2... first is mine, the second is for a friend or will be a backup in case the first doesn’t make it. Since I just got an Amazon email saying they can’t guarantee it’ll arrive, glad I have two in my name. Rest assured, I’m not flipping the second, it’ll find a home with someone who will use it.

I got one from amazon but may end up selling it to my co-worker who’s son really wants one (and no I am not making a profit, just charging her the msrp). I want the series X and will maybe get a ps5 later down the road I don’t need it right now. Hopefully I can get a series x on Tuesday from Best Buy or Amazon.

I feel kind of foolish for not having pre-ordered one on Amazon. Last generation I pre-ordered a PS4 on Amazon and then went on eBay and sold my pre-order. What this means is that the person paid me for me to put their shipping address in instead of mine. This was very lucrative for me because Amazon took more than a month to get it shipped and because of all the problems it caused they gave me it free and also credited my account. Meanwhile I was not beholden to do anything special for the person I was doing this for so I kept all the profit from him didn't spend a cent on the console and got a credit. Maybe I feel like karma is real and I shouldn't have done that so I didn't bother trying to pre-order this time lest I give in to those desires.
It's unfortunate though because if I'm not able to get one before 2021 things are going to be a little boring for me parts of my PC are currently failing and for reasons I will not detail I can only play games that are about 10 or under gigs in size so a lot of old games. To be fair I do have a very big backlog of old games but I can picture it being hard to enjoy them while everyone else is enjoying the new flashy thing. You might be wondering why I don't just fix my PC and this is again to avoid temptation if I swap out the parts that need to be swapped it might delay what I know I need to do which is build a new pc and I'm planning to do that sometime in early 2021. I'm trying to use discipline here and be good about these things. It's a good thing I enjoy conversations about games I'm not even playing on here otherwise I'd be pretty bored and might be pretty bored all the same.

l was lucky to get 3 (one per store). The rule is one per house, also they do prioritize people with buying history.
Today at 11 am there is one more (Yodobashi camera) so I need F5 like crazy.
Amazon JP ps5 is 4000 us.

Minus the non-voters, we have 184 people here who preordered the ps5.
If we assume that the >5 volks have ordered 6 consoles we get 366 playstations, probably more.
If we extrapolate this for neogaf, pre-orderers get 2 playstations on average while others who want one get none. So with 337 voters there would have been enough for everyone.

I got 5.... reason is because based on last preorders for PS4 many retailers could not actually ship all the preorders so I pre-ordered in case some didn't come through at 4 different locations. Ebgames, Walmart, thesource and 2 from Amazon (disk and diskless)
Keeping diskless and giving another to nephews, if they all actually send day 1 I will find family and friends that wanted them and sell to them at cost.

Because scalpers exist and they’re absolute cunts. I have a friend at work who tends to buy multiple products (like once he bought three oculus quests back when that was super hard to find) so he keep one and sell the rest for a profit.

Old fashioned is camping out at the local electronics store for days before console launch. Then the mad rush to pick up a console when the store opens, fighting your way through hordes of people.Pre-ordering takes away the greatest of new console traditions, refreshing the page of the stock checker website, and clambering to get a console in your basket before they're sold out.
