Huge Halo Infinite Leak | 4K 120 FPS on Xbox Series X ?!

Sorry if old, but I didn't see anything talking about this.

According to this leak, Halo Infinite will run at 4K/120 fps, Ultra Hi settings on XSX, and 1440p, high settings, 60 fps, with RT enabled.

The XBox One version hasn't held the Game back.but it is noticeably worse looking, running at PC "Very Low" settings, and runs at 900p / 30 fps on Base XBox One hardware.

It was developed first and foremost with Next Gen in mind, (they used PC Hardware as a basis for the compute power), so the XBox One Version is more like a XBox series X port to XBox One rather than vice versa.

After that, the leak talk about gameplay and The Campaign.

Ok, I have no idea how reliable this leak is, but as for the fact that the game is basically developed with XSX in mind, it makes sense, and I would only consider this option if I was MS. XSX is the most important hardware and it needs a Killer App at Launch which take advantage of the power and new features of the new hardware, as a true showcase for the Next Gen.

Thoughts ?

Why should I believe this leak? This sounds like anyone could have made this guess...

And haven't all the first party games been getting day and date releases with the PC version? Gears did. Don't know why they would veer now after they've set the tone for what players should expect from their releases... It's only going to annoy people.

It's a leak, we are not supposed to believe it, take it with a grain of salt. But if you ask me, I'm quite sure XSX is the lead platform, and XBox One would get kind of a port, massively downgraded. MS need to push XSX, this is the only available option which makes sense.
Don't focus on the 120 fps, but the whole picture. I'm so curious, can't wait for the 23rd of July.

the game has to run on Xbox One, so getting it to 120fps on Series X should be super easy to say the least. but at the settings described? that's a bit less likely, but I mean we don't know what the "ultra high settings" are and how taxing they are.

1440p60 with raytracing... well that could be true as well. raytracing is also something that's a very scalable thing. half resolution RT reflections and maybe some RT AO here and there, while boosting performance by using a mix of RT and Screenspace effects in order to make RT less taxing... there's a lot you can do with this.

Can't believe the 120fps on Ultra. Maybe the other stuff I do.

Also, redesign needs to be more like the first Halo. Very colorful and with distinct foes, not the blend that they made

Not news to me FPS are the only games doing 120 nextgen I’m calling it also side note graphics will be downgraded for frame rates just my opinion MS is not know for pretty and responsive

I thought the xbox one version would be 720p 30fps so they've done well.

I hoped xbox would just send a memo to developers that 720p dynamic resolution 30fps was fine for xbox one and between 1080p and 1440p dynamic resolution for the xbox one x at whatever fps they could get.

I don't think anyone would likely moan too much.

I think this is bs reason being gt7 in ps5 is 4k 60fps doing raytracing also rachet and clank is 4k 30fps with raytracing so yeah im expecting this game to around gt7 4k 60fps raytracing

This seems like BS given the demos we have seen of RT on XSX. I cannot see 1440p 60fps (from a game built for XSX) with RT when the Minecraft demo (on XSX HW) was 1080p and didnt hit 60fps. That is unless it is very smart and limited on RT (not full RT lighting).

Mincraft RT is the heaviest imaginable, it’s a terrible point of comparison to a game like Halo which would only have RT reflections and perhaps shadows.

I don’t get how y’all get yourself to write stuff like this. Different game engines for one and Halo was built for the Series X They have already come out and said so.

I know people will talk framerates and resolutions but honestly what has me doubting this the most is that his post start by claiming there will be a free 3 hours long CGI movie released before the game which seems like it would be insanely expensive as a marketing tool, unless it looks like Beast Wars.

Also, if it's just a 4Chan post with no new footage, screenshot or anything to back up those claims wouldn't it be a "rumor" more than a "leak"?

If true though that's be pretty crazy. Even if a current gen game, native 4K at 120fps with ultra graphics settings would be insane.

From what I know, there's Ray-Traced Reflections , Advanced Ray-Traced Reflections , Ray-Traced Shadows , Ray-Traced Global Illumination , Ray-Traced Caustics , Real Time Ray Tracing , etc. and combinations of various techniques, Now I'm not a tech Guru, so it would be so wellcome if the ones with much more understandings would elaborate on it. I still wouldn't be so surprised if there will be a "Performance Mode / 120fps, and an "RT" mode with whatever kind of RT.

4K 120fps would be a dead giveaway that this was designed for the Bone.

Not necessarily.

343 would have known that the XSX would be capable of 120fps early on. They may of decided to build a game designed to hit that specification from the beginning. Then they just scale the game down from there.

4K/120fps over HDMI 2.1 is why the series X exists why would have infinite not be at least be able to do that

some of the responses in this thread are......odd

Hobbygaming

has been asked to post in 'Grounded' mode.
If Halo Infinite really was 4K 120 FPS I'd expect it to look like a slighty enhanced current generation game rather than a full on next gen game

No way this is real, it sounds too demanding especially with RT

FacelessSamurai

..but cry so much I wish I had some
I could see a 120fps mode, but IMO we should expect a 60fps campaign along with a 120fps multiplayer with the option to go higher graphics at 60fps. No way the campaign will be any higher than 60, unless it’s dynamic 4K and even then it probably would hover around 1440p most of the time. Unless it’s using dynamic res with reconstruction to 4K, you never know I guess.

Lol, damn XO be holding back the XS, shameful MS shameful! :messenger_smirking:
Jokes aside 120FPS is becoming more of a prominent word from MS camp, I wonder if that's why they went with 3.6 - 3.8GHz CPU.
The options in the video sounds possible looking back at DF's take about NG + FPS boost, this video/leak (4Chan) might be viable.

first of all is the source reliable?
I do think this leak is just to set people for disappointment.
I expect 4k 60FPS only

Buuut what about the narrative that last gen is gonna hold back next gen

I can believe 4k/120 but at what cost to the visuals, like some have said.

If it only looks moderately better than HALO 5 but 120fps, would people be satisfied? Granted, I think HALO 5 looks pretty damn good. This would be a true measure of how people really feel about graphics vs frame rate. It's very hard to have both, ask the PC guys, there's always some kind of comprise that has to be made. I've tried my best to keep my expectations of next gen in check, but it hasn't been easy with the way these companies are talking up their machines.
