What if Horizon: Zero Dawn was made in 1996?

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Millennials who didn't actually live through the PSX era shouldn't try to recreate it.
I assume you mean people born in the 90's
PSX is definitely an old Millennial era
Most where Teenagers then.
Anyway what is with people making things in the 90's look older then they were.
I saw app on the Play store said 1998 Professional Camera.
The description was
"Shoot Photos with filters that make them look like they was shot in 1998."
So I was curious
they looked like they was shot in the 60's and overexposed

Same thing with those dumb "8 bit" movies people make that have better pixel graphics than SNES games.

How many open world games existed back then? I doubt it could have looked much better.
There were quite a few, actually. They weren't vast open worlds, but they allowed the player freedom to explore. I'd like to think Legacy of Kain is somewhat close to how they could have implemented it. It certainly wasn't a floaty, pixelated, contrived mess like this imagining was.

But to be fair this is probably just some kid having fun. Not a big deal.

It's almost close for the time period. There's too many trees and the character is too smooth, but the textures are worse than they should be.

Good effort. Kinda cool.

Even the worst ones weren't this bad, and they didn't even get the texture warping right.

It's like they looked at some PSX games on MobyGames and tried to recreate the look.
Uh, I'm pretty sure the majority of PSX gamers were millennials.
