Street Fighter 6 is releasing in 2023

Nah, this is not for me... This game's aesthetic is clearly geared towards a younger, more "modern" streamer crowd - you know, all these kids whose biggest dream it is to become a streamer and whose favorite people are streamers.

I'm gonna tell you one thing: when a game's evolution is dictated by marketing - it's always a bad thing. If a game's evolution is dictated solely by the artist's/director's visions - like it ought to be in art - it has the potential to be good.

That's why most of todays games industry simply sucks: because it is solely dictated by money and marketing.

Okay I don't like THIS. As with Chun-Li, who while looking good clearly lost her upper muscles, here it is even more blatant. I loved Cammys muscles in V. Though yes new arstyle is slightly more realistic I get it, I will learn to love it. Also probably just need to see actual hd gameplay and not a leak.

Btw, new pose looks whack compared to V.

It's a focus attack, which required 0 bars but a lot of time to activate.
It definitely eats 1 drive bar, it's written there in the screen shot.
I agree, haven't read this more carefully and I was thinking this was basically just a focus attack, but sure reads to be more more powerful than that
I almost forgot about what happened when you released a full focus attack, but they were slow in sf4 and didn't cost any meter. I'm guessing they'll be a little after this time around because they cost meter.

Capcom just need to show us more asap.

People have been complaining about the diminishing amount of single player content, so they're leaning in hard to the single player component. I think it's smart for bringing in new or lapsed players. Obviously the stalwarts aren't gonna be that interested in that side of things, but that's not who it's for.
It is the biggest thing getting me really excited for this game aside from just looking great and fluid! After playing Soul Calibur 6, I wanted more games to have a robust single player campaign. Like SC6, it seems to have a character creator to use in the adventure mode. I think it is a good way for us more casual players to get used to the mechanics and not worry about being competitive. I really appreciate Capcom listening to both kinds of fans as they also added a commentary mode for more competitive players.

Holy poop. I hope all the Supers are not that long or even cinematic. It breaks the flow of the game unless that is like a Super that ends with a round or match win and even then it should be skippable
I hate long supers in fighting games! Can't believe this is still a thing amongst devs whose job it is to know what people like and do not like in fighting games...mk11 had insufferable supers...

Its the SF2 pose. The more they distance themselves from that SF5 crap the better.

After watching more videos online in 4k and checking out official website and the unofficial videos im a lot more happy and looking forward to this game, especially after seeing the cammy footage, although for me im just happy playing the online or offline 1v1 not interested in going round a 3d world etc, plus think cammy looks good in the leaked shots, prefer less big muscular female characters in games

5 takes place before 3. 6 is the first SF to take place after 3.

Odd there's not a single SF3 rep in the starting roster though. Sean would have been a sensible choice.
Some parts of SFV happens after SF3 according to its game director. SF6 (or at least the character profiles we saw) happens years after SFV.

Not sure what muscles do you talk about. But they reduced her boobs as happened with Chun and covered more their body. But well, at least they didn't censor the classic costume.

Other than this, Cammy and Chun 3D models look awesome. Maybe you simply got a bad frame of that awful quality video.

Ouch, I almost forgot how ugly SSF2T HD Remix was.

Plus hope on the xbox series x and ps5 plus pc the graphics are stepped right up from the ps4, as wouldnt like to think the game held back by them staying with ps4

Assuming SF6 releases as a full-priced title, I do hope things like Cammy's leotard will be baked into the purchase and not offered as DLC or through pre-order shenanigans. With Capcom and the whole genres focus on streamed--and occasionally televised--events, I can accept they want certain types of default outfits, just don't nickle-and-dime me for classic gear and a few outfits with extra sex appeal.

As for what we can guess is the initial roster, Capcom has thrown so many characters into the SF franchise it's almost impossible not to be underwhelmed with these choices; it'd help more, if I thought the designs for the old characters were better and was interested in any of the new faces. I'm still trying to put my finger on what's really bothering me about the look of these 22 characters, though I'm thinking it's how fussy all their clothing appears. they've drifted into that over-designed territory, similar to the new characters in the recent KoF.

Otherwise, I hope they're still working on the 3D models, especially Chun-Li. Her new outfit isn't horrible and the model appears OK enough in some actions, but other times she looks like an alien, which usually comes down to her upper body being seriously out of proportion to her thighs. Also, hobo Ken...I mean, it's better than banana hair, but my man can't catch a break.

The costumes and design is literally out of late 90s, early 2000s hip-hop aesthetic. This is the exact *opposite* of being designed for a younger, more “Modern” streamer crowd.

This isn’t dictated by marketing, unless you have some behind-the-scenes info that only you are privy to. This is a style that has been done before with Third Strike and one that fans have been clamoring for for *years*.

Hardly. I do agree with you that many AAA titles *are* dictated heavily by marketing and money, but AAA is only a very small fraction of the gaming industry at large these days. Indie, A, and AA make up much more of the average releases these days and have for years.

It seems like a third strike throwback for sure. Ryu has the Oro sash on. Everyone seems to have guard impacts again.

Havent been a fighting gamer since the 90s.

But got to say the female character's legs/thighs look retarded in SF games. What's with the Arnold Schwarzenegger proportions?

Also Ken is a literal bum now. Feels bad man.

Hope this isn't the true. Because sounds more like ND drama bullshit imo. Btw isn't this more akin to Guile?

Btw I like Cammy ultra on SF4 as well. Hope the game keeps more closer to it.

And best of all, it has the *animations*. Third STrike had some of the greatest animations of any fighter and it seems they put that same attention and care of details here. I am SO hyped for this one!

I'm honestly a bit hyped too. Was pretty underwhelmed with 4 and didn't bother with 5.

I'm more into 3D fighters. But this might be a purchase. It looks fantastic.

Wasn’t a huge fan of 4 (mostly because of the artstyle, not because it was a bad game, it was honestly pretty fantastic), wanted to love 5, but the lack of content early on and insulting monetization methods used later caused me to avoid it completely. I am hoping this is a return to the glory of Capcom fighters. They are some of the best when they put all their effort into a release.

Everyone loves street fighter again now thats its multi-platform lol.

So strange how people hated SF5 but didnt even own the console to play it on and judged it….

I have a PS4 and hated the SF5 mechanics.
Still playing SF4 on PS4 since I've been playing SF4 on Xbox 360.
There is nothing to do with exclusivity. Making the game easier to play destroy any chance of getting better and better unlike the previous SF games. There is no sense of acomplish in SF5 for me.

I liked both but plenty people didnt even play SF5 and hated it. I prefered SF5 altogether but played SF4 way more

I have a PS. I think most people are probably interested in SF6 for 2 reasons. 1) The single player exploration segments, 2) More color, slightly better art style and animations.

In contrast, SF5 didn't have any single player at launch. Casual fans are most attracted to this. Online multiplayer is primarily for the hardcore fans.

It's a bit hard to make decisive statements on SFVI yet with these blurry, low-res screenshots and videos floating around, but while I also do miss the female muscles from V (getting them to look both sexy & strong, and look like actual fighters/martial artists), I also understand that VI is going for a different art style with more realism meaning muscle definition and proportions are also going to be a bit more realistic. It's a trade-off.

But it's also why I'm saying, regardless what console you get this on, definitely also pick it up on PC. The modders will do glorious things with this game just like they did with SFV 😁

Thinking on it, I like Cammy's Ultra 1 from SF4 more.

Jesus they might as well just make him fat and bloated while at it. Might end up being the most depressing storyline in the game.

I'm happy the aesthetic is going back to 3S, I think the backgrounds are actually taking more from 2I than 3S which is good because 2I had way better backgrounds than 3S. But if they're really going to 3S style in all aspects, they're gonna need some house and jungle/DnB tracks too.

Interesting pro opinion.

He's not a fan of parries? Hmm...I kinda understand. They definitely were spammable in 3S. But, they're also a great risk/reward defensive option.

Plus it seems they have a meter gauge to control how often you can do parries in this one. I'm more interested in what sounds like there are two timing windows for parries. A looser one that I guess will just negate block damage like Just Defend, and one where you need to be frame-accurate but you get cancel options like parries in the SF3 games? At least that's how I read it.

strange, the state of play trailer only showed PS4/PS5
I was thinking sony had gone for exclusivity again but ig not

Sony always does that for games at their own events, even if they're multiplat. It's not like they're obligated to advertise for the other platforms tho, so it's fair.

Contrast that with MS who will show other platform logos even for multiplats at their own events. But, they're probably scared of another Rise of the Tomb Raider situation developing which is a reason they likely do that.

Black_Stride

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
This look a lot better the 5 to me.

You know people with different tastes and all that jazz.
But this looks stunning.
Im sold as shit.

And I dont get all the Chun Li hate.....she looks "old"? What the fuck is up with people, its an awesome costume and her face looks great.
I hope the vocal minority doesnt get to Capcom and they decide to change things.
The game looks amazing any mechanical problems we will only really know after launch, and they can fix those, but from what we have seen I dont know how Street Fighter fans can be so negative.....but then again it is NeoGAF so theres always a bunch of naysayers who seemingly dont actually enjoying playing games they just enjoy complaining about games.

That's always how it's done. When Fatal Frame was announce on Nintendo Direct there was only the Switch logo, even tho it was on all platforms.
