Big L on MS for not showing Craig during the new Solo gameplay reveal, specially that now he looks much better.

"Craig" (or maybe as a Brute name "K-reg") should have been a boss battle in a cave, and he's guarding a golden rocket launcher.

I am really excited to discover Craig in game now. You know he's going to be like owner of a weapons emporium or something hilarious.

On topic though, I'm loving everything they are showing about the game the last week or so. Infinite can't come fast enough

Man certain sections on here are dropping like flys since the new console war rules came into play. They really cant help themselves, and i love it. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
It's amazing. A lot of the ones who have trouble have also just taken to not posting often anymore. They obviously knew what they were doing

I hope we don't get anything more now other than maybe a launch trailer and some live action trailers, job done in my eyes. Hype at maximum levels.

My only concern right now is it always online? As I'll have no playable internet on the 8th and would like to blast though the campaign.

Because the character team is showing off their characters in as neutral a way as they could.
If its in game there will be an animation playing twisting the character or weird lighting due to the games dynamic nature.
In engine they can control that to show off the characters.

Will they look exactly the same in game...absolutely not, the game is dynamic....but thats not the point of the blog post which im guessing you didnt read at all.

This is how Uncharted 4 hair was presented in-engine:

The hair literally never looks that good in game......but again thats not the point, if you are trying to present the hair youll capture the hair at 4K even if the game wont even actually be at 4K nor will the lighting ever be like that in game except for curated cutscenes.
Stunning! And Elena should get her own game 👌

Ok, I think it's time to start sounding some serious alarm bells about the single player campaign. If it's really coming out in six weeks, and this is the first we've seen of it since that disastrous demo reveal?
???? how is this alarming. They showed off plenty of gameplay and will likely show even more at the 20th anniversary event. Probably even a more detailed story trailer rather than just cutscene snippets. There's been like as many cutscene trailers and gameplay shown as TLOU2 had before its release lol

Exactly I have some gripes with 343 but this isn't one. They rightfully so went quiet again till they got the game up to snuff before showing it again. Media will ramp up over the next month no doubt. This is just the beginning.

They just seem to have chosen to unveil it after the game went gold rather than waste time making a separate demo build or polishing for PR assets beforehand. They're probably not going to reveal much on the story front going forward, but we should be seeing the marketing ramp up since they said they'll show more of the campaign from here on out on Waypoint.

But it hasn't. We saw a gameplay demo before the game was supposedly overhauled and some select cinematics and a lot of multiplayer. We have no idea what the actual campaign looks like in its present state when the game is a little over a month from release.

Almost as if "Craig" wasn't a screenshot taken from a youtube video on a cautiously selected quick and awkward moment, being misleading itself. Bad screenshots like this can be taken from any game, as we have already seen over and over with countless different visually stunning games.

That being said, obviously Xbox twitter account will not do the service of selecting a new bad screenshot just for this "fair" comparison.
Improved shot isnt in-game. They could have easily just chosen a in-game screen shot. Not one with god lighting.
Thanks for proving that it's exactly the same model, down to the last pixel. Why the one of the right looks so much better? Well, if you ever took at least one picture in your life you'll understand.

The lighting is part of the graphical presentation though.

Digital Foundry did a good breakdown of why lighting is the main reason Halo looked so bad. Particularly because much of it was in shadow and in the old school model they were using, stuff in shadow is all kind of lit the same other than some SSAO.

It's one of those situations where RT really makes a huge difference. We can fake lighting well enough in direct light, but without RT indirect light is really hard to fake in real time.

Personally, I hope it stays that way. The campaign overview gives a good idea and 1 story trailer is enough for me.

I dont know if you're acting dumb or trying to stealth troll, but this new footage IS from the campaign.

It looks much better but... still not looking next gen to me.

Know what it DOES look like? Next gen Halo, but bigger, more ambitious, more fun, many more tactical options. I know what people mean when they say next-gen, but how many of these so called next-gen games actually play like it?

Halo Infinite for any Halo fan looks very familiar, but you don't see a lot of big budget, big name franchises that prioritize the gameplay experience over the graphical experience to the degree that Halo games have always tried to do, and in which Halo Infinite seems to be succeeding more than all the others.

Ya know, I really wish they'd end this Craig bullshit and concentrate on other stuff. It's been carrying on for over a year now hopefully they move on.

Overall, Campaign has a stronger narrative need, so a lot of the information in the HUD is used to help elevate the story, while still providing the player with the information they need to understand the current state of the game. There are moments where we know we can do unique things with the HUD because the player will be in a non-confrontational part of the game.

This is the kind of stuff I want to hear. Every bit adds to the immersion of the game.
