Assassin's Creed Valhalla: PS5 vs Xbox Series X Graphics Comparison

The differences (if there are any) are way too small and the video way too shit to be able to really notice anything.

Only thing that stands out is that there is occasional screen tearing on SXS, but I didn't see any on PS5. If any other difference is there, it will probably be an imperceptible resolution thing (like one drops from 4K a bit more often) or very minor frame drops here and there.

This is still for all intents and purposes a cross-gen game, I don't think there is even ray tracing in the next-gen version? If that's the case, it's basically little more interesting than a comparison between backwards compatible games, as far as evaluating the two consoles goes.
Does ray-tracing make a big difference if the majority of the game takes place with grasslands, wooden huts, and stone buildings? There isn't much to reflect off I'm thinking.

From screenshots the game looks gorgeous. That ACG video seems like PC, and PC always have bad ports compared to consoles.

It's hilarious, PS5 lacking VRR now, and XSX having bad/no VSYNC implementation. Thinks should be fixed with later firmware updates.
I'm certain its 'adaptive vsync' on XSX, as there is no tearing most of the time. If it had no vsync at all, it would be tearing constantly.
Hopefully they patch in full vsync though.
Well many of you guys did say the dev tools for XSX are way behind PS5. Maybe this is the first 'casualty'.

If i was chosing which version to buy, based soley on this video, i'd pick PS5 for the lack of screen tearing. I hate screen tearing with a passion, and would rather have the odd bit of judder over tearing.
Of course the video is only 1080p, and slightly different times of day for most of the gameplay. We need some proper 4k comparisons, and framerate/resolution tests.
I just thought i would try and be fair, based on this vid.

So sad that RT is already relegated to reflections only this gen.

I guess they could be using it for metal surfaces and stuff like that, but for how good the artistic work is, this is definitely not a game built to be a graphical showcase.

I really hate using this term but isn't it possible to bruteforce your way through any dev kit issues? I mean there's supposed to be a 2TF difference between the two so the differences should be apparent even with the dev kit issues.

I doubt its a real comparison. There's no way they look that close.

Well both are using dynamic 4k. If there was room to spare, it wouldnt be dynamic 4k!. XSX may well get closer to 4k, or it may be identicle.
Point is you are not going to really get the 'full picture' of any power differences by using cross gen games. Using something like the next Battlefield, which has been confirmed to be next gen only, that would show any differences more.

Why do so many xbox games have screen tearing?
Is that true though?. I know Bo said he seen screen tearing in some Xbox games, but all the DF comparisons over the years, i dont really remember screen tearing being brought up much. And havent seen it brought up much on here over the years in regards to Xbox.
Xbox gamers, give us the beans.

I get all games eventually, son plays moe than me, silly backlogs. Will put it lower in the list unless its fixed.

Bad tearing is jarring and not enjoyable and worse than pop in..

All games?
So why not just get the PC version?

It was extreme in Dirt 5 before the latest patch on XSX. And never seen screen tearing while gaming personally (never owned an XSX, nor I game on my "gaming" PC). Other games than Dirt 5? Don't remember commenting on this matter.

Dont you remember a while ago when you was talking about screen tearing on Xbox games, and said you had neevr experienced it on PS4?. Thats kind of where this whole 'why does Xbox games always have screen tearing' started lol. Like i said, i dont remember any of this talk before that.

Yup thats why consoles are locked 30 or 60. Gamers play on TVs more than monitors.

I think internal VSYNC uses internal computation, so going for VRR/Freesync/G-Sync saves that power and gives the work for the TV/monitor to do it. Both add some latency that the mass majority of gamers would choose over tearing.

Well we can back at launch of last generation.

Sniper Elite had screen tearing only on Xbox One.

You will be surprise how many games had screen tearing in Xbox One and Xbox One X and not on PS4 and PS4 Pro.

It's true to an extend, because devs got too comfortable with VRR support like 1-2 years ago on X1X...

PS5 >> XSX Round 1

LOL compression .. hitty 1080p60, terrible editor, dont get wet, isa choke!
Interesting that spots are in different places, not much of a comparison, me thinks : D I see shit honestly.

Yeah because I said I've never experienced screen tearing while gaming on PS in my whole life, don't remember that. Maybe happened on PS2-1, or even PS3? Don't know, but I'm pretty sensitive for that shit. First time I knew about screen tearing was from youtubers who are PC gamers. Also read on some websites about xbox screen tearing. Lately searched and found some on PS4 have tearing because they turn off VSYNC. That's when I knew that VSYNC is the real shit because I didn't knew about its existence.

Also some games lately shown tearing on Xbox One X, I think watch dogs? And probably on XSX? didn't really go deep into it. But Dirt 5 was a torture to watch.

I said all meaning most games that are AAA as we dont do indies and stuff. I did not say all games on all systems.

We dont play PC as play allot of COD, and I prefer consoles (hackers and cheats)

Hahaha okay gotcha, that makes alot more sense cuz I was shook.

Dont worry I dont think theyll be too many cheaters and hackers when play Valhalla though.
You'd do yourself a service getting a decent machine for to use in your living room for good PC ports.
Heck you can even keep using your DualSense controller with it.

Dirt issues were not just screen tearing.
The whole game is graphically poor compared to late PS360 games.
