These Youtubers are just embarrassing. Ghost of Tsushima success doesn't mean Last of Us 2 was not successful or was not a good game. Infact I love Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima. Some of us play videogames it seems while for some it's completely different thing. It's so petty to make such obnoxious videos

I think TLoU2 definitely overstays its welcome, it would have benefited from tighter editing. The technical prowess on display is undeniable though - ND set a new bar for animations that may very well be unsurpassed until the next ND game. Personally had more fun with GoT too - one of the few games I've intentionally platinumed. Instead of "yay, a bandit camp..." as with Ubisoft titles, it was "yay, a bandit camp!" for me.

But... I still like both. And both were both commercially and critically successful. This crusade against TLoU2 is definitely just embarrassing at this point.

It was pretty obvious The Last of Us Part II didn’t sell anywhere near as well as Sony would have expected and hoped. The drops week on week were huge, no doubt partly due to a fair bit of horrible word of mouth (and rightfully so in my eyes, it’s a heavily story based game with a pathetic story and unlikeable characters).

This. I didn’t like TLOU2 but I’m so fucking tired of talking about it, I really hope the gaming zeitgeist can move on towards other discussions. It’s clear it was a somewhat divisive game (in terms of the vocal minority of forum goers) that sold very well and was by all valid measures an extremely successful endeavor overall. Really it’s a non issue and miraculously boring to talk about at this point.

A new IP of a very Japanese looking Samurai game that normally wouldn't appeal to a massive Western audience is competing with the sequel to one of the best games ever made.

The Last Jedi still made a billion dollars, and that's a lot, but it was half of what the previous movie made. Dreck-Man really tried his hardest to fuck this up.

The Last of Us sold 7 million in a year.

The Last of Us Part II very likely ahead of that number already in less than a year. The Last of Us was also bundled with the PS3 and PS4. Considering TLOU 2 is the third highest Sony published game in US history, it has surpassed The original game in revenue.

Barely? Tell us more about that insigh.
Because in no place it says barely in fact being a revenue chart the difference is probably way bigger than you think because since November Ghost is $40 while TLOU2 is $30.

People wanted to hate TLOU2 and so they had to find something to put ahead it.
So with that mind they choose the second most voted game in the Public VGA pool to massive counter TLOU2.
Ghost of Tsushima was the second place so it ended winning the pool with the massive 4chan campaign and these same people started to compare both.

Go take your face for a shit man, in no way was TLOU2 a disappointment. It has everything you want in a game, including not 1 but 2 strong female protagonists, an LGBT and multiracial family dynamic and a trans man.
