Out of all the next gen games that we have seen Demon Souls is probably the title with the least amount of technical issues. Not only does it look great visually, the loading is incredible and the framerate seems pretty solid to me.

If anything the game with the most technical issues would have to be Halo Infinite. Since you like to look at clipping issues you have to know that it's a pretty minor issue compared to all the other issues that the game has. Remember the spaceship clipping into the tree?

We have a brief glimpse of Xbox Series X UI and load times of games but nothing from PS5.

Both MS and Sony still have a lot to show. Disappointed in that both have not really shown us the user interfaces or did a series of video reveals on how they operate and function.

Yeah, that's really strange situation. Main reason why I holding out on pre-ordering PS5, although I planned to buy it on launch before.

Right now alot of people are asking about how they are going to expand the SSD. A teardown would answer that question. Hopefully they do one soon but I have my doubts.

In the positive side those Japanese streamers are going hands on with the system. Hopefully we hear something interesting from them. And hopefully others will get a hands on as well.

PS Now will be improved, but no one knows when it will happen. They better hurry up with the growing competition in mind (Luna, stadia, xcloud).

Little update on the PS5 preorders tomorrow in Gamestop stores.

The number each store has will be based on volume of each store just like previous Xbox preorders and will be approx double the amount your store had of the XsX.

Plus its not guaranteed to be launch day but within a week of launch and its disk PS5 only from what I gather.

Edit to add each store should put up a paper again on their door at closing tonight showing their allotment.

Because they won't order hardly any more digital versions going forward. Not a single thing about the new generation of gaming(Series S, PS5DE, Game Pass, PS+ Free games and now Plus Collection, PS Now) support their business model at all.

If anything, their gamble on next-gen consoles being their savior looks to be hastening their downfall.

It's a completely different store for PS5 stuff. Just like on your PS4 you don't see PS3 games for sale, etc. PS3 had it's own store too. Though I suppose the PS4 games may still show up on the PS5 store since you can still play them? We'll see between now and November 12th. Hopefully.

The Sony PS5 will have the fastest data loading ever available in a mass market consumer device, and we think it may be even better than you have previously heard. What makes that possible is a fast SSD, an excellent IO stack that is fully independent of the CPU, and the Kraken hardware decoder. Kraken compression acts as a multiplier for the IO speed and disk capacity, storing more games and loading faster in proportion to the compression ratio.
Sony has previously published that the SSD is capable of 5.5 GB/s and expected decompressed bandwidth around 8-9 GB/s, based on measurements of average compression ratios of games around 1.5 to 1. While Kraken is an excellent generic compressor, it struggled to find usable patterns on a crucial type of content : GPU textures, which make up a large fraction of game content. Since then we've made huge progress on improving the compression ratio of GPU textures, with Oodle Texture which encodes them such that subsequent Kraken compression can find patterns it can exploit. The result is that we expect the average compression ratio of games to be much better in the future, closer to 2 to 1.
