So yeah, it's just utter ignorance on your part. Not surprising.
What is wrong in that comparison that triggers you so, pray tell?

I don’t know man, the only one calling names and acting triggered at a mere comparison between the character model and the real life person is you.

And still you haven’t said where is the “lie”. Maybe if you calm down for a second you can actually verbalize where is the lie.

I'd rather lead you down this path of stupid you've paved. So tell me, what is your issue with that comparison?

I don’t have any issue, it’s another source of laughs thanks to Cuckmann and his silly Anita Sarkeesian based agenda.

Imagine being so triggered by the sexiness of a woman you reduce her boobs in the game.

I’m guessing he’s never been with a woman to know what a push up bra can do to a woman’s bust.

Is this really your official response? That the difference is a push up bra :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Just when I thought the damage control couldn’t get more desperate.

If it's a just a minority, why care what they think? How could a minority make others not buy tickets to see a movie? How come this didn't work with Wonder Woman or Captain Marvel? It's just a tired old excuse Hollywood likes to use when they get called out on their woke agenda pushing.

Because you have far right YouTube channels with a platforms to complain.

Wonder woman worked because it was an established character.

There were some "woke" moments in Captain Marvel, but Brie Larson didn't help when she was talking politics while promoting the film.

Replacing male characters or making them buffoons and have the female characters be the ones in charge is a woke move to make if it's pushing a women are just as good(or better) than men message. Yes, Dark Fate fits that stereotype.

That's not the message. That's how you choose to view it.

It's incredible how some people can't understand how just switching the gender of the hero in a movie or game doesn't mean an agenda is at play.

If this is the quality of games SJW Politics produce... gimme more

looks amazing, killing really seams gruesome. never seen a game get it to hit this close emotionally. Hats of to Sony for producing such a violent game as their blockbuster, definitely not for kids.

Can't even imagine what ND is gonna cook up for PS5

So this is what you think happened, is it?

Let’s see;

-Famous videogame creator who says that he is influenced by a crazy feminist, who also complains about women sexualized in videogames and the male gaze.

-Videogame creator that also does a press conference telling the world he has a secret agenda of making his characters not sexualized.

-Then the videogame character of his game has misteriously smaller boobs than the real person. Basically she is an ironing board attached to a nose.

But no, it must be because the real person is always wearing pads or push up bras :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Implying Ellen Page isn’t a lesbian who also likes to dress in a boyish way.

Basing Ellie on Ellen Page was a very deliberate and careful choice.
I know youre trying to reach for something but every character is dressed “tomboyish” aka practical. Gay male characters in the series arent flamboyant.
latest
And all the straight female characters arent any less “tomboyish”.

Its not some dress statement, it just is.

I pointed out before that Lara Croft was created because they wanted to see a strong female character in video games. People don't know this because 1) They haven't done enough research and 2) she was attractive with a huge chest.

Back in the day, we thought it was cool to see female characters in video games and in lead roles. Now you see people whining about SJW crap. lol.

Damn son, stop digging.

So what exactly is wrong with that breast size? Are these "too small"?:

I would have preferred Khatia Buniatishvili for Dina (instead of Cascina).
But she would have probably cost a ton of money to Naughty Dog, just to get her image/semblance/likeness for a character in the game.

What money?

Do you think ND paid anything to Ellen Page or the black actress they based Nadine on?

Jesus christ man you've made literally about 30 posts in this thread about the same damn shit, what upsets you so much that you are going to these lengths to discredit it?

It's just a game. Maybe have a walk outside in the dark for a bit, it's warm in Spain of an evening this time of year.

I did went to take a walk, thank you. But now we are past midnight here and there is a little thing called confinment for some virus you maybe could have heard of.

And I’m not trying to discredit the game. The game seems amazing and I can’t wait to play it. And also has a political agenda, which is fine, but it does have it and both those statements can be true at the same time.

Sorry for the miriad of messages, too many anti anti SJW quoting me.

We need a new name for someone who disagrees with the radical agendas of the SJWs because being anti SJW is a positive position to take. I occupy the middle ground, but I hate social justice warriors and bigots. Perhaps 'bigots' is the word you were looking for? Ironically though, I hate SJWs because I hate bigots.

Yeah, it’s not like Cuckmann himself has told the world that he is influenced by Anita Sarkeesian, someone who he regards as a heroine.

Neither he has hold press conferences claiming he has a secret agenda of making female characters “less sexualized” and other miriad of SJW hot takes.

Yeah, totally a silly assertion to call this person a SJW crusader.

He's not wrong though, like at all? Here's a thing: I'm not against very sexy women in games or damsel in distress tropes when a game is designed around overall objectification or some fantasy shtick. And I do think that girls and boys can have both masculine and feminine role models.

In any case, his original idea for women-only virus is plain bad. The examples of "bad" character designs he shows are also good examples of bad sexualisation: Quiet, Cortana are characters who do not need to be this blatantly sexualised, in fact it goes against their role in the respective games! Why would you make a sexy-bikini AI? Why would an elite sniper wear no clothes crawling through the sands of Afghanistan (and no, Kojima doesn't get a skin-breathing pass for just being a perv)? If you want to make sexy female characters nobody would object to - you can still do it but as games move away from being aimed at 14-year old horny boys, and narratives become less Duke Nukem and more Assassin's Creed so the style should move from just hot babes to relatable female characters who engage you emotionally and not just as eye-candy.

Naughty Dog themselves have beautiful female models in Uncharted's Helena and Chloe. They can do that cause these games are adventure fantasy escapism and every character is slightly-over-the-top. A lot of AAA games have great female characters, they are just aiming to make sure that they are not unrealistically sexualised if it's not necessary for narrative. But it's not wrong to say that a lot of times the characters are sexualised to please male audience in a way which is not relatable to their function in game.

If TLOU is aiming for realism having bikini-wearing hot-ass Ellie is definitely over-the-top and totally unreasiltic. The first game had both strong male and female characters, Tess, Bill, Marlene, Joel. It looks believable because in real world in collapse they behave as scavengers and survivors and their sex or hotness doesn't matter. Nobody had outrages at strong female leadership then. Druckmann made a good choice of driving this for the game which strives for extreme realism. I have much more immersion because both Ellie and poor PSVita chick have much more practical outfits, haircuts and don't have makeup on cause who would care in such society?

But saying that it's some SJW crusade is plain wrong. It's about the maturation of game designers, their interest moving from T&A to complex character both male and female and the maturation of game design. The trailer was great at showing extreme lengths they go in animations, sound design, enemy design to achieve the look of this world.

Jon, what's going on with you? This is low grade trolling. I clicked on your post history and it's even worse than I thought. I'm counting there 45 posts in the last 24 hours on TLOU2 and why you hate it.

I'll be honest with you, I was caught trolling a bit and paid my time so I'm on my best behaviour now. I did a bit of console warring always as a joke, for light relief (that's in the past now). But with you, given the sustained campaign of posts, the sheer number of them on the same subject, I'm not sure anyone is having fun here. Which is quite worrying as it seems this game genuinely fills you with rage. This is no joke to you.

When I feel myself getting raged up inside over a fictional video game character or feel stressed because I'm in an imaginary battle of wills with a video game creative director, I have a wife and a kid that puts it all in perspective. I get annoyed a bit but then half hour later I'm distracted and get some happiness through the family. No seriously. Same thing happens when watching football, I'm pissed off if we lose but then I see my toddler and play with her and it's all gone.

Do you have a girlfriend/boyfriend or something away from videogames to help you? Are you an ex pat or a real Spaniard?

He's not wrong though, like at all?

Is not that much about being wrong -and he totally is-, but more about being an hypocrite.

But I appreciate the effort you have made in your post and that it isn’t filled with insults.

In any case, his original idea for women-only virus is plain bad. The examples of "bad" character designs he shows are also good examples of bad sexualisation: Quiet, Cortana are characters who do not need to be this blatantly sexualised, in fact it goes against their role in the respective games! Note he didn’t said that his original idea was “bad”, he literally said that it was misogynistic.

He says that a virus having an effect only in women is “misoginy”. That’s already a confirmation that his train of thought is fundamentally flawed. And I very much doubt he would say the idea was misandrist if the game was about only men getting infected.

And the puritanism regarding sexuality never ceases to amaze me. Does Cuckmann go outside an ask girls why they dress the way they dress? Wanting a “good explanation” to justify sexualization is stupid, sexualization itself is a good explanation. We are deeply sexual creatures and there’s nothing wrong with sexuality. Males have a more compulsory sexuality and like to see hot females, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that despite those silly theories about the evil male gaze and other puritanesque SJW hot takes trying to make sexuality a bad thing.

Neil is basically saying that his fanservice of feminist designs and tropes is good and the fanservice made for males is bad and shouldn’t be done “without a very good explanation, mister”. It’s hipocrisy at it’s finest.

And the funniest thing is that they are trying to masquerade it as being “more mature”. Which is laughable and took literally from the church 101 book of puritanism and “decency” and no fun allowed.

But it's not wrong to say that a lot of times the characters are sexualised to please male audience in a way which is not relatable to their function in game

Those characters aren’t Neil characters.

And how are not relatable to their function in the game just because they are sexy?

That’s like saying Ellie isn’t relatable because a 45 kgs girl wouldn’t be capable of fighting an entire militia at all.

It’s a videogame, we all make suspensions of disbelief all the time.

If TLOU is aiming for realism having bikini-wearing hot-ass Ellie is definitely over-the-top and totally unreasiltic. They are not striving for realism at all, otherwise the game would be much more different and the protagonist wouldn’t be a little teenage girl that somehow makes Rambo look like an incompetent.

In a collapsed world, everything females would have to survive is sex and hotness. In a world based on the survival of the strongest, females would be at the mercy of the far more stronger men. It has happened through history in societies much more civilized than the one in TLOU2.

They strived for the feminist fanservice version of postapocalyptic world. Which is ok, but isn’t realistic at all.

It's gonna be really easy to miss collectibles, hidden rooms, and resources in this one with it being so open. I'm gonna be paranoid scourinf every bit while only using bricks and bottles always thinking I'll need the resources later.

They better not make you play through hard to unlock survivor. Just let me play whichever one I need to for Platinum first thing

- Big fan of TLOU, replayed it numerous times.
- Quite aware of all the leaks.
- More than willing to go in with an open mind

I think it looks pretty fantastic, hoping the final product will deliver.

I found Uncharted 4 to be pretty good as a one time experience but nearly broken on replays. The pacing is fucked. Way too much walk and talk and automated gameplay with little real agency.

I sure hope TLOU2 ends up being a lot better than UC4.

Anyways, I think it's time all of us grow up, on all sides. It's the same cycle, every day, in every single one of these TLOU2 related threads.

June is going to be a very tough pill of a month for many to swallow all around the internet.

I don't think anyone's grandparents would be proud that their grandchild is sitting on a gaming forming whining about breast design for a video game character, telling an artist how to create something to cater to "my" own person views.. Or proud that we are defending design choices by people who really don't care for or see us defending them.

My comment also wasn't directed at you, but just in general with this whole situation. It's embarrassing and I'm embarrassed for even being apart of it. Because in 3 weeks we will all have looked very silly.

You do know they only modeled her for the head Dina, right?
They kind of modeled her face/head.

Her real face is chubbier and has tons of freckles and marks on it. There was a YT video I saw her and at first it looked like a totally different person..... then ya, it is kind of her.

In the game videos, Dina's face and head are slimmed down and much smoother skinned.

No, it’s literally everything that matters. The creator of the game is outlining how he makes a political statement by the design of the female characters alone.

The fact that those females dress the same as the males is precisely the point, not an invalidation of the whole point.
