If you could restore one competitive multiplayer shooter to its peak player count for modern consoles and PC, what game would you pick and why?

In this hypothetical, the game would be a remastered version for modern consoles and PC, and would see a renewed interest similar to the most popularity it ever had at a given time. The game would be a remaster, not a remake. Higher frame rate and better resolution of the original art. No bugs, server issues, or cheaters.

So if you could go back and experience a multiplayer shooter again, what game would you pick and why?

BF3 and BF4 were so good.

Hammered 4 on my PS4 at launch. Was just fantastic. One of the best FPS games of the last gen and it launched day 1!

BF4 is probably my most played MP game ever! And it's around 400 hours or so. I rarely stepped down from the top 3 with my beloved MG4.

I was so good with it that I used to compete with far snipers, with the farthest headshot of around 676 meters away!

Id like to see if a full blown RE outbreak remaster would do well in today's online world.

Edit: you said competitive MP shooter. My bad.

I'd like a REAL L4D3. If that counts?
