not alone either because I watched multiple people bring it up in impression videos, and I just finished the last episode of Defining Duke and Matty talked about it for a bit.
I'm playing on PS5 Pro so maybe? My controls were set to "driver based" or whatever they have it called and after like 5 minutes of it feeling bad I decided to look in the settings and changed it to aiming based.I don't know what to tell you except the default behaviour on the XSX controls the warthog exactly as in all previous halos. All stick based, it drives where you aim.
Maybe the default setting is different per platform?
