Then gaming will survive on the current install base for the forseeable future on current platforms. $1000K + next-gen consoles are going to be DOA.
 
In a realness, it does make me sad that a lot of gamers will either be priced out of this hobby that they have enjoyed most of their lives, or go into debt to keep enjoying it.

Sorry I meant Series S. I fixed my post. But still it was a great buy to get that used console at that price.

Yep, they dragged price increases out as long as they could too. Basically everyone is screwed. I expect Sony to try and hold out through the Holidays but we will see.

PS6 might be higher than $1000 after all.

Of course they will. Microsoft went first though and at the worst possible time for potential console buyers. The only thing they get credit for is pulling a Nintendo and announcing it ahead of time. If Sony can hold out until the Holiday's they will still be in good shape. This is the final nail in the Series generation coffin.
 
Sony/Microsoft were waiting for Rockstar to announce anything GTA related so they could get away with some horrible news the day after

Those prices are just ridiculous. What a timeline we are in, jesus.
 
So when Sony was saying they are looking to produce less systems to save more money....we may have our answer.

Im gonna go out and say there's a very high chance that playstation is in supply constraints this holiday. It could be COVID levels of constraints again.

I think they will look to not increase prices and take the hit to get as many as they can sold to end users, but still look to control stock the best they can to reduce the overall exposure. I just can't see a world where a ps5 pro goes to a grand, or over and ps5 is like whatever this abomination of pricing is from Xbox.

Holy shit, this whole industry is fucked thanks to Scam Altman and the boys!

It's only 32 degrees where I am. I remember going to Spain when I was a kid and it was 40+ in the 90s but yeah, our buildings are made to retain heat because of the harsh winters so it's kinda impossible to cool down.

I'll say it. Everybody on the fence - go get a Switch 2 ASAP. It's better than a Series S, the future is way brighter, and it's also cheaper… and who on earth is trusting Microsoft on anything at all right now. Even diehard fans have to be concerned. I'm fortunate to have multiple consoles and handhelds and as of yesterday, a PC, but Switch 2 right now looks like a steal in this climate. If I didn't have one, I would if it was at all financially feasible to do so.
