Outlets start receiving their PS5 review hardware

Is it really likely to hit 8k? Also what is the internet bandwidth that you would need to get an 8k video stream?

Also my knowledge of blu-rays caps out at UHD, but can you get 8k disc's?

Edit: Also Jeff Grubb also thinks that 4K on a TV at a normal range is kinda unneeded so this ain't a new thing for him.

The problem is he NEVER said these things about the Xbox Series X when he got that console.

Whoa whoa, enjoy your PS5 first, I know how much of a VR fanboy you are but you just gotta let people get used to the new console hardware before they start adding new peripherals.

PSVR1 is totally compatable with the PS5 with games getting performance bumps and maybe resolution if we are lucky. Just enjoy your PSVR on the PS5 until Sony releases information on the next iteration. You could always get a Oculus Quest 2 or a HP Reverb. Options my man, they are all there.

Super selfish salty boy. :messenger_smirking:

"AMAGOD, dovote all your gaming resources into games that I want whaaaaaaaaaa"

Just because you don't like VR, you wanna spoil it for people that do? Tut tut.

Lol, I don´t even dislike VR, I just like to argue with closet fanboys.

Do we know when the embargo lifts for when they can start posting videos? I know some are posting vids of the controller but what about the console?

No DTS:X... the Dolby Audio I'm guessing includes Atmos, it has to. But the DTS logo is weirdly specific. This is an odd choice to not make the hardware DTS:X compatible, it has to be, just an odd printing thing.

EDIT: Checked the latest unofficial unboxing video Series X has a DTS:X cert, this is odd for Sony.
PS5 has no atmos support.

Tempest 3D audio is a vast superior solution than that mediocre Dolby Atmos with only 28-32 sources vs hundreds of raytraced audio sources.

It only matters for movies. For home theatre you got DTS that's as good or better.

Dolby and DTS MEDIOCRE? OMG dude, get a hold of your Sony fanboi.

Those are 2 industry standards for a reason, they're on EVERY AVR that's sold for a good reason.

Tempest 3D AUDIO EXTRAVAGANZA is only using 2 channels and making fake surround, I'm not sure what you're smoking.

You're going to have your 8K movies without the audio standards of 2020.

Hell Sony doesn't even know how to make Tempest 3D AUDIO BONAZA work with TV SPEAKERS yet(won't be available upon release)

Tempest 3D AUDIO is not a true surround technology and is by no means a REPLACMENT for ACTUAL Surround Sound Setups. It's a bizzaro "poor man's Surround" solution for a person that just spent $600 on gaming machine, it's oddball tech. It might be good for headphone users, but many console gamers in 2020 have AVRs and a nice surround sound setup.

I understand, you don't understand how audio works, but you need to stop and reflect on what you're saying.

I watch my movies on native tv apps in HDR/Dolby Atmos|Vision. I use my PS5 for gaming only.

And yes, those are extremely inferior to the Tempest 3D audio.

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
The problem is we’re a month away from launch and people are allowing outlets to get them early PS5 will be the #1 platform next gen

That's dumb! There's literally no reason to remove Dolby Atmos, unless Sony wants to save $0.45 per console to not have the license. Their 4K Blu-ray players have it and so should the PS5. Hopefully, they can patch it in sometime in 2021.

It's software based, and they're probably working on their 360 Reality Audio, which is HRTF-based true 3D audio that should work with any stereo headset with no proprietary BS.
