Here's the official channel version in 4k60:

My only complaint so far is that the new look is very flat and basic, it seems like they've ditched all the detail design from NST and CTR and gone with something that's bright and flat, nothing seems to have texture, it's very plastic.

The ending but got me. So pretty much everything wrath of cortex and beyond has been retconned.

I can live with this

MMMMMH... expecting a Nintendo Direct in the next months to announce the Switch version, i guess.

it seems weird they are skipping it.

No PC version? Pisses me off. What the heck is with this trend from Activision? We still do not have CTR on PC. Publishers/Devs can be mentally challenged at times. A day 1 miltiplatform release with crossplay and they could have ended with a game to rival Mario Kart...

Can't believe there's no switch version lol. Surely that will be announced eventually. I'll play the ps5 version of this in 60fps hopefully.

I reckon this will be a big test for Toys for Bob, can they make new installments and make em near the quality of the originals? If the answer ends up being a no, then I expect both Crash and Spyro to return to the freezer for a while.

LOL, I actually like how both look. My problem is I really like the digital costumes especially Coco's, but I buy physical. So I'm going to probably end up double-dipping on this one.

I guess they want a less 'photorealistic' model and pursuit a cartoon side. This can give the Switch version a little breath side (no more fur). I not against art direction, but I really hope they don't give us another excuse for not put a 60 fps game.

No Crunch Bandicoot then, this is a straight sequel to Warped...well, it might take place BEFORE wrath of cortex, no problem there

I love how they just joked about all games after 3 being non-canon now at the end of the trailer. Definitely waiting for the reviews to come out, but this looks like it will be a really damn fun game to play

I think it looks cool and I'm happy to see Crash being brought into the future for real. Toys for Bob have to find their own way and to me it seems they have a good balance between nostalgia and their own style.

On PS Blog they also mention that there are two modes:
...
and the ability to switch between Modern and Retro modes (one mode tailored to those seeking that old school platforming vibe, while the other is a little more forgiving, but no less difficult to master).

Sounds perfect. :messenger_peace:

Yep, that's crash. Body Slam, double jump is there. New power ups look good, most likely a replacement for the death tornado spin & bazooka. Those broke the level design in Crash 3 even if they were really fun. Hmm if it's using Unreal 4 I wonder if they're still going to use the pill shaped hitbox for Crash's model.

So their marketing strategy is working. They know pretty well what they are doing here. I probably will double-dip if a Steam version is announced.

You have my attention with this. I saw the gameplay trailer with bits of some levels and thought it all looked a little too floaty and imprecise compared to the new Remakes (I know, different studios). I guess its good to have both options because whether people like it or not, I'm pretty sure that the majority who will play the games are the old fans.

Looks great, seems to stay true to the originals which is nice.

I think Crash looks great. This design looks closer to how I pictured him as a kid than the one they used for the remakes

I loved Crash Bandicoot games back in the day....I also sucked at them! Great fun tho when this hits 20$ I'll buy

I like what I saw, I only hope they do more than just 30 levels, having Crash 4 to be just as many levels as the OGs when we just had the trilogy at over 90 levels would feel kinda meh IMO but if it's at a reasonable price I can see why they would only go for 30 levels

I'm glad to hear about this. I would enjoy more fun, lighthearted games on the PS4, rather than all the dark-grim "mature" stuff. I skipped the earlier Crash games, in part because I'd already played them on PS1 or 2, also because they seemed frustrating, but I'll check out a new one.

I prefer this design. Everything looks like it's out of a toy world but at least Crash doesn't look like he was modeled and animated by a child (the detail of N.Sane Trilogy was good but the facial expressions weren't good).

I've never liked the Crash games, bit I have to admit the new character design is amazing, I love how expressive they all are, it's funny by default.

Just straight up retconning everything post Warped feels a bit stupid and like it's pandering to a minority. Sure, the later games (wrath, twinsanity, mutants, etc) might have left a few people disappointed, but i wouldn't exactly call them bad games.

Oh and btw, check the disclaimer at the end. This trailer was made "in-engine" so final game might look really different than what's presented here.

Running animations and textures are closer to Spyro Reignited than to N Sane Trilogy

The game itself seems great, but the art choices are hard to swallow

Will buy it anyway

I just hope loading times are not in the Spyro/N Sane levels of long

the trailer on Playstation Youtube channel is 60fps on this new game, but they have upload PC gameplay trailers before. I suppose you are talking about CTR or Trilogy, I really doubt Activision will patch those remakes

I was indeed quoting a post about CTR.

Ouch

It looks like Activision/Toys For Bob have not bothered to get in touch with Josh Mancell, the original music composer for the series, that's a real shame considering how Beenox did for CTR remaster.
