Outriders is Coming to Xbox Game Pass on Day One

you people need to educate yourself what AAA even means.

p.s. the game is not AAA, nor Days Gone was, even if it felt like one.

anyways. it is still a good deal however you look at it. it adds to the value, not taking it from it.(y)
Of course it adds to the value. By the demo is a good game. The discussion here is if it is suistanable AAA first party games only in GP. Making a 3rd party game on it while Sonys customers pay for it is trying to make it profitable from the other stores (Sony and also PC in this case). Thats tricky and Sony should react or of course everybody will buy an Xbox for GP.

Shame about PC, but hey, I'll still check it out on Cloud! I mean, why not?

Also for the trolls...

"Established in 2002, People Can Fly is one of the best AAA game development studios in Poland and one of the top UNREAL ENGINE studios in Europe.

We are the visual and technical creators of the most insane shooters on the planet – Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment and now Outriders.

In partnership with Take-Two Interactive we are also working on the recently announced new original AAA title led by PCF’s NY studio.

People Can Fly’s third game in the making is our new exciting project with SQUARE ENIX which details are yet to be revealed."

Y'all can be against something or hate something all you want, I mean to each their own. But don't be ridiculous, facts are facts. 🤷‍♂️

Can a mod explain how all of a sudden people who weren't expressing "concerns" over the games quality or budget in the impressions thread, are now in here with that rather than on topic?

@DGrayson @Bill O'Rights

All but one of these trolls actually posted in the demo thread
I was calling it shitty before it was cool :messenger_bicep:

This is a good game to have on GamePass (as it would be if it was on PS+), it's ideal for them.
It can only do good things for it, I felt the game had a lack of interest in it before, now lots are talking about it.

Well shit, the first month of GP on pc is 1 euros, great news.

Wait, it's only for xbox and not gamepass on pc?!

Tons of games are missing on the PC GamePass and you also have to deal with the shitty launcher.

The service is much worse on PC (but still good).

Game will probably be dead with or without gamepass. I did not see anything attractive in that demo I played.
To be frank, I wasn't really blown away by my experience with the demo either, but people are still excited about it and it's still doing really well. It was top 3-5 on the Steam charts for several weeks. It's still in the top ten there as well (#7).

I'm sure it's doing just as fine if not better on PSN and XBL as well. It's a pretty dry period right now, so it may do some favors for the game.

I think that's kind of the plan - smart move on the part of Xbox/Game Pass.

Ah....sucks it isn't on Game Pass for PC. I still gotta try the demo though.

Who got @'d? Mad? Nahhh just pointing out the bullshit.

There's like 6 or 7 trolls here who didn't post in the impressions thread.

They didn't post in the impression thread, but they are posting here. That's worthy of a mod's attention? Really?

Yeah it's certainly benefiting from this dry period.. but man. I think even with or without gamepass it's gonna end up fading out fast. It's a game that felt like 5 years too late to me.

I had no interest in this. But it going on there may get me to try it. Looked to bland to even download the demo for me.

Yup! I agree!

I don't touch consoles too often, and it's been awhile since I've touched an Xbox. But I always felt it was apparent that Microsoft was leaning really hard into the whole Game Pass approach, and it was pretty smart. I mean, they launched two different consoles. Did it feel like a bit much? Sure! The naming convention also could've certainly been better too. But I still thought it was brilliant that they were providing options for consumers.

Also, leaning into an approach that provided a library of titles for a small cost was/is brilliant IMO. Especially when that same service contains brand new titles. ESPECIALLY for those that don't have the money to shell out a frequent $60-70 per title. But can afford a monthly Game Pass membership + internet cost.

I would've killed to have had something like that as a kid when I didn't have a job, haha.

Honestly it's all up to how they support it, you know? Right now that's all up in the air, considering PCF hasn't done a game like this before and It's a huge for them.

Gods&Monsters in this thread...... what's the point of GP when you can buy deals on Steam? And if you read the thread, even if someone already had GP, no point even playing the vanilla copy as part of a gamer's sub plan because it's better to pay more $$$ and buy a bargain bin copy.

I just meant why would you waste your time playing a game from last decade on a subscription service when you can own it for 3$ and play something more recent and save money? To me that's just logical.

I'm not going to jerk off like all of you because Morrowind is there, I'll play Outriders instead. Now that's value. I'm sorry you see everything as an attack on GP and I hurt your feelings. God bless.

I understand the concept of operating at a loss in the short term for long term gains and I'm sure that is part of the strategy, but I still doubt we would have so many big publishers on board just for a short payday if they didn't believe in the service in the long term.

I suspect we are going to see EA and Ubisoft make much bigger commitments to Gamepass in the near future. Not sure what that will look like yet, just seems like the entire industry is behind Gamepass at this point and that doesn't happen just because Microsoft writes a big paycheck.
I'm inclined to agree but also I look at it from the aspect of "How many people took a Stadia check?" Just considering the angles

I recall the narrative toward Gamepass by more than a few early on was it was just going to be filled with shovel-ware level content. Dare I say those opinions have not aged well.
The amusing part is that people STILL said that after numerous devs and publishers mentioned they were looking into day 1 Game Pass launches. Microsoft said the same. I guess people just assumed they were potentially lying, or they were just salty, lol.

I haven't touched an Xbox in years, and I don't think that will change. Especially since I have a PC and they're bridging that gap more and more now. But I've always thought GP was a great idea. Is it for everyone? Of course not! But I think it's a fantastic option! So it most certainly has my support.

i think they saw the writing on the wall with this one. That demo probably hurt more than it helps. Because i luv these type of games...and theres no chance i was going to buy it after the demo. Before the demo they mighta suckered me. But it being on gamepass i might give it another go

A not so great division/anthem/bullet sponge grind.

It‘ll have a HUGE playerbase though because of Gamepass, this is brilliant, shows the power of Gamepass and gives consumers a new game day one from a 3rd party.

Basically how I feel about it. But there are definitely people excited about it. It's wild, but hey, alright, haha.

YUP! Especially since it's launching with crossplay. I can't help but assume it's going to implode with all kinds of server issues on launch. It happened with the demo, it's surely going to happen on launch.

That's some kind of logic. I subscribe to the idea that if you don't want to play it (you'd rather play something more recent), don't buy it at all (even for $3). And, if you do want to play it and it comes to a service that you are already subscribed to, play it there (again even the $3 would be a waste).

Loved the demo max leveled 2 of the 4 characters I had the game pre ordered, but will cancel that. The game is right up my alley a dumb fun looter shooter. It doesn't look as good as Godfall but it is miles better. The shooting is not as good as destiny but, to me I have had more fun in the demo than all my time in destiny. I was one of the dumb people who loved Anthem and stuck with it for longer than I should have. This demo was better than everything in anthem except the flying which isn't in here. Now my wife can get it for her xbox and we can play co op the whole game. Great get for game pass

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure you and lot of people were saying the game is shit in that comparison thread.
I wonder what changed lol

Definitely wrong. But I said in this thread I had no interest in this, as it looks bland. Due to gamepass, I may try it though.

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
I enjoyed the demo but then I played Destiny 2 again and it just blows this poor game out of the water. Its nice that its on gamepass cause really gonna need that boost. I might pick it up for a deep discount on PC at some point.
