Japanese YouTubers are going hands on with the PS5 next week, Sony has revealed in a new post on Japan's PlayStation Blog.

The event, which is taking place as part of YouTube Gaming Week, kicks off from Sunday, October 4, at 1AM PST/6AM ET/9AM BST, and will see a number of popular YouTubers debut footage of them experiencing PlayStation 5 for the first time.

It's unclear what exactly the content creators will be playing on Sony's next-gen console out of the list of upcoming PS5 games, but one of the PS5 launch games such as Demon's Souls or Spider-Man: Miles Morales seems like a pretty safe bet.

The news also suggests we could be seeing the PS5 user interface very soon, as PlayStation head Jim Ryan has promised more reveals in the coming weeks as we ge closer to the system's November release.

The PlayStation Blog post also says that Sony will "try to have popular channel creators of the YouTube platform experience PS5 until the PS5 release period", though it's not known if this is a promise reserved exclusively for Japan, or for the rest of the world.

Considering Microsoft is on every big techies YouTube channel, and they have shown off the console, the specs, the color of the vents, the entire system broken down.

Sony acting like they don’t need to do a lot. We have still yet to see a break down of the console or the UI.

Yeah, Sony just shows off games. Who cares about that crap? What color are the vents?? You got something to hide Sony?

The breakdown of the console was the first thing we got for the PS5 and everyone lost their minds saying it was boring etc.

A demo of the console running, the UI and more gameplay is what most people really want to see.

No they have not - why is the shader arrays so large with 14 CU, what is the size of L1 and the bandwidth to feed that larger shader array ? Why is it different to all other RDNA2 arrangements of 10 CU per shader array.

MS said no comment on hotchips.

So, no, we dont.

I think this is more so that we can get the impressions of dual sense in the hands of normal people and they can kind of convey how it works. This will probably be more about the experience than the games is my guess.

Do anyone care about cringe exagerated previews from youtubers?

Yesterday i watched the reaction to demons remake from that max duud guy and i catched both diabetes and cancer after 2 min...the incredible outstanding animations bit cutted my cock off...

I can see the reactions now:

"Ees so smorrow!" While cringing.

Based on Sony's past behavior, half of these people will be guerilla marketers.

No, he meant an actual breakdown of the system of itself. The PS5 has never had that, and Xbox did it like 3-4 months ago. Not just a Wired article.

Ok Well my point still stands, is that what is going to make somebody buy the system or is it how games run on the machine?

I get some people are really interested in the finer technical details but with the amount of time that's left both platforms should be focused on showing people the experience they will be getting.

Can't stand when they show just games being run on the system. Wish they would show things like MS does like what's inside the box or how game suspend old gen games and launch to even older gen games. Why don't they talk about how it plays last, last last and last last last gen games?

big techies like austin? lol

c´mon let´s be honest for a second, those are unboxing channels, even that canadian lesb .... wearing sandals. if they wanted a tech to have proper teardown, they would ask level1tech, but he got no subs. compared to the "big techies".

Also, did we see the UI of the XSX, XSS yet?
Not even the german PR for Xbox has.

I'm honestly not sure what people are expecting to see other than a game running like it does on any other console or PC. If one of them had any major errors then it would have been pointed out by now.

It's more about the end to end experience.

From turning on the console, interacting with the UI, playing the game, how the UI features might interface with the game you are playing etc. I know Xbox have shown some snippets but there's absolutely nothing out there for the PS5 so far.

I'm guessing it's going to be pretty similar to the PS4s UI. But I am expecting some features to take advantage of the I/O.

I don't know if it would get someone to buy the system (I mean, do you look under the hood when you buy a car? I do!), but the teardown was promised in that "Road to PS5" presentation.

We have seen enough games by now, even with long gameplay demos (GT7, Ratchet and Clank, Spider-Man and Demon Souls), there is nothing new these YouTubers will be able to show us as all launch titles were shown... maybe that AllStars Racing thing or whatever it's called.

I personally really want to see how to expand the storage, what cooling solution they came up with and the UI.

Anyway, the event is appreciated. I'm just not hyped for it.

Well maybe, I drank a little bit of the hateraid. But promo is promo, and microsoft is pushing that promo tea real hard so far vs the competition.
