Yeah, and Alex in particular seems to have become a figure of hate. Even his mere appearance in a video seems to trigger some.
To be fair to him, the official name is a bit of a word salad. I remember John himself put out a tweet mocking Sony trying to explain what was BC and what was exclusive about the game, where they repeated the name of the game about 10 times.

I think if we combine a previous explanation of how budgeting resources available and still being able to hit 30fps could be working in a game like Spider-Man MM, I’m impressed to see the visual presentation we’re seeing. Combining techniques in various ways to get more from these machines is only going to get better for the dev teams with the experience and resources to take advantage of the power.
This is a good video overall IMO, but it is easy to feel that way when there really weren’t negatives to have to hear and think about.
I do feel it is a sad state to feel that I have to judge who we’re hearing the detail from and then still consider the information itself And it’s validity based on the source.

DF is a team of people not a single being.
You have two of them at best make gnashing of teeth backed / backhanded compliments when they have to towards Sony if not a “good, but...” and heavy dose of skepticism and do not lack superlatives on the other direction or “hope springs eternal” attitude while the other ones seem more balanced. Guess where Leadbetter and Battaglia stand... where John L. stands.

They really did though back when it was assumed PS5 games wouldn't also be on PS4. They said it was bad because it would hold the new Xbox back. Then when the same thing happened on PS5 they were like, well cross-gen is okay.Not sure where you were reading, but you are going for the punny points over accuracy so fine
I'm still in the anti-cross-gen camp. Regardless of platform.

Cross generation definitely holds PS5 back, it can look good but I do not believe it is how for example Spider-man would look if they had spent 2-3 years or more making a fully PS5 exclusive title. In 10-15 years maybe it will be different, but IMHO it is not today.

I disagree a bit. Yes it would look better, but I think it’s time to retire the 1.5 designation. There’s a ton of next gen features in this game and they spent money to get them in. I think where we are in video games and displays technologically we are truly at a point where cross gen has made the biggest jump graphically since the jump to PS3/360 and performance wise I believe it’s greater.

It isn't nearly as frequent as the alt accounts that get created to spread PS5 at less than 9TF bullshit.
I got an impression that Gaf mostly in bed with DF. And this video is kinda too much of nothing even for DF.
Usually videos with Alex have at least some resemblance of a competent technical analysis.

If it's a consistent 30 with a frame drop here and there, ala Uncharted, GoW, TLoU2 etc there's nothing wrong with that. And I also play on an RTX 2070, so...you should get your eyes checked.

I agree. Consistency is key. I really don't understand this hard on people have for 60hz all of a sudden. Console gamers never used to care. Now everything has to be 60hz. PC guys have been playing games at 120hz-240hz for years now. It's quite comical.
