I dont think its my tv. I just think the place where I am at the moment is the least attractive part of the game. Your screenshots are mostly from Ellie's campaign, but like I mentioned in my post, I am right where Abby meets Yara and Lev and while the forest section looked stunning, pretty much everything after that is just drab and ugly. the boat lighting was very dull. the shipyard at night didnt look impressive. even the morning scene in the shipyard didnt look good. im now at the part where you climb the building and there is just this very lame looking fog surrounding that area that just doesnt look good.
contrast it with the fog in this scene for instance.
It's thick and the volumetric lighting is far more impressive.
I also think the interiors look way better in RE8.
It's probably not fair to compare the two since TLOU2 is like 3x longer clocking in at around 30 hours with way more areas than RE8 but every room in re8 has stunning lighting. it almost feels handcrafted in a way ND games used to feel.
The only time RE8 looks bad or underwhelming is during the dusk setting when the lighting feels baked and dull and starts to show cracks in the game's environment detail. But thankfully you dont spend too much time during that setting.
Here are a few screenshots I just took a few minutes ago. Unlike your screenshots, these dont look particularly good. I dont think its because of the engine or because ND isnt talented, i just think these Abby chapters just dont look as good. I am looking forward to the village raid in 60 fps because that is easily the best looking chapter in the game after the first few chapters with Ellie.
