Cyberpunk free DLC coming early 2021

i told you i get paid every time i prove you are wrong.

So you must be as poor as Cyberpunk NPCs AI then. I hope CDPR can hire a better attorney than you, otherwise the legal action will be very costly to them.

"You come, you shoot 5 guys standing still waiting for you, next mission" congratulations you described every open world game in history.

AC. you come you kill every person standing still waiting for you. next mission rinse and repeat.
Far Cry. you come you shoot everyone standing still waiting for you. next mission rinse and repeat.
HZD. you come you kill every robot standing still waiting for you. next mission rinse and repeat.
GOT. you come you kill every mongolian waiting for you. next mission rinse and repeat.
Skyrim. you come you kill everyone waiting for you. next mission rinse and repeat.
see how easy it is?

you can't talk to every npc in a bethesda game. but there are so few npcs in general that it may seem that way. a lot of random npcs just give you one liners when you press talk the same way they do in cyberpunk. and if it was so good the meme wouldn't be "bethesda npc dialogue" it would be how great bethesda dialogue is. lol.

Hell no my friend. Even a Ubi fort mission is 10 times more complex than shooting 5 guys standing still in a map. You get walls, rooms, stealth, hiding in shadows... NPCs reacting to you. Guards who don't teleport 2m behind you. All those things those Cyberpunk missions don't have.

Every dialogue with NPCs is better than what we get with the braindead Cyberpunk zombie NPC. they don't even look at you lol. They have one liners and don't react when you're 10 cm from them. Cyberpunk open world is inferior to open worlds from 15 years ago. Try again.

It's not about making it GTA, just making the world a little believable when you play.

Everybody talks about police AI but what about normal enemies AI? I dont give a flying fuck about cops but after around 40h I have to say that even regular enemies AI is brain dead. Most fights are simple as fuck because enemies can't navigate level at all.

Stealth and Hacking builds completely breaks the game because enemies can't react at all to them.

Tech weapons (especially snipers) are breaking the game because enemies don't know how to react if you shoot through the walls.

Enemies don't flank, don't use any kind of tactics. They just wiggle around waiting to be killed.

At first being so OP was fun but after a few hours it's just boring. Almost every build is OP but some just breaks enemies AI.

Ubisoft open world games are notorious for this type of repetition. They are the games you play when you just want to turn off and not think. Fun as long as one can handle the limitations.

yes they surely are going to fix that. it's probably bugs and a couple of things they need to figure out. in what difficulty are you playing? in very hard enemies definitely flank you from every side. and throw grenades and other things at you. when it works it really feels better than other first person rpgs but when it doesn't it's crap. i've had a couple of encounters where enemies stood still or tripped and never got up. or got lost. or came one by one from the same side just to get destroyed by my shotgun. but not a lot to be honest. and they do hit hard so it's not like i could do whatever i wanted.
i was pleasantly surprised with the difficulty and the combat ai. or the combat in general for that matter. i was expecting something worse after the witcher 3

No man, it's a feature those braindead NPCs. Different design philosophies I tell you. /s

Yes, seriously, that sucks, it made the game far too easy. And I say that as someone who liked the quests. But the rest needs lots of improvements, especially the AI, except if you have very low standards.

Did you by chance notice you're alone thinking that here and 2 other posters just said the same as I do in this thread ?

Maybe there's a reason to that. And that's without talking about the other threads here making fun of the game. Just saying...

Here, have fun with the ground breaking open world of Cyberpunk :

they never said ubisoft missions are 10 times more complex than cyberpunk missions.
one thing is thinking the ai is bad ot that the open world is dead. but that... lol.
what's next? fallout has better shooting?

They say Cyberpunk open world sucks, which is what most people around the world outside of you concluded.

And yes, every mission is more complex than "there are 5 guys standing still on the map waiting for you to shoot them with zero context". Any quest is better than that. Of course a Ubi fort is still better than that, without being a cutting edge mission design.

Especially when they don't even know how to fight properly. In Cyberpunk they don't even have a fort lol, they're standing still waiting for you to kill them.

Maybe I'm hoping for too much, but I want a plastic surgery (and a barber) npc, to change our V's physical appearance. Also minigames, there was some sick pool in one of the trailers, let me play that!
This is 100% my stance. Do this, fix most of the bugs and the game becomes an easy 9/10 for me

The DLC for Witcher 3 weren't too good, were they? Free, I mean.
Nah, buncha cosmetics and shiet.

Hope they do better with this one. My guess? It'll probably be things that got cut during development, and they'll introduce it as DLC as a sneaky way to complete the game.

the guards are part of the core gameplay. you need to compare them to gang members or actually enemies you fight. not a cop system that exists only so you can't kill the entire city. try the random people walking on the street. you kill more than 2 and BAM desync'd. game over. nice law system... an even less interactive system than cyberpunk but with the same goal. you are meant to do the quests instead of murdering civilians like a psycho. the difference is AC actually ends the game for you.

To be fair in AC they do justify it in story with it not being what your ancestor actually did. Meanwhile the reverse is true for the cops in cyberpunk XD storywise they shouldn't give a fuck.

the open world npcs don't really "need" any work. nobody cares about them except the people playing the game as gta. nobody complained about how braindead the npcs are in HZD. Ghost of Tsushima. Spiderman. The Witcher 3. Assassins Creed. Mass Effect or Dragon age. they are probably gonna make them better via updates though. but not because they think it's important but because of people like you that cry online about features that are not really relevant in a narrative driven open world action adventure rpg. so you should be happy.

That's not true at all. Everywhere you go in Ghosts Of Tsushima all the NPCs are "omg it's the Ghost" and they react to you. Same for Spider-Man, they call for you, ask for autographs and pictures etc. Both PS4 games and the world is so much more alive.

and apart from that can you really talk to them? have meaningful conversations? murder them? where are these great interactions that make the world feel much more alive? you can't do anything. but it's fine because nobody cares about it.

look at the police in spiderman. they don't react at all.

maybe cdpr just needs to call 3 voice actors and record a couple of "omg its V!" lines.

Alas no I don't exaggerate, I wish I was, I made tons of psychos / gangs / help the police missions and it was always the same.

"Kill x persons standing still on the map" (without context)

That's why people (outside of you apparently for some reason) are so disappointed with the open world... on any platform. Maybe the standards are lower on PC though, since good AAA games are so rare on this platform these days.

maybe cdpr just needs to call 3 voice actors and record a couple of "omg its V!" lines.

Yes, anything would be a start, it's so shit right now. Anything that would make it less dead and sterile.

It's nice that you're finally ok with them trying to improve the game. Cyberpunk desperately needs it.

I’m hoping for some improvements:

- Toggle items so that you can sell all items you aren’t keeping.
- Add filtered sections to V’s storage.
- Add tattoo shops/barber so that players can custom their avatar after the intro.
- Add colour wheel to character creation and edit.
- Weapon rotation should remember if you wanted Fists or Special Weapon rather than defaulting to special weapon as default.
- Prevent npc’s from going into alert mode if pinged or scouted before reload.
- Add skin select for cars and weapons. A lot of time went into designing different skins for guns and cars, none of which is selectable for the player.
- Re-open the shooting range. It makes no sense to shut the player out of an area that is accessible and functional.
- Scrapping perk no longer scraps valuable junk.
- Toggle the Samurai band gear npc outside the Ramen shop back on. Why he would deactivate after the mission makes no sense.
- Toggle the punching bot outside V’s place so it can be sparred with outside of the first time so that you can practice fighting without dying or losing lots of money.
- Toggle the stripper back on in the Mox club. Why it’s on for a mission but inaccessible after that makes no sense. Also.. add dancers to strip clubs. Doesn’t even matter if it’s a fully clothed dancing Asari it’s just weird to see empty stages.
- Allow dance function already in the game wherever you put raving NPCs.
- Color shards that have already been acquired as White or another colour identifier.
- Unread shards are automatically visible in the shard inventory. Read shards should be collapsed under ‘click for more’.
- Open V’s weapon wall so it is based on user input and not a specific set of weapons obtained in ways that will keep the wall empty 95% of the time.
- Allow V to sleep at their other storage sites like the Aldecados camp.
- Clothing upgrades should cost more and re-roll a current level version rather than small incremental stat increases. Re-rolls can also become Rare, Epic or Legendary.
- Add flashlight as a weapon scope option.
- If Cop pursuit AI can’t work due to the complex pathing required, add a bounty system instead where V needs to pay off the Stars earned.

All NCPD, Max Tech, Miltech, and those medic NPCs are hostile on sight until the bounty is paid up.

Wanted Stars increase the firepower, number of spawns across the map, and number of NPCs/mechs per spawn.

- Some future gigs should consider ones that open based on player attribute progression. In this way a high intelligence player opens some class specific quests inaccessible to someone who maxes other stats. This could have helped keep boxing missions away from people who don’t create melee builds.

Should be able to read a cracked shard immediately as well. Really hate the current system of cracking one, going back into the game, then going into the shard screen and then scroll to find it.

Nice list. This kind of posts brings a lot more to the table that saying "everything is fine, let's not change anything, the dead open world is a design decision".

At least we need some kind of consequence for committing crimes in the open world. Cops should never teleport to you in 2020 either. It's lazy design. They can make cops take their car and chase you. It's not that hard, Rockstar and Ubi did it ten years ago or more.

And Gigs should be made more difficult and more diverse. It's really boring after 3 or 4.

Not sure if i saw it yet as well, but when I'm in my backpack looking at my guns: I don't want to the game to be comparing any weapon I'm looking at to the weapon in my first item slot. I don't care. It's on screen vomit for me. Have a different screen for comparison's to items in the backpack vs equipped.

Those who are waiting for the NG upgrade to drop before playing the game on console are going to have a pretty meaty, hopefully greatly patched up, game to look forward to if the extra content is like Witcher 3's.

I assume there will be quite a bit of extra goodies and patches before the NG versions go live.

Yeah, I've waited this long.

I'm just gonna wait for the ps4l5 version personally.

Lol who are these people who go around open world games trying to talk to random NPCs? And why did you expect this game to have multiple lines of dialog for random NPCs when that is not a thing in any other games? Lol idgi

Looking forward to the DLC
I ask myself the same

Do you guys go around talking to people on the streets in real life?

Random NPCs should be just background. You see them walking, talking to each other, chilling together, fighting, and that should br good enough.

Having one line of dialogue is good enough because why the fuck should you expect to talk to everyone out of nowhere?

I know it won't happen with these Free DLCs in 2021, but I'm really hoping one of those is a 3rd person mode. As much as I try I just can't get into the game with the 1st person perspective and I feel like the scale and detail of the city is lost on me.

I'm expecting a Barber & more customization, vehicles, weapons, clothing, transmog system and some mini-games

3rd person mode (unless user modded and ugly) probably won't happen due to lack of main character animations and the work it would need. There are too many closed spaces too.

But at least we should be able to see our character more. It's frustrating those 3rd person cutscenes from the promotional gameplay demo were removed, like so many other features.

Having all those different clothes, all those different weapons make you want to see them on you in game, outside of the inventory menu (and outside of photo mode obviously).

cdpr explained it to you. i was quoting them.

not a feature. just not a priority. the world is as dead and static as 99% of all open world action adventure rpgs. including neogaf's gotg the witcher 3 of course.

don't know if the first but they'll probably do it. at this point it's easier to just allocate resources to do that than convince people that the game is not gta.
Dont like to interfere like that into your conversation but i think in Witcher 3 NPCs react better to the player than Cyberpunk.
They call you names like curse you, talk about you. Also for example in Toussaint i remember when i reached the Tavern/Inn where you sit with Milton and talk about the beast, you can go outside find a group of NPCs walking and on the bridge i remember finding someone making music and the NPCs will gather and cheer for him LOL. There is also one event where in the Baron questline you can see NPCs using salt on their door to prevent curses from entering their houses. I mean some more details than NPCs in Cyberpunk.

Example.

But just to be clear i agree with your main point, i dont really care about NPC A.I and Police A.I in the game, its not an important part imo and not a deal breaker like some GTA fans are making it out to be, it just extra detail, if a player cares really that much about those interactions then they are kinda shallow imo. Those aspects do not make or break a game to me. (Apparently GTA fans who are making these constant comparisons dont care about gameplay or gunplay or mission design or side quests at all, to them an open world is npc interaction and police chase and rampage, thats what i mean that if you prefer those over the other aspects of an open world then imo you are a shallow gamer)
Your examples are nice and i can see your point. Just wanna say though one more thing that in other games its no interaction, imo this should have been the approach for Cyberpunk too. I think CDPR should have made V unable to attack civilians and therefore not capable of making Rampage and Police penalty. It was just a stupid mechanic to add imo, unless they implemented it correctly it was not needed and uncalled for. This single mechanic is making them a laughingstock in many videos. Again i dont have any issue with them and i consider them not needed and shallow aspects of game design, really. I just think they added them and therefore got more complaints in a game that is getting a lot of complains already.

If i work at CDPR, i would cut this whole aspect completely, V will not be able to harm pedestrians anymore and Police penalty is automatically removed. Police and NPC are just there to add life and immersion to the city and nothing more.

How about NPCs that actually exist for some, even limited purpose? They offer nothing to the experience or the world at current.

Yes that would be nice.

At first I thought there would be some GTA like events (the ones which pop when you drive in GTA 5). Or maybe some form of emergent gameplay. But there's none of that.

This kind of things makes an open world a lot more believable.

Keep in mind Free DLC from witcher 3 where mostly just simple updates.

They could give you a weapon skin and call it a DLC.

This where the free 16 dlc's.

  • Temerian Armor Set
  • Beard and Hairstyle Set
  • New Quest – ‘Contract: Missing Miners’
  • Alternative Look for Yennefer
  • Nilfgaardian Armor Set
  • Elite Crossbow Set
  • New Quest – ‘Fool’s Gold’
  • Ballad Heroes’ Neutral Gwent Card Set
  • New Quest – ‘Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear’
  • Alternative Look for Triss
  • New Quest – ‘Contract: Skellige’s Most Wanted’
  • Skellige Armor Set
  • Alternative Look for Ciri
  • New Quest – ‘Where the Cat and Wolf Play…’
  • New Finisher Animations
  • NEW GAME +.
At least they are free, not going to complain, really. Some games sell these stuff for money. And one of the DLCs added i remember was due to request by players to add a Witcher gear similar to the starting one, you get an armor later that looks exactly like your first witcher armor but its scaled to late game, this was just added based on request. EDIT: Actually now i remember they took the request and patched it to Hearts of Stone release. My bad :)

Personally i was disappointed in the customization part of the game, the clothing for example, i cant find a good looking clothes in the city. Well not going to lie i found very few decent ones, but most of them look awful and a lot of them are just more of the same in different colours. Now if some of those free DLCs will be a set of good looking clothing then i will really appreciate that.

oh sorry. now i realize you didn't play any of the games i mentioned. because they don't do any of that. or you did play them. but you never noticed how stupid or how static and lifeless the npcs are because nobody cares about them

The goalpost moving CDPR DF has been doing is just astronomical.

CDPR did enough to tell us this...

This has nothing to do with trying to be like GTA, this has everything to do with trying to be like a modern fucking game in 2020. This shit might fly for a game that is some dungeon RPG or looter shooter or something like that where the actual goal isn't to simulate a city, but CDPR THEMSELVES are the ones fucking tell us this shit about the NPCs....its to be expected in really any open world game trying to simulate a living city.

To really be shilling this hard to the point of now trying to argue that nobody cares about NPCs is laughable. You simply can't accept the criticism regarding this game.

Why have any type of law system if you won't have cops chase you in cars? Why even fucking have any of that as an option in the first place if you are not going to even have such a thing in the game?

Have cops and cars, yet they won't chase you in them? That doesn't sound like it makes any sense sir, it sounds more like the team is having massive issues and needed to remove, strip, delay features. They already fucking had to do that with several features. For all you know, AI being dumber then bricks and cops that can't use cars are just another set of features they are having trouble with. I've never seen anything like this in modern gaming, with a AAA game that cost well over 300 million, to lack such features and someone with a straight face thinks we are buying that its a fucking design choice and not a "we are up to are necks in bugs, crashes and glitches and must remove shit"....choice.....

So at this point, knowing what we know now about this developer's numerous issues, its very hard to believe cop chases internally wasn't one of them looking at how utterly fucking stupid the AI is... None of us would be saying this shit if it was simply some GAAS looter shooter Destiny type title bud. We are saying this because this simply isn't normal in a game that cost this much, in development for this long, about a city.....with cops and cars, with humans. Most of all....the developer themselves have told us about this "advanced ai". Suddenly when its shit, no one really "cares" about it, please look away and lets change the subject or something? I think some of you folks who are defending this stuff need to simply except the developer is having issues and hope it gets put in as free dlc, instead of this weird argument that its not to be expected, or "this isn't da gtaz doe".

Are you goingto say the same thing when its in the next update?

Will you stop playing the moment they confirm those features appearing or? I mean....it will be GTA if they make the cops chase you right? /s

So I don't know what to tell you Harm. cdpr explained it to you. i was simply quoting them. =)

vs what we got...

TheGejsza TheGejsza Agreed completely. It feels like a waste when you have all theses great guns, but the AI is so fucking stupid, it doesn't really make it a challenge, you damn near have to HUNT for the enemies to fight. ACG probably made the best points about this in his review. I can accept many things wrong with the game, but for fucks sake if its just going to boil down to "we are just playing to shoot shit and hear the story" the game manages to even fail in those areas with fake choices that amount to basically nothing and pointless killing galleries.

I expected the AI to be a challenge here based on what the developer themselves claimed and based on this being the future with hacking, I would expect what I'm doing to them, they can do to me....never really happened and many times when a fight starts, the enemies basically just stay in the same spots, never go hunting for you, don't box you in etc. I never felt like I would lose any fire fight in that game. I think I fucking died more to glitches then the actual AI doing something to me. After a while it was just "wipe mind or shock or reboot optics, sniper shot" and once you do that for 40 hours plus, its time to give it a rest and move on to other games.

The game never put me in a situation to feel I needed to do anything different and the AI was simply too dumb to pose any real threat to the point of boredom. I'll return with new game plus, the PS5 update and the free DLC aka The rest of the fucking game we already paid for comes out.

Sure, customization was among the many features which were apparently cut and it would be nice to get it back.

On the other hand, you never see your clothes outside of the inventory menu or photo mode due to the game being 1st person, so that's a bit frustrating anyway.

Photo mode doesn't work well either for 3rd person because your character looks lifeless compared to the well designed story NPCs. Another side effect of going 1st person.

This kind of things makes an open world a lot more believable.
There is a complete lack of randomness in the world other than some buggy shit that can happen from time to time.

After finishing the arasaka parade mission I exited the building and saw a reporter presenting in front of a camera. Not random but indeed a very unique occurrence in the world. Walk in front of the camera while she’s talking? She gets pissy and has to start over.

The world needs much much more of this from NPCs.

We know, you are not ready to truly have that conversation. You are going to have to accept they made theses statements man.

As it sounds like you are not even here to talk about the game honestly, you are here to force some propaganda about it.

Maybe I'm hoping for too much, but I want a plastic surgery (and a barber) npc, to change our V's physical appearance. Also minigames, there was some sick pool in one of the trailers, let me play that!

If they add all that, then I wouldn’t mind if they add a third person mode as well.

Reading that Reddit part makes me sad. The NPC/dynamic world system is nothing like promised. I’m almost inclined to believe it was a lie, given how lacking it actually is.

Agreed. Pretty much because they're basically being sued for misleading their own investors I simply don't believe they would not do the same towards consumers because it's not as if they released some statement before the game came out to tell us the NPCs don't work the same way, I have absolutely nothing against something being taken out of the game if it's simply doesn't work simply let that be transparent to the consumer as in my personal opinion the developer made the choice not to tell consumers about these changes so they could scam them into taking their money.

Did they not wait until AFTER The Witcher 3 was on sale to tell us about those downgrades? Then why would they be transparent about this?

daily routines weren't a priorty

I don't know what to tell you bud, this is literally a good 6 months or so before release

So...sounds to me like it very much was a "priorty" for them

Also stop with the fucking strawman arguments. No one is saying for it to be like GTAV in here as a genre as much as many of us are saying for it to be like the very fucking game they marketed and told people it was.

Do you have a statement of them walking back or confirming that NPC bullshit was not in the final game?
