If Sony won’t buy it MS should. It’s way too big a gaming franchise to let die. Cmon Sony or MS. It the IP and put the full might of UE5 behind it.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
The story got so convoluted and bloated, it was retconned to hell and back every other game. It's probably best he does a new tactical espionage action/operations game without tying it into that IP, everyone would acknowledge it as a hopefully more relevant and well thought out successor.

Cmon Konami, stop hoarding the IP, and sell Kojima’s baby bank to him where it belongs. Certain games should Always be in the industry, Mario, MGS, Halo, Zelda…..cmon now it’s been too long.

Yeah, but without Kojima making them, it might get brutally bastardized.

I'd rather KojiPro work on other games too.

I‘d love for someone to do a Remake of either MG or MGS with just the baseline story and without the crazyness that took over the series after 3.

Story side the it was over with 4. You feel Kojima didn't want to alter it or water it down beyond that and just want's a complete end for the Snakes saga with that cemetery scene. Many games were prequals to keep the future acres from expanding. And 5 directly leads to the original Solid Snake games.

After the great Death Stranding I don't miss MGS as much. I want Kojima to do more original things.

It would be nice to have some remakes/remasters, but without Kojima it wouldn't be worth additions to the franchise.

MGS1-3 are excellent games narratively, but the gameplay hasn't aged well. The opposite is true for MGS4-5 and Peace Walker. Just remake the first three games with modern gameplay and controls and call it a day.

I beg of you to stop. Put these foolish ambitions to rest. You do NOT know what you're asking for. Summoning spirits this recklessly can bring forth unknown consequences. Allah forgive me for the contents of this spoiler...

I BEG EVERYONE NOT TO OPEN THIS

Kojima didn't want to make more MGS and Konami didn't want to make more AAA games. Konami found AAA were too risky for them and that to focus on mobile and smaller console projects is way safer and more profitable for them.

I miss it, i miss the build up to the games coming out, the crazy trailers.

Same here, 1 of my best game series there is, im yet to play 5 though, I was away with the army when it come out and by the time I got it it had become clear it may be the last MGS we get and even if there is more the Kojima era is over. I need to make myself play it but its thay feeling its over once im done with it.

why would Kojima want MGS back when he spent decades trying to stop being so involved in it and never succeding? Every fucking MGS after the first one was the last one.
The dude is old, let him spend his golden years making the other games he wants to.

If PT and Death Strading are anything to go by, i welcome whatever he and the Kojipro team want to do next.

This is foolishness, MGS3 still runs laps around any modern game that incorporates stealth.
Devs still can't wrap their heads around multipourpose mechanics and consistent enemy responses on a stealth game.

Forcing sequels always makes a series end up feeling forced and usually get's tainted imo. MGS4 had a perfect bow at the end of the saga, and let's leave it at that. Let Kojima's imagination go into a new saga now.

From the ground up remakes should be produced though for the youngins to experience the classics.

Don't let MGS be treated like Sonic, which has been abused for 30 years. It should be treated with the reverence as mainline Zelda and Mario games.

The basic shooting controls are awful.
You’re asked to do more than run around aimlessly. You have to move around objects, craw underneath objects, sit your back against walls, duck behind boxes, hide inside boxes, and etc. I would say it’s more about precise button commands than being a fully automated experience. In my opinion a lot of gamers would rather have the weapons and set of abilities be selected automatically. The idea of having a single button press do multiple things.

Over time, people feel less obligated to utilize certain control layouts, so you have much more criticism about a game’s mechanics. Metal Gear Solid is definitely one of these series. It does stealth incredibly well if you utilize the functionality of the controller. Metal Gear Solid IV & especially V modernized the gameplay by allowing you to run and gun/CQC, maneuver like water across the terrain, and shoot anything around the environment at will. The production quality of MGS1-3 is very impressive, even to this day. The stealth genre incorporating military based fiction isn’t a dime a dozen. There are imitators, but nothing has really matched the MGS IP.

Kojimas dumb shit ruined so much of MGS 4 like that juvenile farting guy killing good moments for some childish meme.

True but when I played MGS3 HD, it took me perhaps 5 minutes to be immersed again. Its not like its AI and everything isn't tailored to its mechanics. Like most classics, REmake HD etc as well, i'll take the ancient mechanics for granted and the game is still good. I had no problems completing a no kill/death/alert run again.

In my opinion MGS 4 and 5 fucked up the series so much that I don't know what you could possibly do with it other than remakes.

I think the absolute best thing for the franchise is a multiplatform (To ensure old fans that may of left the PS platform get's a chance to play/support) reboot of MGS1. Day one for me.

Just port the games over to modern consoles and leave them the hell alone. Allow the series to die with it still being the amazing series it is. Don't tarnish the legacy of the franchise.

The story is done. Not every franchise needs to continue indefinitely. It's good for things to come to a close. It really is.
As a huge fan of the series, I agree with this. But at the same time, sometimes I wish we could get a game with The Boss as the main character. See the work she and The Cobras put in. But as you said before, somethings do just need to end. The series had a major run so if it is truly the end, I'm very content.
