Disc version for me. Not for games but 4k movies. Will be able to take out my stand alone player.

Oh and the long shot dream the disc version will play PS1-3 games

I went ShopTo last time and ordered the KZSF pack with an extra controller. There was some confusion amongst retailers about how that should be priced. They didn't reduce the price of that package in line with other retailers once the RRP was updated though. Didn't use them for anything else this gen at all because of that.

Having the extra controller has been great this gen - particularly with how long PS4 pads last - I'll go extra controller, PS5 digital edition and if reasonable a Pulse 3D headset.

It's just handy swapping one controller out when the battery dies with the other, and the odd times I play local coop.

My original PS4 controller only holds charge about an hour and a half now. Luckily I got the Pro day one and also a snazzy purple controller.

Pffft, the Game "leak" is just the Reddit & 4chan leaks, so it's most likely just a case of an employee taking them as fact since store staff run the individual accounts.

Yeah I submitted my preorder with Shopto on the 24th Jan, hopefully that will get me near the front of the queue. They have never let me down with a console on launch day.

I agree. Don't get your hopes up. This is an old leak, and Sony themselves have disconfirmed it. They said there's going to be no announcements about PS5 this week.

I'm thinking that, with the Xbox price announcements, we'll hear something from them next week -- although maybe they'll wait longer, until MS definitely confirms the XSX price? I dunno.

Just tell me what it costs and I'll pay it.

Microsoft has revealed its pricing just now by the way.

X Box Series X $499 (£450 UK). Pre-orders start September 22nd.

I don't think it will be that hard if you order from two different places at roughly the same time. If Sony do like Microsoft are you'll have advance warning on the day pre-orders open.

£399 for the digital edition probably. It's hard to put a price on Sonys established IP's therefore you cant really compare the consoles price wise like for like.

Cost wise I'm sure the extra features on the controller, sound and SSD make it as equally costly or more so than the X Box Series X.

To be fair the PS3 launch was ~14 years ago. I mean £425 then was probably the equivalent of around £600 in 2020.

It was very expensive, but the good side of that was it priced out a lot of the idiots and the online community was a joy in the early days.

I got the exact same things for launch, I remember thinking that Casio Royale looked so good and played the shit out of Resistance and Motorstorm, also super rub 'a' dub I remember a lot of my friends shied away from the PS3 due to the price and opted for 360s instead. They eventually came back with their tales between their legs when their Xboxs broke and Sony got the price sorted.
