Ratings held up pretty well considering it was up against the Oscars on Sunday. This Sunday had 2.3M watching live and did a 1.0 in the 18-49 demo versus last week's 2.6M and 1.1. Presumably the cumulative numbers including reruns will continue the momentum as lots of people are either timeshifting or watching late these days.
 
I think this will do really well on BluRay.

Come to think of it, it would be amazing not having seen the show before, getting the BluRay and then just marathon the whole show over a weekend.

Remus is pleased with this confirmation. It allows them to get in some talent each year that they otherwise might not be able to get because a given actor may want the freedom to go do something else rather than be locked into a 5 year contract. The American Horror Story model would work as well, with a tight repretory cast of character actors with some stars rotating in and out. Remus doesn't think they'd get DeNiro or Pachino or someone like that, but it could land them a name person who likes to work and doesn't think television is filthy, like Hoffman (though no idea if he'd actually work with HBO again after the Lucky debacle).

We'll have a reunion in a years time to bemoan the terribad season 2 and bone assed casting choices they made (Christian Slater, Rose Mcgowan & Ben Kingsley..really Nick what were you thinking?) as well as point out to the LTTP people that we were into TD before they sold out and went mainstream.

I'm with you. There was something sentimental and bittersweet, especially in the scene between Maggie and Marty, that really got to me for some reason. A vague sense of letting go began to set in. Next week will probably wreck me.

I have agree, Rust and Marty are in it to take down the man who killed the victims they know of. I think the state, once everything starts getting blown open, will bring down the cult at large. Or the show will end
with another girl being kidnapped for the cult showing us that evil never really dies and the idea of The Yellow King and Carcosa are this eternal thread that will always exist as long as good does.

The final shot is Rust and Marty having something to live for as they decide to pursue and punish evil till the day they die.

Just watched the new episode and really enjoyed it aside from the ending but that's just because I don't want to wait to see all the shit that's going to go down.
 
This show makes me feel inadequate. Like I'm missing something To understand its deeper meaning.

Can't spoil episode 8, so I'll try to think of something else until sunday, otherwise I'll go nuts.

I thought it was implied pretty heavily. I don't think Maggie would have asked twice, nor would they have made it crystal clear that Marty didn't want to answer her question, if there wasn't something to it.

Yeah, seems like it. I didn't actually consider it an option at the time because I was too busy hating Maggie.

I think Rust takes the fall, so Marty can go free. His job is done. So he goes to prison . . . and there he receives a call from a man named Toretto. They need a man like him to track down a killer. A killer who killed one of their own, a brother, family. Two days later he disappears and there's a car-sized hole on the prison wall.

MM announced as the newest addition to the Fast & Furious cast.
