Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Now that order has been restored and this is JRPG of the year to this point, do you guys think that Bravely Default 2 is coming this year? Could it give Xenoblade a race?
It's supposed to still be coming in 2020, I'd guess sometime in the fall.

I anticipate both being great games, but pretty different.

I tried getting into BD2 but I just couldn't, something I can't put my finger on is stopping me from enjoying it (also that difficulty and yes I know the demo is meant to be more difficult but damn)

Yeah demo wasn't a home run, but man that art style makes me hard just thinking about it. There's no chance they can't do a decent game out of that.

Someone posted a screenshot on Reddit that if you have a XC2 save file you'll get 100k G for XC:DE.

Is that a lot or no? I've never played the first game, only XC2 and XCX.

I have also never played the original. If jshackles jshackles approves.. I am in.
If you're a fan of RPGs (which I know you are!) then you're going to love it.

I posted that earlier in the thread as well with a screenshot. 100k isn't a whole lot of money but it's a pretty sizable sum for the beginning of the game. It definitely helps take away some of the early-game grind. I recommend saving it for when merchants start carrying skill books - those are going to be 4-10k each and there is one for each skill for every character so they add up in a hurry.

So it's a nice bonus, but it's not game breaking or anything.

I thought I would comment on IGN's review about how this dude did not play the game but I did not bother original video was pulled they re-uploaded a new version comments blew up those comments are amazing and some are from well known Xenoblade youtubers lol

You can't cheese your way through a review with this kind of fanbase

so now they became a news topic for youtubers to rant about - also Spoilers

tnis fanboy is losing his shit lol

I'm pretty sure you can blow through that easy but money is not really an issue as you go on.

I think XCX was the only game where money mattered to me because you need to buy a squad of Mechs and you need guns for them too

Yeah, haven't watched roast but isn't Melia one of the stronger characters? Tricky to learn but her damage over time attacks are devastating

But I'mma stay mad lol cause he complained that the characters talk too much in battle and it's annoying babble! Unforgivable lol

I love the banter between characters...By the way, for anyone new to the game, it all actually means something.

When Shulk says his famous line "I'm really feeling it" what he means is "my tension just went up." It's a crucial mechanic that maybe isn't obtrusive so people learning the game can miss how important/useful it is. Party members with very high tension will fill up the party gauge just by auto-attacking, for example, which helps you do more chain attacks (limit breaks) or resurrect fallen allies. And they have an increased chance to extend a chain attack beyond the 1st 3 links. They also just generally fight better. I'm gonna pay extra attention to tension this time around because I want to try and get crazy with Chain Attacks and use their damage multiplier as close as you can to Overdrive mode in Xenoblade Chronicles X.

I believe one of the main reasons fans say the AI for Melia sucks is because if you use her properly she kicks a lot of ass so they tend to take control of her skills instead of allowing the AI to take control of her and do bullshit they don't want.

I can't believe IGN stopped the Resolution talk among the fanbase by being this dense though, the wrong names and disrespecting Melia fans united the fans against them.
I am seeing reports that they had to remove and upload the review 2 times to fix the video

Besides one of the main things about the original Xenoblade you never ever spoil Seventh, that was enough to piss off the base against them.
I am starting to feel they did this on purpose.

I was waiting for this.

Basically the rumored resolution range for both modes are true but framerate is mostly stable 30 fps with rare dips. Dynamic resolution is at hand.

Yeah, dynamic resolution exists to keep the framerate smooth. The question is, would you rather the framerate drop for a moment or the image to blur for a moment? A real Sophie's choice

Framerate should always be consistent in literally every game, even stable 20 fps is more bearable than stuttering frames. So yeah, resolution can go blur all they want for me.

I respect your preference for stable framefate. In my case I need to play it before I decide what I prefer. I never played XC2 (will play it right after this) so I really don't know what I'm in for.

A lot of people making fun of the IGN review.

Who could forget Duncan and his powerful 4-hit talent art, Possum Chance?

I cried when he destroyed his arm using the Monaro

Seems I should give this a watch, but they took it down right is there like a upload of the original?

It's changed or will be, probably do better to watch short videos poking fun at it, keeping in mind that these these things get blown out of proportion.

He did call characters "Rain" and "Duncan" though lol. You can't make a reynbow without Rain, as they say.

Welp Best Buy shipped my copy and now it is time to wait for Friday. Out of curiosity how bad was that IGN spoiler? I haven't played the game yet if you could please spoiler it if it is major, thanks.

Major story spoiler, but they pulled it down. We are talking about events in the game reasonably loosely but we'll definitely tag major dramatic story spoilers

First time playing this game, it's so damn good so far. I didn't know what made me like it so much at first but I think it's because it has a MMORPG feel to it. The world is so huge and the combat reminds me of that as well

Everyone's favourite smash bro is finally getting

His.

Own.

Game.

What's more it's a prequel explaining what happened before Xenoblade 2!

Exciting times.

In honour of the IGN review I'd like to share this special cover version of

"You WON'T know our names"

Mine is preparing for shipping. Knowing my country’s postal service, it may arrive tomorrow or next Wednesday.

So I have one evening to hove that final boss in Trails of Cold Steel a proper beating...

I should receive it today *fingers crossed*

I’m... actually NOT really feeling the hype for another 720p game. I’ve just bought a 4K TV and a game like Xenoblade would deserve every single one of those pixels in all their glory.

Now the dilemma as a non native english speaker:
-Playing with the original japanese voices with voices that fit the characters but not getting almost any of the party banter
-Playing with the horrible English VA that gives 16 years old kids as Shulk or Reyn the voices of 30 years old adults but getting the Party Banter.

When those fuckers will start adding subtitles to party banter?

English VA is some of the greatest of all time, plus Shulk and Reyn are 18 so technically young men not that that makes a huge difference.

But I agree with you at least that I wish games with Japanese audio gave the party banter subtitles. PQ2 and TMS would have benefited greatly from it

Invest in an mClassic. Can wholeheartedly recommend it. In Switch´s case, it does improve the IQ of these games a lot. Just wish you had an option to try it out first and see for yourselves to convince yourself.
Eh... I’ve seen pics and videos. Frankly, it doesn’t look like a difference I’d really notice in action.
I’d be happy to be proven wrong, but I have no way to test it in IRL before buying.

I’m sure I’ll be happy with the game one way or another, but it’s disappointing that Xenoblade remains that one big game that’s always a generation behind tech-wise, when it’s far ahead of the curve gameplay-wise and it’s worthy of tech at least on par with current gen.

It arrived. Now just finish the work day. Bring the kids later to bed and hope not be to tired to play it 🤣

Congrats, it looks beautiful.

My plan to skip CE and just go with the normie version so I could find a store that broke street date completely failed, they must have all got a talking to around here after breaking street date for P5R and FFVIIR
