Billy Crudup Drops Out of The Flash movie

This project sounds like a mess. You gotta wonder why Crudup would drop out. Maybe he just had some other projects coming up and didn't want this to interfere. But you combine this with all the other news we've gotten and...well it isn't a good look.

Well the director he signed up to work with is gone, and the production schedule he agreed to has been pushed back by at least a year, if not longer. And the script is undergoing huge rewrites. It's probably just turning into something much different from what he agreed to do.

"It's unclear at the moment," Crudup said when asked about The Flash. "Ezra’s schedule. Ezra is a busy man. He’s very popular. And excellent."

Yup. Totally dropped out. /s

I love how people believe Warner Bros wouldn't have someone locked down who just showed up in the Justice League trailer. The film has no production start date, so how can there be any scheduling conflicts or any conflicts whatsoever.

I wonder how true this is when Crudup was just talking about Flash last week and Raimi was JUST announced as in talks yesterday.

Raimi being in talks was only just reported yesterday. The actual talks between him and the studio have been happening for a few weeks now.

Trades wouldn't have made an article JUST mentioning him if he had already dropped out. Unless Borys Kit had old information and passing it off as new.

I don't think they could do anything at this point to live up to my lofty expectations of the character and given the troubled production and awful design and the fact that DCEU sucks shit in general I just want the pain to stooooop

Fam you got a tv show. Its all good.

I'm wonder if the WB execs have seen a cut of Justice League yet and had the Rick McCallum reaction to the Phantom Menace. They must be thinking it, do we continue with this universe.

As long as they make money nobody at WB will be thinking about that.

You'd think Aquaman would be the solo movie that they have trouble getting off the ground but, nope, everything's going along swimmingly there. Meanwhile...

Aquaman has James Wann, so it was always going to be in much better spot than most of DCEU.

Just drop the Flash movie and continue on another project, WB, this production clearly working out.

Justice League Dark at least has an attached director.

Why is it so damn hard to get a Flash movie going FFS. Nothing but bad news surrounding this one, can't imagine the final product being good at all, if it even comes out lol.

It's okay. Crudup clearly only quit so Zack Snyder could have him return as Dr. Manhattan in Justice League 3.

Aww shit. I just finished reading The Flash #22 of "The Button" and it had totally slipped my mind that Snyder did the Watchmen film. That is totally going to happen, isn't it? :(

Well fuck the director you signed with dropped out and the script you signed on to is getting rewritten. Maybe he feels Alien Covenant will get him more roles that he doesnt need to wait for this

Only embarassing part is that scene from the JL trailer...

Aquaman save us

This is normal.

This happens all the time.

Everything will be alright.

Like the AntMan debacle, like Joss Whedons breakdown, like Thor 2 losing a director?

everyone has problems

The movie was announced 3 years ago and they don't even have a director or script. No one wants to be jerked around by incompetence

Again, you're acting like agents are breaking down his door for roles. He was announced in September 2016. So let's not act like he's been waiting around for 3 years.
