This game looks really good and is low key flying under the radar (dev is kinda falling short on the promo side of things). The art is fantastic and from the gameplay snippets I've seen the writing rather sharp as well.
 
I hope they work on the background art a bit more. Half the static objects don't cast any shadows, and the ones that do makes it look like the light source is right overhead. Makes everything look extremely flat.

The character walk animation is kinda boring.

Overall the visuals are fine, but in HD games the difference in resolution between the background art and the sprites becomes apparent when the sprites are scaled down or up.
When their resolutions match they look good though.
