I'd believe them. Sunset Overdrive was/is pretty darn complex when you really get rolling...despite looking smooth and easy in videos.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but this and the QTEs make me wary.

It doesn't have to be bad. You could be going to get some groceries when guys bust in to Rob the place. You then slap a paper bag on your head and get to work.

Marvel forcing boring ass Miles Morales into the first big chance to get a good Spidey game. This initiative is cursed. Spider-Man is cursed.

Take that back. Out of all of the Hero "successors" Marvel has done to their characters Miles was the most interesting.

Unless they do incredibly tedious gameplay segments, I think it's a good thing.
In all Spiderman games I ended up feeling disconnected from the character because you just see him in the suit 24/7, and it's not like in Batman Arkham games, which take place in one long night.
It dehumanizes him.

Having more significant Parker parts, can help avoid that.

Plus the stories where he has to juggle his personal life with the Spiderman persona, are the most fun to go through.

not a fan of these in-game cut scenes. the visuals look much better than the actual gameplay, and the result is a bit jarring.

I'm guessing the Peter gameplay is just to help with the pacing, story, etc. It's also a nice switch up from the constant beating up gangs, swinging, etc.

For instance, lets take Witcher 3 for example (it's not the best example, but I hope I can get my point across). The quests in which Geralt is attending a wedding or a ball are some of the best in the game. Partly because of the level design, the story, the writing, etc.

So as long as the Peter parts aren't super common, and they are written well and designed well, I think we'll enjoy it.

I love Spidey as much as I do for as long as I have because of Peter Parker. This a great thing if you ask me and a long time coming. Many of the greatest Spidey stories dealt as much with Peter's home and social life as much as they did Web slinging and fisticuffs and I really hope the game brings this element of Spidey to life and does it justice.

Ah, so it's extra perks based similar to Ryse's prompts. You don't have to hit anything, but you can to add affects to the action.
