And you are right about overall look, but we are talking about the same talented team that knows how to make their assets. It's like comparing RE2: Remake to RE3: Remake. Same overall talent involved. Same rich color palette, etc..
More advanced or equivilant graphical techniques is no guarantee that a game would look better then another. In the end, what everyone thinks is the better looking game is a matter of presentation, graphical techniques, art direction, and subjective reasoning. Hence the massive debate on what everyone thinks the past 5 years had the best looking game. No one can point to a single release in the past 5 years that is the definitive best looking game.I try very hard to steer away from subjective comparisons as that's completely unarguable. We can only argue facts. It'll be interesting to see what they change though for HFW. I'm excited to discuss this further when it comes out.

1080ti or less ? Why are you constantly downplaying the feature sets of next gen consoles ? Have you played on either the xsx or ps5, to know their capability ? We really don't know how next-gen consoles will perform or behave and they are using hardware currently not even out for general PC buyers, that is the reality, comparing it to a rtx 2070 or 1080ti or whatever you want to pull out is simply bollocks.
As for this port, if you don't have a playstation, be thankful you get a really decent game to play, it really is a good game and I hope they fix the performance related issues... I was thinking of picking this up and testing it out using steam proton on Linux. If it runs ill probably get it (reports so far not looking good though)

Its' too bad we can't take screenshots with HDR enabled.

It requires 2GB of extra storage space so it must be crashing for some other reason. Are your clocks stable?so anyone with a tips to not crash at shader compilation ?

Can we please stop saying Guerrilla ported this game....because they DIDN'T. Also aside from the mediocre port I'm pretty sure Death Stranding doesn't have as much going on as HZD does.Ding. Ding.
Its a side-project for Guerrilla not their bread and butter. Most likely done relatively quickly with a small team, who might have ended up facing a bigger task than expected due to it being based on an old version of their tech/engine.
Most of all though, just because a game uses PC-builds/toolsets during development you shouldn't expect it to be built optimally for that platform! Back when the game was being developed there was a single target for release, the PS4, hence any and all optimization would be done for that platform.
This is most likely why Death Stranding came out so much better, because PC as a release platform was in mind from the start, not an afterthought years after delivery.

The reported crashes are bad and needs to be patched ASAP.
However, the FPS results are more or less in line with where they should be in my book. PS4 Pro does a stable 30 FPS at roughly 1800p. Assuming that consoles (not just PS4) has a 20-30% efficiency advantage over PC due to a fixed hardware platform gives you exactly the results that people are seeing. 20-30% sounds about right to me.
