Bloodborne has one of the best artstyles I've ever seen in a game. I hope they can compliment that without taking anything away. It's going to be a difficult task, esp considering it still looks great, but they are very talented visual designers so we shall see.

Bluepoint have proven their technical capabilities, not creative - handing them something as big as a Bloodborne 2 on a silver platter could be a real disaster.

It would have to be a remaster/remake. You can't just get remake studio to create a new Bloodborne, unless Miyzaki was somehow involved.

Yeah that was my thought, maybe they collab with From for creative vision and they perform the build. But most likely a remake to re-tool it for PS5/PC initially, then maybe something more collaborative after that.

Maybe with all the money that Sony are spending their office is just being relocated somewhere cheaper? Admittedly the new location is pretty damp but at least there's a lovely view of the moon.

Since Moriarty is not a clown, however, in the chance that this is true I hope they do a quick remaster rather than a full Demon's Souls-style remake. Bloodborne is not that old, if they up the resolution, make it run smoothly at 60fps, maybe upscale some textures somehow and improve the lighting and sfx departments a bit, it will be more than enough. If they start rebuilding map and character assets form scratch, 1) it will take them forever and 2) there are zero chances people won't complain because they messed too much with the style and atmosphere.

Ugh why are people obsessed with this game? Do something cooler with all your talent. I liked it and finished the main game and all chalice dungeons. By the time the DLC old gods or old world or whatever came I was so burnt from it I didn't even start it. Besides I was probably too overleveled anyway. I doubt anything from the DLC would touch that amped up Dog from the chalice dungeous.

There is much more than this: 60fps is the most important but also instant loadings, activity cards, 3D audio, dualsense features and chromatic abberration / motion blur toggles.
That ideal game on PS5 would be a dream to play.

You’d like to think that Bluepoint’s experience with rebuilding DeS from scratch would mean that this would be something a bit more than just a 60fps, 4k up res job. A full remake would be too much, but I’d like to see something more between the two. Make the double dip properly worth it.

I'm curious now I know Sony own the IP but the engine is From Software so Sony would have to lease the rights to use the From engine? If FS said hell no what does Sony do? Me personally BB don't need remastered it's still visually a stunning game it could use a 60fps patch but a whole remaster is a waste imho and nobody wants a BB2 without Miyazaki involvement period
What would be the point of Bloodborne being remade? It just needs to be polished, uprezzed and given a stable framerate. If they are working on a sequel... I would really rather them work on a new IP called NOT-Bloodborne so the legacy can stay intact but then Sony probably thinks it will sell better with a well known name attached to it. I don't really follow the thinking behind this development. We heard of the new prototype FROM was making for Sony before Elden Ring was even revealed so I don't think there is any real involvement from FROM here. What a weird development.
I also wouldn't mind if they left out the chalice dungeons or at least put these powerful gems in the main game, so you don't have to grind so much.

Bloodborne remake would be cool, I think quality even affects visuals in that I can barely see the monsters clearly (not sure how to call this effect). As for B2, dunno... for the sake of their own sanity it seems like it would be easier to make your own soulslike (if that's what they feel like doing), or something more linear with Demon's Souls type graphics, with new IP, without unreasonable expectations and unfair angry comparisons. More freedom, less expectations, etc.

The Old Hunters is one of the best DLCs ever made, and Ludwig, the whale sharks, and The Orphan of Kos says you weren't overleveled.

Bluepoint isn't a big studio so if they are making 2 projects it makes sense to have 1 being a port and 1 being a smaller game.

Idk if From Software owns the engine, I was under the impression it was developed during the Bloodborne production so its possible Sony co-developed it.
