Am I getting bankrupt? Is Sony trying to destroy me?

PS5
Sony XH90 TV
A7S III
And now a car!

I've joked to my friends few years back saying that if Sony made a car it would be my dream car, and I would leave Nissan. (Joking, will have both):lollipop_anxious_sweat:

EDIT: And Xperia 1 II:lollipop_downcast_sweat:

This might be a little long but I want to go through Sony's first parties to think about potential IP revivals that could be coming:

Sony Bend - Maybe a Syphon Filter reboot? I would 100% definitely be down for that, but they're most likely working on Days Gone 2.

Insomniac - Seems like they're always working on 100 projects at once but I doubt that between Ratchet, 2 SpiderMan games, and probably a PSVR2 game somewhere, I doubt they could be working on a Resistance game too. My hunch is that the Ratchet and Clank and Miles Morales teams will come together after those projects launch to reboot Resistance.

Sony London - A perplexing studio. They used to be a AAA studio but haven't been for these last 2 generations. The VR game Blood & Truth began life as a Getaway game. I would LOVE a PS5 Getaway reboot. They're probably sticking to VR though.

Guerrilla - working on a first person shooter right now that will have a strong multiplayer focus along single player. My heart believes it's SOCOM, logic suggests it's probably a new IP or Killzone.

Bluepoint - Its so bizarre to me that everyone throughout the games industry/media seem to forget that Bluepoint teased that they're remaking 2 games for Sony. They straight up said so in one of their cryptic tweets last year. We know one is Demon's Souls, could the other be MGS?

Japan Studio - Not even going to begin to speculate for Japan Studio. Cerny is probably making something again. It could be anything from Ape Escape to Jak or.....Knack.

Feels weird right now, I expect sequels coming from most Sony games at this point and I don't like that. It's the side effect of pretty much everything being a hit. I feel like Sony will need to make an effort to get a bit more creative and weird like they always were, instead of coasting on sequels.

My idea is for Sony to partner with smaller devs to bring back old IPs under more controlled budgets, IPs that maybe can't be sustained as an AAA but would work on a smaller level.

Off-loading IPs like Uncharted or Killzone to new studios is a good idea as well.

IMO, Silent Hill is probably the worst kept secret in the industry. Way too much smoke around that series.

You mean to tell me an official Twitter account was formed less than a month ago, you got the internet spinning with the cryptic siren tweet(using Dead by Daylight as the reason), it is one of the series' that skipped a generation(not counting HD Collection) and multiple(very accurate) insiders stating it exists, but your tweet says "Oh, nothing is happening it'd come from the official source"?

I haven't because part of the reason why Kraken can go up to 22GB/s from the normal 9GB/s is by supposedly by coding the textures with Oodle.
My understanding of this field is very limited, but the RAD guy had this to say when they announced Oodle:

Everyone's understanding of this was that the data given by Cerny were all pre-Oodle, including the best-case scenario at 22 GB/s.

I think he's just referring to the 8-9GB that the questioner was asking, and also with the link to another post, when running Oodle does 22GB seem to be reached. But hey... If it's really without Oodle and even more with data can be compressed with it. Even better.

Konami even said on their twitter: "Anything official would come from first from @SilentHill or an event or something "

That's way too specific, so it either exist of Konami is trolling us.

I'm not even a fan of the franchise or anything, but it's clear to me they're definitely hiding something, ever since those weird tweets and especially that strange wording, it's a dead giveaway.

Apparently there is an unannounced game which will be exclusive to PS5. Only clue us that it is a game which skipped a generation ( did not appear since PS3 ) . A little bit of listening pleasure for the hype train...

My brain tells me this is the Silent Hill reboot but my heart wants it to be Armored Core VI.

what's your greatest reaction video for ps5 event? i really liked this one

Oh boy glad you asked me that, cos there's a crazy ton of videos of youtubers whom I've been seeing since day one of the reveal event. Here's a few, would ask you all to watch them all, some of these folks reacted in ways similar to how I felt when watching it live. The excitement is genuine and it's infectious yall.

Level Cap Network's reaction

The Gaming Resume - This was my favorite out of them all I think

Angry Joe's reaction was priceless

KindaFunny - They are bringing them sexy vibes - Tim Getty's hahaha hilarious and entertaining

Oh shit, it looks fire

It's got the hour glass figure, that is sexy :D haha, another classic reaction

BeardoBenjo - That looks sexy, I am going to say it

State of Play early Aug going into games. Some sort of video digging deep into UI and other functions of the system not yet announced late Aug then tear down video early Sept.

Might swap those last event but timing would remain the same.

Hmm, if they're digging into UI and services in late August then I don't think we are getting price in this early August event. They probably want to go later than 'Xboxing day' I guess? Which in turn is slated for mid-August whereby they'll reveal Lockhart and the prices. But, the thing is Xbox themselves can delay this unannounced event to a later date, one after Sony's late August event.

Wish Sony would stop playing chicken and just go ahead with the price reveal.

So, I was browsing around and found something that may get us fans jonesing in anticipation.

It looks like Jez Corden has also joined in saying that Sony has secured some major third party exclusives this time. And seems to be major stuff akin to the days of Final Fantasy, etc. and not just the ol' "Call of Duty maps and marketing" shtick.

This is in-line with what Imran Khan(I believe?) said a while back also. Exciting to see it, but I have to admit I'm not always the biggest fan of moneyhats.

Hehe, called it few days ago.

He also mentioned that Sony have already locked out big 3rd party stuff, which I guess are CoDs and FIFAs. Unsure about any WB stuff tbh, there are rumors of acquisition by EA/MS. But, marketing deal for either Batman/Harry Potter game should've been done by now by either publishers. With Sony, I get the feeling they have money-hatted a very big 3rd party game which hasn't been revealed yet. Imagine the scenes if its something like FFXVI, yikes!

While, MS are going around locking down a ton of indie/AA stuff for their Game Pass service. Sony, will money-hat fewer but much bigger projects. The inevitable meltdown should be entertaining.

Unless Sony paid for it, it doesn’t make since any more for 3rd party to release exclusive games. 1 year contract maybe.

I think it makes a lot of sense right now for the 3rd parties to go exclusive without putting too much of a charge on Sony.

The thing again is gamepass. Consider the impact that makes to sales of games on gamepass platforms .... people are talking up and down about how gamepass saves money - but in only does that if you don’t also buy full price games. They’ll play game pass games and wait for stuff to come to that service.

If a 3rd party AAA developer wants to make $60 games on gamepass platforms, they have to compete with a whole load of cheap shovelware, XGS GaaS content and the one or two old, big budget games MS signs to the service.

It’s not a level playing field to compete for $$$. It’s like a major movie competing with the profusion of Netflix originals. To make that money back the movie needs a big theatrical release and the ticket sales at the box office.

On Sony platforms right now, it is a level playing field (at least Sony haven’t announced any changes to that yet). So I can see why third parties might feel they should go exclusive to PS for a period - they can drive full price sales and get the bump that comes with the exclusive tag, then release on Xbox down the road and perhaps jump onto gamepass to hoover up some cash from that.

Until we see how sales of HW and SW shake out post launch it’s difficult to be sure, but I think 3rd party devs who don’t want to be part of gamepass - that would be all the big producers - are probably wary of the competitive landscape on Xbox.

Rumour: Dualsense lasts 3-4 hours longer than the Dualshock 4. (So 10-12 hours total?)

Text form just in case.

I have information on the dualsense, and its from the person who leaked the dualsense

Its from u/viper_on_fire, the person who had the dualsense in hands and posted it in this subreddit, but then deleted it. they tried the controller and he told me what he felt with it The Buttons: The D-pad and the main buttons feel similar to the dualshock 4 with no differences overall However, the Touchpad does feel more responsive and clicky as he tried it. The triggers are interesting, the L1 and R1 dont click, they push down as they're triggers, the L2 and R2 however, felt harder to push down than normal, even without the tension points activated. Battery Life: They noted that it averaged around 3 to 4 hours more than the dualshock 4 The Comfort of it: They noted that it is much more comfortable than the dualshock 4 and less bulky overall, they even noted that it was more comfortable than the Xbox one controller in thier eyes. Haptic Feedback and the Microphone: They told me that they didnt get a chance to play with those features around, however they did tell me that they would try it in a later point and that they would notify me. Other Stuff: The Lightstrip is much dimmer than the dualshock 4's lightbar They also noted that PSVR wont support this controller due to not having a lightbar. Note: i had to delete the previous one due to the fact he didnt like to reveal himself, now that he got to, i decided to repost it

EDIT: Still dont believe me? this video is his hands on of the controller, the one he deleted

I like exclusives like Bloodborne. Games that simply wouldnt be possible without Sony's funding. FF7 and FF16 though? I dont know. Square Enix would make those games regardless and make a bajillion dollars from them.

It seems Sony has let Ueda slip away which sucks. I really hope it's an "extra" game we are getting from either Platinum games, Kojipro (MGS), Capcom or From Software. Something Sony fully funded and said hey, we want this as a playstation IP from your talented studio. here is a blank check.

Unless they simply got sent PS5 Dev kits way before they got XSX kits, so we're much further along with that version of the software. Similar to how X360 locked down Dead Rising in the first place?
