Sure, developers always wanted to make money obviously. But games weren’t made by ticking checkboxes and shoving down politics wasn’t the main point. You tell me to give you examples... I feel like you just don’t want to see it, it’s everywhere. Just take a look at anywhere in media (not just games). But for example: GTA VI will be a politically correct title. GTA, the series of which one of the most important pillars was making fun of politics. Or look at Mass Effect Andromeda. Hiring blue haired pc cultists (I’m not sure if it was the producer but someone in high position was also openly racist, like really racist against whites) and putting in their bullshit in the game was more important than developing a worthy sequel. Or Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the writing was horrible thanks to the woke bullshit, I made a thread about it here, if you are really interested. I could go on and on, but if you don’t see it then I can tell you 100 examples and you will still call it overreacting.

I thought Odyssey was a fun little romp for 30 hours and then I got bored. The writing was typical Ubisoft trash.
But honestly, the Assassins Creed series always had shit tier writing except AC2 and Brotherhood.
Like I said, calling the industry being killed by wokism, and you can list three titles one of which isnt even out, how can you not be overreacting dude?

The main thing potentially impacting this series was the whole situation with THQ tanking, and then THQ being absorbed by Deep Silver, Deep Silver doing business with Koch Media, and then Deep Silver then being absorbed by Embracer.
Look at Deep Silver's releases in the past 5-7 years, organize by 'new' and filter out remasters. Dead Island's sequel that's still nowhere to be found is more proof.

People enjoy the genre. GTA has been stuck on 5 for a decade and there wasn't much other big competition besides Watch Dogs and True Crime/Sleeping Dogs(which is now a dead franchise).
Also GAF is in a bit of a bubble when it comes to what's deemed popular here, or it could be favoritism at play
All I know is, when a dormant JRPG franchise comes back with a sequel that doesn't change much, barely anyone on GAF questions it and instead mostly celebrate that it's back(aside from Tri Ace games which everyone makes fun of). When a western game franchise does the same, it's generally met with negativity and tons of questions about why it doesn't evolve the genre it's in. I'm sure the same thing will happen once the next Dead Island finally shows gameplay. It's odd but I guess it's how things go around here.

I pre-ordered this. I like the zaniness of the Saints Row Games and was probably 1 of the 100 people or so who bought their Agents of Mayhem game and I liked that too. I know people may flip out over this but I haven't been big into GTA. The last one I played was 4 (Let's go bowling, Roman). I think because SR doesn't take itself seriously, it is easier for me to relax and play after a rough day at work lol.

Liking a fucking game doesn't mean someone is in PR or some shit, clearly the games moved millions enough for them to even continue to exist. So I never understand the stupidity of trying to force some narrative that someone works for the company cause they disagree with you. This isn't the first Saints Row game, that wasn't the first BF title.. the point being made is think they look awful or something can just be applied to the other titles. Yet here we are with them still releasing. What are going to say after? All that like those games or buy them or something all work for PR? So maybe the gaming community needs to take a step back and realize someone not liking something isn't really speaking for the majority. So anyone saying they'd buy this or something magically didn't turn into some PR person, they might simply be those gamers that bought the other titles. Its not like they are selling zero or something lol

I've yet to come in here and start some personal attack on any user who dislikes the game saying something like "I'm just noticing a pattern" or "weren't you" (irrelevant comment about a different thread to try to deter users from talking about the game...)
If you feel the game looks bad, you are free to feel that way.
I haven't gone off topic to talk about another thread in hopes of swaying users from commenting on the game, I haven't told you to pick your fights if you say anything negative about this title.... Someone liking this game and simply bringing up that what we are seeing can be applied to the whole series just can't be seen as a "fight" and I don't know why gamers tend to want to see it that way. Someone is buying this shit, its not the first game in the series and someone having a different opinion on the title needs to stop being seen as a fucking fight or some PR person cause they have a different opinion.

I'm just hoping that after they release this, they'll focus some of their efforts on the Saints Row 2 patch for PC that IdolNinja had worked on. He deserves to have his work completed, especially since he eventually found the long-lost source code for the game and nearly completed the patch before he passed. Steamworks online multi-player with a non-buggy PC port of the game with all of the DLC sounds amazing.
