Zenimax is managing themselves independently of Xbox Game Studios

Too early to tell what their plans are.

They are still owned by, and a full part of, Microsoft/Xbox Game Studios. Zenimax/Bethesda don't call the shots anymore, daddy Phil is the one who said they might allow games to leave Xbox/PC on a case-by-case basis - it's his call to make and ultimately there's as little chance of PS5 getting them as getting any Xbox IP.

Well Xbox Series S/X SSD Cards are $219.99 US Dollar?

Up For Preorder on Best Buy.com
Unless MS let other manufacturers make this card, there's no price reduction on the horizon.

Here comes my train of thought about the whole Spider Man Remake shitstorm!

There are a few things added up that makes such a negative impact:

1. Sony said multiple times how BC is important for them and stated that they will update the PS4 games for PS5 increasing their performance.

2. Their whole BC explanation is really poor - they said about Ps4/PS4 Pro mode/Legacy etc. but without much of a details - can we expect 60fps/4k? Can we expect combined performance/resolution modes from PS4 Pro? They also said really important statement - at the minimum the game from PS4 will work the same on PS5 but any additional upgrades is up to developers. So any kind of upgrades of PS4 games for PS5 is dependend on a good will of a dev.

3. Microsoft comes with it's Smart Delivery - and in fact they showed Gears of War 5 and how it is upgraded for Series X where it goes above PC max settings. The diffrences are visible but not something really mindblowing. I would not call it remaster (but still it is some kind of remastering of the X1 version) -

4. In the meantime MS Smart Delivery info caused a lot of dev to ride the "good pr of MS" and annaunced upgrades for PS5 - like Cyberpunk and Assassins Creed Valhalla and some more titles I can't remember right now.

5. long-ass period of now info from sony and many of players alread took for granted that BC upgrade is something that we will get from Sony because If MS gives them why would Sony not if they were the "good guys" at current gen.

6. Info about Spider-Man Remaster not avaible for free for PS4 version owners drops. And here comes the problem - they did not show us how big changes are. This will backfire either way - some expect it to be similiar to Gears of War 5 and if MS does not want additional pay why would Sony want? Other people claims it is full remaster and expects full-power PS5 graphic. If Sony does not deliver it there will be in even more dire situation than now. Now back to point 2. - Sony statamets simplified - Good devs will upgrade games, bad devs will not. And everyone considering Sony the "good guys" expects them to somehow (similiar to how MS upgraded GOW) upgrade the PS5 version of PS4 game and charging additional fees for remaster is contradictory to what sony made us to believe - that they are a good guys that will do all they can to upgrade PS4 games on PS5.

IMO it all comes to the lack of fucking informations from Sony. How BC works? How the remaster will look like? On top of that MS pr moves a few weeks back gave players a time to get used to how upgrades will work and some kind of "vision" about how next gen will look and what can be expected.

I think it all comes from Microsoft. If Sony would stated it earlier this would have way weaker (negative) impact. And Microsoft indeed are giving upgrades but they are not calling them Remasters. It is confirmed that Gears of War 5 will have higher settingh than those avaible on PC.

MS has to tout BC, because they have no next-gen games to show. Even now after preorders are being taken, there hasn't been a next-gen game shown running on XSX. The most next-gen looking game shown on the XSX so far, has been Gears5 in enhanced mode. This is no different than Sony touting I/O speeds over raw TFLOPS. You play your best cards.

To complain about Sony when they've shown multiple games running on the PS5, that look outstanding, just because they haven't given the same level of specifics about how the system will handle a niche feature like BC is completely losing the plot. They're the ones who are actually showing the things that matter. The things that will sell the system. Millions of people aren't buying the PS5 for the ability to play PS4 games. Millions aren't buying it for a free upgrade of a handful of games released during the transition, that might actually garner a substantial audience. Millions will buy it for the launch lineup, and the first year offerings. What's MS shown on that front?

I'd be more disappointed if the roles were reversed, and the PS5 managed to sell out a large number of units based on years-old games, and 1 underwhelming tech demo that was running on PC. Moaning about the lack of info on BC on the PS5 shows how out of touch with the business this forum can be. People tie themselves in knots over the dumbest little shit, while ignoring the bright neon sign that's in their face. If BC was such a big deal, and had any meaningful impact on Sony, many of us who want a PS5 would be able to find one, instead of having the reservations filled within minutes of becoming available.

As it stands they're owned and answer to Microsoft, not Xbox Game Studios

They've left it open for interpretation a reason. They're going to be handled differently than XBGS

I kinda thought the same thing too until i watched the Larry Hyrb interview from yesterday with Pete Phil and Todd in it... they actually touched on Starfield and the games in general and they all got this kind of smirk on their faces. So i have a feeling that no, these games will not be coming to PS5. The way that they hinted about Microsoft seeing Starfield behind closed doors also makes me wonder if that's a big part of the reason why MS purchased them.

We'll have to wait and see. It could go either way with this acquisition.

More PS5 stock on amazon SA now.
I believe Sony has enough consoles but they are opening and closing the tap 🤣. They are likely monitoring the demand of every of country and relocating units based on data.

It's funny but XsX in #2 while PS5 is #32 😅. I don't know what that means. Xbox always did ok here, but far from playstation

PS5 sold out again, while you can still pick up XSX/XSS.

You are saying that part of this forum is out of touch with the business but SONY themselves stated and emphasized how important BC is and that they even commited fundamental HARDWARE solutions like 36 CU's just to make BC work nicely (and making devs life easier). Or Sony just commited to 36 CU and later had to somehow justify why their console is power-wise weaker than XSX...

Although I agree that from business perspective BC is not important when you take whole generations into perspective...

So I just saw a clip from Castle Super Beast and Angriest Pat has some interesting info on Bethesda that I didn't even know about. One of them is Zenimax was not letting Bethesda update their engine. Also one of the Board of Directors Robert Trump died recently so, that might have been the reason MS was able to buy them.

Video is time stamped.

that's not correct at all.
we know from todd howard that right after they released fallout 4, one segment of the company went into designing a new engine with a new animation engine, while another went to produce next project.

Fucking tards on the net. They are given a single piece of data and just assume the rest. HOW MANY were available? Without knowing that we have no possible way to contextualize this data. Could be <10k units based on previous XBOX sales in JP, Could be > 100k ..... but we dont know (or at least I dont and see the data in any of these tweets).

Indeed.

And xbox havent sold out in multiple European countries yet, so Japan must have had tiny batches, as they are even less interested in xbox than us.

Even big retailers have sold less than 1000 units so far in certain countries

That's exactly it. Was it small batch? Was it a massive amount? I need numbers to begin have an opinion.

Edit: This holds true for folks saying "look it didnt sell out here"..... what does that even mean?
