It's a bold move on their part, but hey at least they are upfront and setting realistic expectations here. I am still intrigued by the 40minute state of play. Would be fun to catch it live nonetheless. Also can we not have that robotic female voice over from past state of plays, i fear that's who's going to speak this time around as well

Plus Phil has stated they won't lose the pricing war or power war. XSX won't be more than the PS5 thats for sure. Either XSX/PS5 will end up being the same price, or MS undercuts the XSX vs PS5. Then there is Lockhart. Going to be fun to watch.

They could announce the price any day and you would have a problem with it. The event is in about 3 days, lets see what happens.

Mmm it might be possible that they know PS5 is more expensive than Lockhart so they want to announce the price together with some big game announcements to make people think the higher price is worth it.

The thing is.... It's just a video showing ps4 games.
There is no reason to be disappointed or to be a fail. It's not an event, just a promo video at the end of the PS4 cycle, showing some the of the last games to arrive on the console.... If you don't care about the games that's fine.... Also... If you think that this is vapourware or that Gran Blue is unknown, even though it's one of the most famous gaming franchises in Asia and has a huge following world wide, made by one of the richest japanese studios:

It's an Insomniac game so it's bound to look at least pretty good.
The original is one of the prettiest games ever.
In any case, it's not just Spider-Man. Most of the big games they showed are close enough to release that they could be showing extended gameplay.

I'm sure it'll be a decent stand alone, expansion that looks mostly cross gen with some fast loading times. 343i is so incompetent that they're the first major 1st party game to aim for 120fps. And the gameplay thus far of Halo Infinite looks great, reminescent of Halo CE.

What if Sony really did blow their AAA wad already and other games aren't ready to be shown... all that would be left is system tear down pricing and availability i guess which wouldn't be appropriate for a State of Play.
