What game are you currently playing?

I got a new PC recently and have been playing Cyberpunk 2077, and enjoying it.

On my PS5 I’m trying to get through some more of Returnal, which I stopped playing when RE8 came out.

Two on the go currently.

Playing Mass Effect 2 in small bursts to get the 50 reward points for an Xbox achievement each day but mainly concentrating on Assassin's Creed II (Ezio Collection) on PS4.

Finally caved and bought AC Valhalla on the PS5. Seeing how huge this thing is it‘s prolly gonna take me 2-3 months to finish. So far I quite like it. Miles better than Odyssey in terms of world design. Sadly not as good as Origins though in that regards. Looks stunning when played at night on OLED.

Playing for the third time. Beat it when it first released on Xbox One, then again on Switch, now playing on Series X. It's still good, but pales in comparison to the sequel.

Picked up TLOU2 in the days of play sale. Less than £20 with cheap PSN credit which didn't seem bad.

Not massively far in based on completion times so my opinion may change.

First up playing on PS5 with the 60fps patch.

The characters look insane especially in cut scenes and the animation is probably the best I've seen in a game - the animations blend together really well and don't feel canned like RDR2. The environments though can be very artificial feeling with small barriers everywhere and many are composed of mostly square shaped geometry - I'm really surprised how blocky so much of the world looks. Some of the textures are awful and some are very good. I appreciate it had to work on a base PS4 and the characters are very high quality even exceeding next gen stuff so will be taking a lot of the graphics budget. It's cool that the snow at the start is all interactive but it's very low quality and looks a bit crap IMO.

The GI from the torch is really impressive. Not sure if it's real or faked but it looks amazing.

I guess it's a bit like GoT where the overall package is really impressive but if you stop to examine stuff you'll find flaws very quickly.

The world has been a very linear tube with some slightly open bits so far but maybe that will change. It feels like being in a ride at at theme park where if you could just move the camera out a bit more you'd see how fake everything is. I'm not saying linear is a problem as some of my favourite games are linear just that this one doesn't seem to hide it very well.

I'm past the bit in the story that everyone hated and have to say I had no problem with it. None of the supposed PC stuff has made me bat an eyelid so the anger about it looks stupid IMO. Abby punching zombies in the face feels great so I'm happy she was able to hit the gym.

The story seems like it will try to be emotionally manipulative like a Disney film but somehow done with even less nuance so maybe that annoyed some people.

I'm finding the controls a bit sluggish even after turning off all the acceleration but I love how the cover works as it feels really organic rather than 'press square and we'll glue you to this bit of cover'. The combat is really good and I don't get the complaints about it feeling outdated as it seems to flow so well - something like Outriders feels super dated in comparison.

Been playing some career mode and multi-player in Wreckfest. Not usually into racing, in fact I find the genre to be very boring, but I couldn't withstand to take a peak at what is essentially a spiritual successor to Destruction Derby. I have quite the nostalgia boner for DD, since it was my very first game I bought for my newly purchased Playstation.

And Wreckfest is a very good follow up, and often downright hilarious in the multiple ways you can crash your opponents. I've been having a ridiculously good time during my first couple of hours and I can see myself playing this to and from for a long time.

The DualSense implementation is very good too. You can feel when the car shifts gears, the nitro bursts, the rumble as you car is being to trashed to pieces. The adaptive triggers have different modes for the brakes, one soft and one for much harder. It's very subtle but it does so much for the immersion.

I'm in Amateur league now wrecking havoc, having completed the rookie section. I think I'm at lv 11 so far. It's very fun and I recommend it whole heartedly.

Trails to Azure with the Geofront localization patch. Falcom really knows how to build up a story and the world.

Finished Ori and the Blind Forrest and moved on to another playthrough of Will of the Wisps. The leap in quality is massive.

I don’t think I appreciated the game enough at launch, because it ran like ass on my launch Xbox One. On Series X it looks and runs perfectly.

Taking a break from Returnal to get back to work on my Red Dead Online character. Well, I guess school is officially on summer break? Because the script kiddies are out in full force. Roughly 1/4 of all sessions have a cheater in it using the remote explosive fire cheat to harass people. Sigh. Guess I'll just have to eject everyone from my session :devilish:

Just beat Fire Emblem: Three Houses with Blue Lions (4 months 50ish hours), bout to play again with Golden Deer. Also playing Control Ultimate Edition, DMC5 Special Edition, and Gears 5 Hivebusters on Series X. Have many other games on hold atm but will play eventually..... patiently waiting for Halo Infinite

Little Nightmares (it was free!) Currently don't have a console nor plan on getting one anytime soon and am currently limited to using a borrowed RX 550 until normal priced GPUs come back.

will be downloading Death Stranding soon on PS4 to give that another shot. i'm itching to get back to Cyberpunk but will play Death Stranding and hopefully by the time i finish that we'll have the free Cyberpunk DLC.

Managed to kill Hand of the King in Dead Cells for the first time. Had a super powerful build and slaughtered him. Felt so fucking good. I've been trying to kill him for a long time and now I can finally proceed with post game. What a wonderful day.

End credits are rolling in Dead Cells. I have to say, this is one of the best games I've played. The gameplay and rogue like nature blends together so well, it's such a tight action experience and satisfying to play. Never been a huge fan of the genre but Dead Cells and Returnal made me a true believer. Fantastic games.

Currently playing through Supraland and Banjo Kazooie on Gamepass. Banjo is better than I gave it credit for, but I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would say it's better than Mario 64. Level design is kind of uninspired imo and I'm not a huge fan of the controls.

Last of us.
After several attempts to play through it (Didn't really, *sniggers* "click" for me the first few attempts) I finally finished it and I'm really looking forward to playing the second despite the apparent polarised opinion of it's worth.
Also unearthed the Wii to play No more heroes 1 and 2 before 3 "Touches down" *Ba-dum tishh*

Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade

I'm getting goosebumps by the intro. One of my all time favorite games. It looks so good, breathtaking opening, and infiltrating the Mako Reactor to the classic bombing mission theme just puts s smile on my face. I know I'm in for s good ride.

It took a while but I’ve finally done it.

Now onwards to post-game content.

Done with Act 3. I’ve done everything that’s doable for the original PS4/PC release. Now I just have to complete the Secret Wheel of Harma and the 11th Tickington book.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands
It was released long ago but only the other day I got the opportunity to play it for an hour or so. Surely the game manages to capture the same feelings I have had since first started playing this masterpiece. The leveling experience overhaul, constant sense of progress with rewards, and new campaign stories make Shadowlands a must-have for any avid player, my opinion.

Recently finished Resident Evil Village, 7 and its Extra Content and it got me hungry for more Resident Evil, so I played through and finished Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 4, currently playing Separate Ways Extra campaign in RE4, will be doing Assignment Ada then Resident Evil 2 (2019) next and maybe try 5 and 6 afterwards.

Just wrapped up Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin for the first time. I understand some of the hate it gets. The 3 DLC areas were better than the entirety of the main game.

Now I’m off to play Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

Started playing Marvel's Avengers campaign , oh gosh that Kamala Khan keeps giving me cringe. I haven't found a character this annoying for a long while.

Now I just want to rush through the single player and delete to release 85 GB space on ps5 drive.

FIFA 21 via EA Play.

Not a FIFA guy, at all. Been getting by playing against friends, sometimes losing sometimes winning.

But I've been having a casual match on a BBQ evening against my brother the other week. He beat me 0:2. Kinda rubbed my ego the wrong way. So I figured why not, EA Play is 3,99€ a month, might as well try it out a little more intimately on my own. Been secretly learning the ins and outs of the game whenever I have the chance, really am getting into the franchise and the sport, especially since the EM is currently happening.

There is a whole lot more to it than just Pass, Flank and Shoot. And the game package is surprisingly well rounded for a newcomer with Career modes, Online Seasons, Volta as well as some great tutorial modes teaching you tricks, basic plays and defense/offense playstyles.

So I'm trying my hand at some no-pressure online matches against random players. Of course I'm playing with my less than stellar hometown club, most often against A-list clubs of other players. Out of 8 matches I won 2 so far, which is far better than what I anticipated going in. Still am getting beaten sth like 0:6 by some of the better players tho ofc.

But I'm getting there.. The next time I meet my brother on the field he'll be in for a surprise, I'm sure. The dumb look on his face kinda makes it all worth it.

Chapter 8 in FF 7 Intergrade. The boss battle against the Air buster was fucking epic. The remixed boss music was so good and turned the fight up to 11. The game is really good so far. Terrific interpretation of Midgar and the battle system is incredible. Perfect blend of real time and ATB. Square Enix has expanded on this game in the best possible way so far. Love it.
