EDIT: I have already sent the console in to Sony for repair. They sent it back without doing any repairs saying they found nothing wrong with it.
To be clear here I'm just wondering if anybody else has had or is having this issue, or has an idea of what's happening. I've already described the issue and sent my console in for repair. Sony found nothing wrong with it and sent it back without any repair. I already tried all the normal things like reinstalling the OS and factory resetting and such. Same issues remain.
So what happens is my launch PS5 will crash after anywhere from a minute to 45 minutes or so but only for some games. Examples of games I know I cannot play are Resident Evil 8 (PS5 version only, the PS4 version will work on the PS5), Arcadegeddon, and Ratchet & Clank. These are just the games I own I know won't work. I'm sure there's countless more. Games I know I can play without issue are Fortnite and Genshin Impact (PS5 versions).
What happens with the games I can't play is I'll load one of these games and usually within 10 minutes the game will crash with error code CE-108255-1. This is a generic error code and happens fairly regularly with all games. The issue is it will happen with the games I mentioned 100% of the time making them unplayable.
The other issue I have is that my console will sometimes overheat at the point where the power cord plugs in to the point it will burn you if you hold your finger on it. It gets extremely hot. There doesn't seem to be a direct connection with the overheating and the error code crashing. Sometimes the power cord receptacle area will be a perfectly normal temperature when the crashing happens. It may of course be indirectly related but I have no idea. Also there is no overheating message whatsoever when the power cord area does overheat. Sometimes the console will suddenly power off though with absolutely no warning at all. It simply powers off the same as if you were to pull the plug out from the back of it.
So, any ideas?? Anyone else having these crazy issues?
TL;DR PS5 will not play certain games and will crash with an error code within minutes when I try. Console will also seemingly randomly get extremely hot at the point where the power cord plugs in to the point it will burn you if touched. These 2 issues don't seem directly related.
